I bet that in the press release for the Wraith, Rolls won't mention anything to do with 'sportiness' but rather use terms relating to 'dynamic performance'.
Rolls Royce Press release
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars today publishes the second image of its next model, Wraith, a hand-built motor car that exudes hallmark Rolls-Royce luxury and comfort whilst possessing a character defined by Power, Style and Drama.
For 108 years, effortless power delivery has been inherent to the Rolls-Royce brand promise. This image depicts Wraiths muscular rear haunches a visual cue that gives bold expression to Wraiths promise of dynamism. A sense that this is a car set to move with purpose on its drivers command.
And so to the question of Power. In times gone by, when asked the question, Rolls-Royce would simply reply, Adequate, Sir. However, for Wraith we feel it right to be a touch more explicit:
More than ample.
Actually, this wouldn't be the first Rolls 4-door coupé come to think of it.
This isn't a 4 door coupe though anway.... is it?![]()
I think it's a 4-door coupé in the same way a Mazda RX8 is a 4-door coupé, 2 small 'suicide' doors.
Maybe you're right but somehow I still think it's going to be a 4-door coupé.
No it's not!Yeeup, I'd buy one. I love the Phantom Coupe, and since the Ghost is better looking than the Phantom, this should be great!
No it's not!You'd buy one becasue you're a cheap-o and can't afford the Phantom
And is it me, or does that clock look a bit like a $15 Swatch watch?
Though it's still miles better looking than the Bentley bug GT thing.
By posting these you're only perpetuating the sort of irritating bullcrap companies like Rolls-Royce use before launching new models
If any other company released an image of a doorskin you'd tell them to sod off. I can't honestly say R-R doing it is any more interesting.
I dunno, I think it works well - provided you can see at least some of the front of the car too, since the hood is also two-tone. As a whole, it works well, though I can see what you're getting at with the truck cap thing.
Don't get me wrong, I love Rolls's designs from the past few years. All of them have been wonderfully traditional and elegant, though not perfect. But something went wrong with the Wraith. This is what I see in this picture:
