Fresh from the paint booth here she is, my Renault Devil R.S.01. Not having svg's for the drip patterns meant a lot of patience and decals to achieve the result. 115 decals on the hood alone and nearly 300 in total. Now it's time to get her on the track and see what she'll do. BTW, that was an interesting discussion about ahem… transmissions in the TPC chat today. I know it was Sturk's fault Kept me entertained as I was finishing the car lol.

Found this for @Bivittavus88 during my decal search. https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gtsport/user/discover/search/decal/decal/1337248/5909361598384832536

YESSS!!! That's what i like to see.. a bit of the Red Devils in da house!

Cutting it 2 or more peaces?

Yeh, the head was a separate decal...which I didn't add to my collection. A lot of the decals are multi part. When I happened to stumble upon Kaz, I thought "I know what I can do with this!", then sought to find a Ryuko decal I could replace the head with, just to annoy @Mistah_MCA ... Little did I know that the ideal candidate would be his own decal !

That's what I've had to do with some of the decals I uploaded. If a file is a bit over the limit, I remove some details to get it to meet the limit, but I wasn't able to with this one.

@Invisigoth I don't like you lol. I would blame @sturk0167 for your actions, but this isn't the Daily Race forums, which makes this out of his jurisdiction.

Maybe this can help you - tutorial if you don't know the program :) . You can "kill" some ot the unimportant colors before making the svg file :) .

I often hand-trace the vectors, since I want to use them elsewhere as well (and they'll be well detailed). I put some of the decals through SVGOMG, which usually gets me from, say, 20kb, to under 15kb. Case by case scenario. If it's still over 15kb, that's when I start deleting the smaller details.

I've tried vectorizer as well, but never had a good experience with them.

I get it now - I just saw your gallery :) . Your decals are not simple 2-lines-and-3dots :D .

That 15k limit is painful. You spend hours tweaking to try and remove as many points as possible, only to find it's *still* over . My avatar looks very simple, but I had to break it up into 4 parts to get it to upload :scared:.

I wish I knew how to make decals, but my laptop is over 10 years old at this point and probably not capable of even doing it. I do everything on here from my phone or tablet.
I was like that until my old laptop broke and grabbed a new one during the July Prime Day sales. Got a good one for $270. Bite the bullet man

That's your next best bet. A good range for a beginner laptop is $250-325. More than that and it's probably wasted on you. Depends on what else you like to do. Make sure to get an SSD though because it will run that much faster.

Give me a shout if you want something making, mate.

This side of Xmas, I don't have TOO much time. But, should be able to do most things that don't require initial design work.

I have a copy of Illustrator and some tutorials, but am a total noob with using it. I made some simple shapes with the line segment tool and couldn't figure out how to fill them in with color lol. I selected the fill button and all it changed was the color of the outline. After a couple of tries I just gave up and never went back. I really need to go back and learn it as I have some ideas for liveries that I would like to make.

It's not the worst, but many of the images I try to convert come out rounder, softer, & slightly blurrier.

I use a Chromebook & Vectorizer. It's not as precise as Inkscape, but I've gotten lucky with many decals already being in .svg & many are below 15kb.

That would irritate me haha. I'm a sucker for detail and sharpness in making these decals/vectors. That, and it's almost zen-like for me to trace it out.

@Pigems @Chevy Heavy if you two ever need help with making decals on GTSport, feel free to ping me. :)

Soooo, if you're feeling super generous . . Could you maybe see if you can svg the top line of text?
