Wow... I'm glad I found this thread because it helps explain quite a bit! No wonder I've been getting messages from someone I never see on track! His name stands out too cause it's a famous former racecar personality. So when there are gaps between all these drivers I DO see, those are players I don't see? Yipes!

Gotta agree with the majority here... those track cutters are way too often getting away with murder. I was having a great race with someone I've never met... less than half a second difference for about the last 5 sectors of the race, and somebody behind us cuts the last corners and wins... HATE THAT!!! He killed what was such a good race!

I mentioned it in another thread... you know it's bad when someone sends me a message thanking me for racing clean!

Cheers
Do you use the GTR?

Do you use the GTR?

Nope, not at all. I usually use the Toyota or the Audi in the newer LMP race or the Sauber in the older version. I do recognize your PSN name btw. Pretty sure it was in the newer version on the Sarthe 2013 track lately.

Cheers

Yah I recognize your PSN haha. Will you be on tonight?

I'll be on as much as I can, depending on what life throws at me. I love this combo and have seen some clean racers (thank you to the ones that are clean and fast), so I'll be sticking around to try and improve.

To all the people that have a hard time getting in (as I've had)...

Try this as a possible workaround. If I can't get connected by the second try, I exit the QM menu, go into the Online race lobby, exit and re-enter the QM's. Connection on first re-try all the time (so far).

Hope it works for you as well!

Cheers

This event is going to give me a heart attack. Server issues, cheaters and people that can not drive the Nismo dump truck are a deadly combo.
The previous 2 days consisted of server disconnects and every race was filled with chicane cutting cheaters.
I use the 908 and can usually finish in the top 3 if I do not mess up or receive penalties. I lost 5 races due to the cheaters. The 1 race I won was by a hair over a cheater. There were a lot of races with the usual fast guys and I was shocked to see them cheat to win if they had messed up during the race.
Then there are the people that can not drive the Nismo. They pass me on a straight and then slam on the brakes to try to make a turn. I receive a 6 or 10 second penalty for their lack of skill. If they would use a car that they could actually drive, they would probably finish higher in the standings.
I decided to try racing again this morning. The matching process must have felt sorry for me and matched me with the most unskilled people in all 4 rooms I was in. The majority of the people could not even make the first few turns. Not surprising were how many were using the Nismo.
I ended up winning all 11 of the races. I do not know if there were any cheaters because I was too far ahead. I won 1 race by 41 seconds. I actually felt like I was a cheater for racing against such inept competition.
This afternoon I kept trying to connect and either failed or entered a race that would never start.I tried 1 last time and was able to get in a room. 7 of the 11 cars were Nismos. I won 5 more races in a row with the second place finisher also using the 908. The Nismo people kept leaving until there was none.
Winning 16 of 16 of this race will never happen again. At least today I was free of heart pains. Tomorrow will be another story for sure.

Im a realistic driver in that I respect other people on track.
A fellow TRL member says he met you and that this is just not true, on 2 occations you rammed him on the straight to prevent being overtaken, and continued by blocking all over the place, ending up spinning because you looked more backwards than forwards.

He also sent me this, take a look at the total race time, and you might want to re-evaluate if you really are a fast driver, or if it just seems that way because most people doing quickmatch are noobs.

Even though I was glad and really impressed in meeting @TRL_Erazer, I honestly wonder how I was EVER matched up with him... I'm kind of quick considering I use a controller in Auto Transmission, but I can tell who uses what especially in the Porsche Curves. I constantly try to improve my racecraft, but until I upgrade my equipment, I just have to sit by and think "Someday I'll be that Fast"... on the other hand, it's people like him who are fast and clean that make me try to improve with what I have so far.

In a way, it's just more proof that the matching system really needs to be looked at and re-vamped... among other things in Quick Match.

Cheers

I had some lag issues. I dont remember ever having rammed or blocked anyone. I we were talking after the race and we were both having fun.

@Alex Pepe Yeah, ho harsh feelings. The Quckmatches is purely done because of the money, so you'd have to have a really bad attitude to irritate him, (or me for that matter).

@Baron Blitz Red I have no idea how the matching works, but I think it has more to do with connection compabilities than race speed. erazer was known as @et_ here before he got banned.

When I first started with this event, I was able to win races at 7.25, and occasionally saw people doing 7.12s,and wondered how on earth they did it. Now, after a few weeks, I can get down to 7.12 regularly, and am now left wondering how some manage to consistently win with sub-7 minute times - just shows you how much everybody improves with enough practice!

Im new here and played a couple of quick match games the last days. I analyzed one race, where somebody bumped me from behind and I became a 10 second penalty, after I was slowed down, because someone send me off the track the corner before and I was penalized for cutting the corner.
What I found when I was watching the playback: the guy that hit me from behind did nothing wrong, because I was half-transparent at that moment. This is clearly a software bug. So I think there are a lot of crazy drivers out there, but in many cases it's not the driver but the software.

I was in that room with you, and it was one of those events where not all drivers seem to load properly - happens quite regularly. You can tell when it happens, because you always start from the same place on the grid.

So if we can't see all the players, does that mean there could be 2 first (second, third, etc) place finishes and payouts???

Cheers

I don't think so, but there are a lot of bugs in the quick match. Sometimes someone who is 2 minuts behind ist suddenly the winner...
Anyway, I made about 40 millions during the last days, so this is a lot of fun!

One thing that I noticed: It seems that the Nissans got slower during the last days and especially the Audis are more stable. Did anyone else have the same impression?

I don't notice the Nissans any slower. I, I mean they still pull ahead of the other cars on the straights and the Porsche curves. If they'd get out of the slow corners faster there'd be no chance for anyone else. Guess that's why they cut some serious PPs from it.

Ya, I've had races where I would win by a landslide only to have someone else take first place winnings... drives me nuts. Sad thing is, the times are the same just the finishing places are different. I've had winning times of around 7:15ish to be "beat" by times of over 7:40... explanation: the track marshals are drunk!!!

As for the cars, I haven't noticed any real difference tbh. One possible explanation for your Audi being a bit more stable could be you were in a room where SRF was on. You can't change it because it's "greyed" out... most rooms it says it's off, while in some rooms it says it's on.

You can see that when you adjust your settings. (ABS, TC. etc etc)

Cheers

Ah, thanks! I didn't notice that there are different settings in the rooms. That would explain it.

Cheers

I have noticed some drivers "glitching" or what you might call it...
At the end of the races they suddenly rise on the scoreboards..
I noticed one guy who came in behind me at like 7th or something, but suddenly there was a shift on the screen and Viola - he was suddenly in 3rd place???
Have noticed this several times.. Also in the starting line-up some players "just happen" to be in the first three slots at the start of every game..
Great challenges BTW :D

Holy Hell! 6:53??? I need a lot of work haha it was just me and this guy named "OldStyleGamer969" the man was pretty fast and crazy clean. You don't meet very many guys like him in QM. This is one of his slower times. He killed me with a 7:02 2 races before. We went head to head for about 5 races before I left. The way he went around the Porsche curves though, the man had to have a wheel. I couldn't keep up with my doodoo DS3.

I saw a chicane cutter get penalized 1 lap last night. I actually got a legitimate win.
I've seen this happen only a couple of times - the corner cutters getting zapped with a 1 lap penalty. Perhaps PSN have been reading these posts?? Hope they're trying to institute a penalty of enough magnitude to discourage cutting corners in all the QM's,, sure would make a wonderful idea (the QM's) a much more enjoyable experience for the good to better drivers, AND that for certain would help those less experienced or lesser skilled drivers get better!! Just say'n,,,

I too have noticed the other cars becoming more competitive in the last few days. Before these last couple maintenance shut downs it seemed in the Historic Prototype race the 787 and Jag were the cars of choice with the Sauber being #3, now I'm using the 89 and 92 Nissans and hang'n with the field inspite of the Jag still being the fastest,, but it's NOT the quickest through the corners. In the Historic races we see most of the corner cutting.

In the newer Prototype races, previously the FWD GTR and Toyota TS30 seemed to run away with the race, we now see more of the other cars placing well - AND - we see alot less corner cutting and better drivers. Perhaps since I've learned to have thick skin, ignore the connection lagging, disconnects, penalties and bashing issues and concentrate more on a good start, driving as clean a line as I can I've improved enough to be more competitive?? In any event I'm a huge fan of these QM's and drive them almost exclusively. Haven't run in a typical lobby race for quite a few weeks and honestly don't miss them. Was getting real tired of the poor payouts (substantially less than in GT5!),, and waiting while tuning and banter delayed races,, most times for entirely too long. BUT,, if that's what "Floats your Boat" and you have more fun tuning and visiting between races then that's what you enjoy,, just wasn't my fun.

I usually adjust the brake balance at the start - sometimes you can, and sometimes you can't, I wonder why it varies?

I've tested this, on a race when I was along way in front - sure enough, I went from 1st place to 7th........
