Haven't tried QM yet. I was kinda excited about it. It can't replace the good ol' shuffle racing we loved so mucht in GT5, but it seemed a step in the right direction.
After reading all posts in this thread, I'm having seriuous doubts and I'll probably won't even try it. I'm allergic to dirty drivers, so I'm thinking I'll just give this a miss....
PD, I'll ask once again: please, please bring back shuffle racing
What am I doing wrong at the start of the race? I've been playing with the sound down because I've had to play late at night the last couple days and I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong. When the lights go all red I mash the gas and when the race starts I'm sitting there stuck while everyone passes me.
I did a bit of shuffle racing in GT5, it had plenty of dirty drivers, and if it comes back to GT6 it will still have plenty of dirty drivers. This has nothing to do with the format of the racing, rather it's the fact that anybody with a PS3 and GT6 disc can join the online racing regardless of their skill or desire for clean racing. The only way to avoid dirty drivers completely is in well regulated private rooms.

I had a lot, and most of the time it was the greatest racing i had on GT5.
You have dirty drivers everywhere, but you don't need a private room to have clean racing. You just have to join the right room, and you know it's the right room, because it has all of the people that always do shuffle. I play shuffle-ish on GT6 with the same people that i played on GT5, and none of them are in my friends list, we just end up meeting again and again, and having amazing races. The only problem is, that it's not shuffle, so you have to buy a bunch of cars and you have people that only drives Dino, NSX-R,Elise etc...
+ When you looked for shuffle-racing on GT5, you had always a bunch of rooms saying "DIRTY or kick", and another saying "CLEAN or kick", so you had everyone on the right place. That is the problem with quick match, you have everything mixed, and the dirty driving intensifies because he/she won't get kicked or anything like that.
I am not against QM, but it will "never" replace shuffle, at least not with this format.
It's a good idea, but it's pretty much built around weak drivers..
It was just so boring not being able to communicate, having SRF locked ON, having boost on.. Wasn't really my cup of tea but it's good PD is adding things to the game.
I've won many times with the Impreza Spec C. 2nd Place is usually a Evora. If you don't pick the NSX, you're pretty much never going to see 1st place.

Well most of the races I'm in, not many use the NSX. Although in the 600 PP race, it seems like everyone uses the 458 Italia. If it's a room filled with NSX's and you're the only one in something else, you won't win.
I love the idea of quick match, however, a few things needs fixing before i start using it more.
1: It's not "Quick", it is so slow to load, and if a match isn't found (which happens a lot) then it throws you back to the main menu
2: Catch up should be turned off
3: You need the option to change your car between races
4: They should change track after every race. Same track and same car every single race is very boring after a while
5: If you change assists when a match is found, then assists menu is stuck on screen so you have no idea whats going on
6: They have removed the Overall best lap time
Of course you can always quit the lobby to chose a different car, but that requires patience and luck.
But this is the first release, so you can expect a few issues with a brand new feature. Updates will come
What suprised me the most was that when I entered QM and spectated the current race, one guy was about 2 miles away from the circuit (GVE). I don't know if they managed to break out or whether it was a replay glitch since they were flat out driving in a straight line. It was cool to see the background skyscrapers up a bit closer and the fields/scenery stretches out much further than you would expect. Shame I couldn't save the replay.
I won in a room full of NSX's, with an RX7, so your argument is invalidIf it's a room filled with NSX's and you're the only one in something else, you won't win.
