Just had a ninja update, went into Quick Match for the 600pp Deep forest event and found that SRF can be turned off.

EDIT: Must be a bug, restarted GT6 and SRF option is locked again :(

Tried a couple of races last night. No problems with freezing of system.
It is however a demolition derby most of the time. Luckely half of the field makes a false start over and over again so that gets rid of them. In the end had a couple of nice races after the 1 lap mahem.

Still prefer to have shuffle back and the community options as in GT5 so you can quickly see what your friends are doing.

PS: (Off topic) Do like the rest of the update. Sierra time trail is a bit like "Outrun", but at least it is something new.

What am I doing wrong at the start of the race? I've been playing with the sound down because I've had to play late at night the last couple days and I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong. When the lights go all red I mash the gas and when the race starts I'm sitting there stuck while everyone passes me.

Haven't tried QM yet. I was kinda excited about it. It can't replace the good ol' shuffle racing we loved so mucht in GT5, but it seemed a step in the right direction.

After reading all posts in this thread, I'm having seriuous doubts and I'll probably won't even try it. I'm allergic to dirty drivers, so I'm thinking I'll just give this a miss.... :boggled::dunce:

PD, I'll ask once again: please, please bring back shuffle racing :scared::scared:

I did a bit of shuffle racing in GT5, it had plenty of dirty drivers, and if it comes back to GT6 it will still have plenty of dirty drivers. This has nothing to do with the format of the racing, rather it's the fact that anybody with a PS3 and GT6 disc can join the online racing regardless of their skill or desire for clean racing. The only way to avoid dirty drivers completely is in well regulated private rooms.

What you're doing wrong is mashing the gas when the lights are red. You're not supposed to mash the gas until the lights go out, otherwise you get a false start penalty and sit on the track for a certain period of time (depending on how flagrant your violation was). Keep your foot on the brake until all the lights turn off, then give it the beans. 👍

I love the idea of quick match, however, a few things needs fixing before i start using it more.

1: It's not "Quick", it is so slow to load, and if a match isn't found (which happens a lot) then it throws you back to the main menu
2: Catch up should be turned off
3: You need the option to change your car between races
4: They should change track after every race. Same track and same car every single race is very boring after a while
5: If you change assists when a match is found, then assists menu is stuck on screen so you have no idea whats going on
6: They have removed the Overall best lap time

Of course you can always quit the lobby to chose a different car, but that requires patience and luck.

But this is the first release, so you can expect a few issues with a brand new feature. Updates will come

I tried a few quick match races last night - got disconnected the first two attempts, but after that, it was fine. I think it's a step in the right direction. This feature needs to be tweaked and expanded.

I did a lot, and most of the time it was the greatest racing i had on GT5.

You have dirty drivers everywhere, but you don't need a private room to have clean racing. You just have to join the right room, and you know it's the right room, because it has all of the people that always do shuffle. I play shuffle-ish on GT6 with the same people that i played on GT5, and none of them are in my friends list, we just end up meeting again and again, and having amazing races. The only problem is, that it's not shuffle, so you have to buy a bunch of cars and you have people that only drives Dino, NSX-R,Elise etc...

+ When you looked for shuffle-racing on GT5, you had always a bunch of rooms saying "DIRTY or kick", and another saying "CLEAN or kick", so you had everyone on the right place. That is the problem with quick match, you have everything mixed, and the dirty driving intensifies because he/she won't get kicked or anything like that.

I am not against QM, but it will "never" replace shuffle, at least not with this format.

As the lights go red i think five of them wait till they go out then after a couple seconds the "start" bell will sound if you release your brake pedal before the bell you will get penelized.

Fair points. I didn't say clean racing was impossible in public rooms, I just said the only way to completely avoid it is in a private room with known friends. I don't frequent pub rooms so I wouldn't know where the good ones are and where the bad ones are (but 9 out of 10 I've joined are bad).

Also, I've never bought into the theory that putting "clean or kick" in the titled had any effect. If someone is a bad driver it's possible that they're not aware how bad they are so they join a clean room and mess things up. Or, if they're intentionally a dirty driver and want to cause mayhem, what better place to do so than a room where people are trying to race clean. If I was a jerk dirty driver and wanted to get the most reaction from people/cause the most mayhem I'd intentionally join a clean room, behave myself until the race started, and then start crashing people. I've never done this, but I've witnessed it many times. Dirty gonna be dirty regardless of the venue. Until we get some kind of player ranking system it's just something we're going to have to deal with (and this is why I organize all my online racing through GTP).

EDIT: To clarify, I'm not saying either of us are right or wrong. I'm just relating my experiences which may be completely different from others experiences. 👍

What NAT do you guys have? I have NAT2 and everytime I try to enter a race it says "incompatibilty with the host" and kicks me out!

Well, I think do you have any problem with Quick Match. I'm happy that Quick Match has been brought back, but this is slow, right?

It's a good idea, but it's pretty much built around weak drivers..
It was just so boring not being able to communicate, having SRF locked ON, having boost on.. Wasn't really my cup of tea but it's good PD is adding things to the game.

Sadly, that kinda describes GT6 as a whole, dumbed down for the lowest common denominator. It's a shame to see it head in that direction.

It would be nice to see themed quick match races, similar to the seasonals, where they're updated once or twice a month.

I finally managed to get a few 500pp QMs last night, they were actually pretty clean and close to my suprise, only one person drove a bit boistrously.

What suprised me the most was that when I entered QM and spectated the current race, one guy was about 2 miles away from the circuit (GVE). I don't know if they managed to break out or whether it was a replay glitch since they were flat out driving in a straight line. It was cool to see the background skyscrapers up a bit closer and the fields/scenery stretches out much further than you would expect. Shame I couldn't save the replay.

I tried Quick Match for the first time last night and one thing immediately stood out to me: you can only use courtesy cars. I really wish we had the option of using our own cars instead. That at least would make things a bit more interesting.

I understand your point of view but PD would always have to make a compromise...

1: It's not any faster to load, but as i see it, the time gain is in quickly finding a server to race. In the normal online mode i find myself going back and forth looking for a server that pleases me, many times i gave up without joining any server...
Now i know that in 5 minutes time i can be racing with no assists on a relatively competitive race with JGTC cars.

2:As should all assists except the abs, but I've to reckon that the vast majority of players uses game-pads and doesn't like racing without assists... still it would be nice to have another event with no assists, currently I'm stuck with JGTC, i refuse to race with assists, skidding recoveries...

3:don't think anyone would dislike, and doesn't seem impossible to implement...

4:There would be an disadvantage to this, with a static track everyone knows what to expect and races will be more competitive, because more people will know how to adequately tackle the track with that car class... and there's also some charm to be participating in a event that is thing of the moment... when you get tired you can move on to the regular online mode...

This sound like a bug that's been around for a while, sometimes a driver will be on a totally different track than other players and you can watch them driving around in the distance off track. This happens typically when switching tracks while a player is still loading into a room.

I have a few ideas for quick match.
1: There could be a level based system when you go from 0-60/70 and you're placed with people close to your level.
2: Assists should be gradually removed on higher power cars. (Higher XP + Cash bonus)
3: The blank mode should be made to shuffle so you lot will shush about it. :P I mean I love Shuffle as well!
4: Races should be longer at higher power cars.

I like the quick match option. It is fast, cars are limited to the list so there is no excuse my car is less performing than the others... ;-) and so far it worked well, a part for once on the RedBull ring when everything was black, I could see only the cars.

If it's a room filled with NSX's and you're the only one in something else, you won't win.
I won in a room full of NSX's, with an RX7, so your argument is invalid

Uhhh... For easy wins, I pick these cars:
GVS: NSX
Deep Forest: Ford GT
RBR: Mini Cooper S
Fuji: Any of the GT-R's
