Actually, this wouldn't be the first Rolls 4-door coupé come to think of it.

I bet that in the press release for the Wraith, Rolls won't mention anything to do with 'sportiness' but rather use terms relating to 'dynamic performance'.

Bet they don't mention the Nürburgring either! Actually, they talk about effortless power delivery and dynamism.

Rolls Royce Press release

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars today publishes the second image of its next model, Wraith, a hand-built motor car that exudes hallmark Rolls-Royce luxury and comfort whilst possessing a character defined by Power, Style and Drama.

For 108 years, effortless power delivery has been inherent to the Rolls-Royce brand promise. This image depicts Wraith’s muscular rear haunches – a visual cue that gives bold expression to Wraith’s promise of dynamism. A sense that this is a car set to move with purpose on its driver’s command.

And so to the question of Power. In times gone by, when asked the question, Rolls-Royce would simply reply, “Adequate, Sir”. However, for Wraith we feel it right to be a touch more explicit:

“More than ample.”

And,

Actually, this wouldn't be the first Rolls 4-door coupé come to think of it.

This isn't a 4 door coupe though anway.... is it?

I think it's a 4-door coupé in the same way a Mazda RX8 is a 4-door coupé, 2 small 'suicide' doors.

I got the impression that that was just made to look that way on the camo. It would have been a good idea IMO, but it looks like it's just a 2 door from the previous teaser ....

Well, that camouflaged one does have 2 separate doorhandles as well but that could indeed be part of the camouflage I guess.
Maybe you're right but somehow I still think it's going to be a 4-door coupé.

Seeing that they are going to name it Wraith not Ghost it's likely that they could make a 4 door coupe version of it. They have sedan, coupe and droptop versions of the Phantom, why would they change the name of the Ghost coupe? They could being thinking of making a 4 door coupe version of it but cause they already have a sedan of it, they would have to give it a different name and make it seem like a different car. Kind of like what BMW is doing making the 1,3,5 series the sedans and 2,4,6 series the coupes.

The name change doesn't indicate to me whether it's a 2 or 4-door coupé though, Rolls-Royce usually had different names for 2-door coupés as well, it's the current Phantom coupé and convertible which are more exception than rule.

Yeeup, I'd buy one. I love the Phantom Coupe, and since the Ghost is better looking than the Phantom, this should be great!
No it's not!:grumpy: You'd buy one becasue you're a cheap-o and can't afford the Phantom

How respectful. I think that this car probably will be the prettiet car in RR's lineup, but I'm not a fan of their design.

If money were no object I'd take both, or either, but on looks alone, the Ghost handles it's size better than the Phantom handles it's Gigantism - so I'd go for a Ghost... plus... the Wraith has more power, and will be lighter than any of the others... :D :D

By posting these you're only perpetuating the sort of irritating bullcrap companies like Rolls-Royce use before launching new models :sly:

If any other company released an image of a doorskin you'd tell them to sod off. I can't honestly say R-R doing it is any more interesting.

And is it me, or does that clock look a bit like a $15 Swatch watch?

I was fooled by the metal plate surrounding it at first, because I thought it looked fine until I noticed how how incredibly cheap that timepiece looks on its own.

It may not be a great fit for a R-R, but at least it does the job.

Meh. I don't like the two-tone brown, but even without the paint the roofline seems a bit...fat.

Ah crap, I've really been looking forward to this.. and they done gone n' made it awkward looking... It really needed a boot lid, rather than a fastback style tail, as now it looks massively tall and flabby at the tail-end, and it makes the wheels (which are probably gigantic) look small.

Guess I'll retract my prior statement, I'd probably still go for the Phantom Coupe instead of the Wraith.

Though it's still miles better looking than the Bentley bug GT thing.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Hopefully one day, we'll laugh at how stupid, pointless, and wasteful all this promo-teaser-buzz-trailer nonsense really is. I was hoping that was going to happen in 2011, but I suppose life goes on.

I would try something a bit different with this car's paint scheme.

See that sharp crease flowing off the top of the roof along the rear window? I would make that the separation line between colors and leave the buttresses the same as the lower body. Currently, the roof and buttresses look like a removable hard top or - even worse - a mismatched truck cap you'd see on an old, crappy American pickup truck. Ew.

I've never noticed this issue with their other cars. Something about the fastback roofline doesn't go well with two-tone, definitely not considering what we see in the States which are hillbillies who can't afford to paint their truck caps.

I dunno, I think it works well - provided you can see at least some of the front of the car too, since the hood is also two-tone. As a whole, it works well, though I can see what you're getting at with the truck cap thing.

Don't get me wrong, I love Rolls's designs from the past few years. All of them have been wonderfully traditional and elegant, though not perfect. But something went wrong with the Wraith. This is what I see in this picture:

The two-tone really ruins the roof in my eyes. I would have to make it a single color.

Front 3/4's - awesome
Rear 3/4's - hiddeous
Prodile - OK

Pics in Deathsmiles 1st post look very nice 👍

The roof will have to be 2 tone or the whole car will look horrendously unbalanced at the rear.

If the rest of the interior is anything like the wood door cards.... dribble!
