Quick-Match concept

I won in a room full of NSX's, with an RX7, so your argument is invalid

The drivers of those NSX's must have been noobs. It's clearly the best car on the track. Try time attacking the course with all the eligible cars and see what your fastest lap is.

I tried Quick Match for the first time last night and one thing immediately stood out to me: you can only use courtesy cars. I really wish we had the option of using our own cars instead. That at least would make things a bit more interesting.

I can bet it's to keep hacked cars out of the lobby, so using provided cars is a good thing IMO.

It's also good for bringing the non tuners and good tuners together.

I think the cars are way too far apart. I took a ZR-1 on Deep Forest, and my lap time ran home with its tail between its legs when I did the 458.

Unfortunately, I do not see the appeal in this. Its exactly like GT5 Prologue: A paint in the Ass guessing of whether you get to race people or not and when it does work, its people running you off the road or running into you and others. Only difference is now that SRF is forced on. Great, now trying to race will feel even more stifled and you can really feel it when you drive the compact cars.

I'm afraid I'm staying away from quick match, too many bad reminders of GT5P for me and I wish not to relive that again.

The concept is a good start and with some constructive and useful feedback from US, the Community, PD can hopefully refine it.

There does need to be an SRF filter, if you have it set or choose on or off, you're matched with other drivers the same.
But in the few 500pp races I've done, avoiding the retards on the first lap is the key
brake early and hug the inside of the first few corners, they go careering off the outside of the track and it's clear road to race with others who can.

I won two races tonight and both times while the results were loading, someone who had already finished behind me got moved up to first! The same guy each time and I only got payout for 2nd. What's that all about?

Tried quick match yesterday > 500pp class and I was surprised that in 3 races, whole field 12-14 cars finished within 6-8 seconds. Some good close racing with some bumping/rubbing ,but no on purpose crashes. Good fun for everyone.

Today I've tried "compact car series " and first got bad luck with lobby crashing/server disconnect 3 times before event even started ,but once I was in , it was again some close and fun racing for next 4 races.

This "quick match" thing is mainly made for "casuals" who just want to have some quick fun (120 sec to get in a race) and despite I'm clean racer and don't like arcade/dirty lobys ,I'm quite happy with races I've had so far, just as long I don't expect everyone to drive clean by the book.

I love the Super GT QM race. Hopefully they keep things like this in the future, because it's an absolute blast.

I'm having a lot of fun with Quick Match(QM). Having tried online before a few times, I just never seemed to have the right car and I'm not the best driver to boot. But with QM, you get to pick a car that's more or less similar to everyone else and just have a fair race.
The net code needs some fine tuning but after getting a stable connection you can rotate races pretty fast, so if you stuff up it doesn't matter because you get another go pretty quick. In the last set I raced there was 5 of us and we went through about 4 cycles and it all went smooth with reasonably clean driving.
Btw is there anyway to see what your opponents are using in the way of driving aids?

The one thing QM needs based on my experiences so far online - serious penalties! If Richard Cranium racks up their quotas worth or penalties, they get kicked from the server.

Rack up several kicks and it results in bans.

It needs to be stabilized first, and a way to get your friends with you in the same match, like an invite system, and an option to either host a match or join a hosted match.

So like the standard lobby system then?....
Sorry I wasn't specific with what I said.

-Select Quick Match.
-Select One of the available events.
-Screen pops-up asking you if you want to host or join an existent match.
-*You selected to host a match* In the pre-race menu, there'd be an option saying "Invite your Friends" (Doesn't matter what you choose, this option should be always available).
-Screen pops up with a list of your friends playing GT6 at the moment, select the ones you want to invite and if they accept, good, randoms will be filling slots as your doing it anyway.
-Randoms and your friends should be able to invite theire friends, too

That's how I see a better Quick Match feature.

Additionally Beginner events should occasionally include 750pp races and Expert Events should occasionally include 400pp races.
NOOOOOOO!!!!! (-_-) 400PP is too slow! I don't want to race with noobs to go to Le Mans in LMP1 Hs. It should be evenly so ready out among PP and classes and should NOT discriminate or impose a standard pp for a higher level of player.

I really tried to run the races squeaky clean not so much as touching anyone at all and at times not even going for a pass I knew I could make but presumed they'd come over too far right into my side if I did.

Once I realized this was just not going to net me any wins at all and only get slammed into and turned around by the bumper cars at the back I started winning races by about 4-6sec every time. After about the first half lap I'd be totally alone for the rest of the race. Not really much fun honestly. Couldn't have been fun for the others either.

QM was "ok" for the first 24hrs or so but yes it is already turning into a wasteland of destruction derby kids. Not possible to get through a race and have a clean car at the end unless you start on pole and drive away from everyone else.

Penalties should be insanely hight the first few weeks, just scare off the dirty drivers.
That really annoys me and is the reason I only play online with friends.
Even though I like the concept of quick race.

Can we have a Quick Match leaderboard here on GTP?
My best times in the GT500:
1.35.7 - best lap
1.38.2 - best 1st lap
4.50.1 - best total time
no slipstream used

Watch out for a European nation that has a bicolour flag. Just had three races with these people and everyone of them drove dirty. Spectatored a couple more and saw the same beahviour.

What made it worse is the constant warping around the track. Had one simply appear right in front of me who would have been a good 2seconds back - 10 second collision penalty just as I was taking advantage of the shemozzle in front of me.

There quite a few countries with just two colours, which was it?

Spain Red-yellow
Portugal Red-green
Finland White-blue
Poland Red-white
Austria red-white
Sweden Blue-yellow

And that are not all.

I always get refused from entering the GT500 race due to network issues... turns out I have NAT type 3. :indiff:

NAT Type 3 is double-NAT I believe meaning you have two routers daisy chained?

Try setting the PS3 to a fixed IP and putting that in the DMZ on the main router - should help.

Sadly, that kinda describes GT6 as a whole, dumbed down for the lowest common denominator. It's a shame to see it head in that direction.

Yea, I wouldn't disagree with you on that.. It is what it is I guess.

If it's a room filled with NSX's and you're the only one in something else, you won't win.

Respectfully Disagree. I was the lone Subaru against 5 NSXs and my lead was never touched. The driver skill in these rooms is laughable.
