He's a kid from our school. That's all l know. I thought l heard it was suicide but that might have been someone else. It was last night. Will add details later.

Was in fact suicide.

No l didn't know him but everyone's crying over it, l guess he was a pretty popular kid. I heard he got in a fight with his parents but thats just a rumor.

Sorry to hear it mate. It's a shame that someone as young as that just throws their life away.

^ Agreed, it's a shame that people can be driven to commit suicide, without getting any help. Really sorry to hear about it.

Sorry to hear that. Everyone deserves a full life, sadly this guy didn't get one...

Again, just a rumor, but apparently it was suicide by shotgun.

Brayton Baker was a freshman. He was on the football team and a popular, happy-go-lucky kid that had a lot to look forward to in life. Unfortunately, he got into a fight with his mom and, caught up in the moment, committed suicide - gun shot.
To make things worse, when the coroner showed up at his house, she showed up drunk.
Rest in Peace Brayton. You left far before your time.

I recently went throught the same situation. My school has lost a good 6 people in the last 3 years, let alone a few personal losses in my life. It sucks, but the best you can do is move on, and never forget. It gets better. Rest in peace bud.

I feel sympathy for your loss. a few years back my music teacher died of cancer and she was my best teacher. my life hasn't been the same without her since.

What a quitter...

I hope the "fight with his parents" rumor is just that, a rumor, because if not, thats pretty lame and childish.

I feel sorry for the parents the most in times like this.

It's not a rumor, and why don't you go talking like that around here? I garuntee you you'll get your 🤬 kicked to the ground.

Is that so?

All I'll say is that I feel bad for all the people this child's selfish actions have affected.

I repeat what l said.

Sorry to hear that man.

14 years ago I lost my girlfriend at the time to a car crash. It was a horrible day and I can still remember it to this day. Then 2 years later two of my friends were drinking and they hit a tree and passed away.It was some tough times indeed so I know were your coming from man.

Yea a couple years back my friend lost his girlfriend to a car crash. I don't really remember much about it though.

:ouch: I haven't lost any non family members I was close to. I don't know how one could drive oneself to suicide when it's possible to iron out the problems normally, keeping your life and your dignity. I'll understand someday. Sorry to hear.

Some pretty disrespectful comments. If one of my peers died I would stand up for them even if I didn't like them or if I didn't know them.

I second that. I had a Grade 12 at my school died after being hit by an amtrack. Even though i'm up in canada Amtrack still runs into Ontario. After i found out from the grade 12's, i told a couple of people in my civic's class what happened, and then the chaplin came on the PA system. I'm getting memories of that now as i'm writing this and i just remember the despair that followed that annoucment. even though i didn't know him, i felt really bad for everyone else.
After the first hour, the rumors started up that he had commited suicide or that he had taken drugs and was high when the train hit him. I was told this true. however since him and I went to the same school and played football, even though he was 2 years older than me, we were called onto the field to hold a vigil. The one thing that our football coach told us that mattered to me at all was that he was a good boy and loved what he did and for any reason do not spread rumors that he commited suicide.

I Stood up for conner after he died. the fact was that he took a shortcut home and was listening to his Ipod. he crossed the tracks about 1/2 mile from the nearest crossing and didn't see it or hear it.

I Get where you are coming from and I have one last Hurrah before I end this rant. To all the People who have posted disrepectful comments i find that disturbing. SRV2LOW4ME Why don't you get off of this thread and stop trolling. You are disrepecting the dead and that in my book that is unforgivable. when people are trying to grief with him and relate situations that they have been through, you're on here trying to say how much of a quitter and low life he was and be a complete jerk to this person. so the question i have for you people who disrepect the departed is... WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!!!??? you have no respect for the dead and of this person whom you have never heard of until now!
if someone commits suicide they generally have nobody to take to or have had enough and snapped. sorry if I make enemies but people who don't show respect for others who die need to get their heads shaken a bit and their reality put back in place. If this gets me a ban then i'm sorry for mentioning names. however I think everyone on this thread will agree that people how disrespect the dead that they have never heard of before then they need to be told otherwise.

I feel for his friends and family, it's always tragic when a young person with a full life ahead of them dies before their time. When that young person has taken their own life, however, it must be very difficult for their loved ones to comprehend.

Someone on these forums once said that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem - and that certainly sounds like it applies in this case. It is tragic that this young man, seemingly a popular and well-loved guy, couldn't see beyond his upset state, for whatever reason, to realise how senseless an act ending his own life would be. That in itself is tragic, and arguably is worthy of a degree of sympathy. I agree that suicide can often be an extremely selfish act, but that doesn't take away from the tragedy of the situation.

I hope that his friends and family can come to terms with their loss in time, but undoubtedly it's going to be a very hard time for many people. My condolences.

OK guys, enough.

It is OK to have a differing opinion, and to express it.

It is not OK to make threats or to make provoking statements.

If you disagree with another guy's opinion, take my strong advice and let it go.

Well than I stand by what I said, he was a childish, selfish quitter who thought he was teaching everyone a lesson, and in the end, showed everyone how lame of a person he really was.

I would expect the same to be said about me if I were to pull the stupid move he did. Emotions aside, its true and people know it.

P.S. Come at me bro

You're the childish, selfish and lame one. Saying that about someone who just died? That's low, man. That's really low. I agree with the fact that sometimes suicide can be a bit selfish, because you're just leaving everyone behind, but still - no need to call him childish and lame. :/

On another note - I feel really sorry his family. Sadly, suicide is pretty popular amongst young people. It's sad that our young generation can't even take life anymore. Just goes to show how f'ed up this world is.

EDIT: Only just seen mod's comment, posted as I was posting. I'm just stating my opinion there, not threatening.

Sad day for his family and friends.

*Gives a warm hug.
