Questions About Alerts

Forgive me if this has been posted, I've searched but couldn't find anything.

I just came back here after a long hiatus to see that I have 18 alerts. I click on the "alert" button at the top right which opens up a dropdown menu showing six alerts. I click on the link that says "show all" because I want to see all 18 alerts. I get brought to a page still showing only six alerts. Is there a way for me to see all 18 alerts? (I'm guessing no)

Sigh, cool new features added but broken ain't working to their full potential.

Can't see older alerts other than the latest 6

Sorry if this sounds rant-ish.

EDIT: So, the more important question is, will we be able to see all the past alerts/status updates with a future update to the site?

It seems that I have been away for too long and it only shows the latest six alerts. Still can't see all 18 of them.

Hmm, now that you have tagged me, it has appeared in my alert. It's showing seven now. Weird, maybe it has been so long since the previous alerts that they don't appear anymore?

"Show All" or that link you provided, takes me to a page where it now shows seven alerts, including one where you just tagged me. And that's all.

I also only see one page, with 20 alerts, going back to Monday this week.

Viewed alerts will remain in the pop-up for 3 hours and on the Alerts page for a maximum of 4 days.

I don't know why you'd see a larger alert number than what you actually have, but you might have had some alerts triggered by threads which have since been moved or deleted.

Not every quote is mentioned in the Alerts. Even if I'm quoted within the 3 hours window. Sometimes I get one alert for a quote while I've been quoted in two different threads with only a few minutes in between.

Hard to say exactly what's happening, with so many different possible scenarios. If someone manually creates their own quote with quote tags (instead of clicking on the "Reply" button to quote your post), you will not receive an alert for that.

I'd like to report that since new years, I've been having a few problems with the Alerts tabs as well. Quite regularly I will check my "watched threads" and there will be a few topics that have new posts but, nothing showing up on my Alerts page. Just like when I logged on this morning. 1 Alert but, 5 unread topics in my watched threads.

Nothing has changed about the site's code since that time. Note that you'll only receive an alert for the first new post that a thread receives after you've read it. If you view that alert but don't view the thread, you won't receive subsequent alerts for it.

Yes, the bug I am reporting is that even after viewing the thread that had an alert, it will occasionally not show alerts for posts in that thread after that.

That's weird...this unwatched thread gave me an alert, and I'm not mentioned in it, nor had I posted in it until now.
