Ah, so it's a matter of "Car X is better than Y on ovals, but Y handles better, meaning that it's superior to X on Road tracks".
How it really works is this
  • I got a NR2003 Ratings Calculator off the internet which uses user-inputted results to create ratings
  • I then determined which ratings each car should get the Biggest Buff, the Big Buff, the Tiny Buff and the Tiny Nerf
  • After determining that, I put on either the + amount or - amount at the end of the formula
So, while the car changes things, the driver you pick is still the most important part.

Wow, this is as intricate as I though it would be. So in a way, even the best car could be driven poorly if the driver lacked the skills to do so.

I believe that Mitsubishi is the fastest because of 4WD system.

That's not how it works, silly. 4WD system means you can handle better, but not go faster...

Yes, the goal with this system was to make it as focused on the driver as possible while making each car different

Neat, that's my kind of championship, variety while trying to balance things out. Although that just means I'm becoming worried with my driver lineup...

I'm already worried about how Jann Mardenborough would do, since his stats will be much lower than a championship winning F1/NASCAR driver.

After the 1st race, drivers can be released/signed/traded between competitors. Whether or not that's a good idea or not is up to you

So far, the worst rating for a driver in a category that the driver raced in is 54

Well, that depends. If I was quick on my feet, I'd probably go for the best drivers. Problem is, most people would also try to grab the best drivers to fill in gaps within their own teams. In a way, it's like a game of Football Manager; you want to create a dream team, but you lack the budget (so to speak) and have to search deeper. And I don't think many people here are willing to part ways with their drivers... (because they already picked them in terms of quality)

On Christmas day, if you've already registered, you can request one 1 hour test session for your team, simply say a track on the schedule, and I'll run a 1 hour session, at the end of the session I will privately message you your team times.

Consider it my Christmas present to all of you.

Neat-o, a private testing session. Feels like F1 already.

And thanks for the gift man, appreciate it. :)👍

Is there any kind of buff/nerfing for drivers according to the type of tracks they primarily run on? For example, would a NASCAR driver get a bonus for ovals, while a F1 driver would get a bonus for road courses?

The formula takes care of that in terms of where a series races

Here are my liveries :)

Nothing special

Previews?

Just a reminder, in 8 and a half hours, testing will open, create a conversation with me including your username in the title, and in that conversation say where you would like the testing to occur. I will run the test for you and send you the results in that conversation (The hour test will be simulated, so it won't take an hour)

Question: Can we swap drivers halfway through the 1 hour of testing? Or can all drivers participate?

So i had a thought about testing tomorrow. Maybe if some teams test at the same track you could maybe post a public thing about what teams were fastest at what tracks.

Of the three I've gotten so far, all 3 have been on different tracks.

I'm here now, and to be frank there are three cars that look half-decent bare, the Audi, the Toyota, and the Prelude. Let's do this thing!

Team Drivers: 1992 NASCAR Winston Cup Champion Alan Kulwicki, 2005 F1 Runner-Up Kimi Raikkonen, 2014 IZOD Indycar Champion Will Power.

Also, it may be a bit before I can post a car.
