yea sorry for the long waiting again but the internet here in the Emirates isnt the fastest yet (1-2Mbit max).

Thanks

Chris

In fact, that race was the 8th try to get matched up.

I enjoyed the fight with Hyperspeed, good racing as always 👍 I hope I didn't cause you any trouble there in Spoon. Chris did a solid drive and managed to pull away because we were fighting. Well done.

Still this race leaves me with a strange feeling.

*BUMP

Sad, has anyone actually raced?

It can't all be going down tonight.

Apparently, me and LinPark were not able to race DeathWalker because of a broken PS3. What's happening about that, I do not know! Anyone else still remember this champs (other than timeattack, may and madforce) ?

There are 2 left to race. 1 was planned to go ahead last night, not sure if it did or not. My one is planned tonight.

Will update soon. Sorry.

PureGT_May vs GTP_timeattack vs GTRP_Madforce Eliminated: GTP_timeattack :(

Well, the race was just as intense and dramatic as we expected it to be :) Great fun even though I was eliminated  It was another one of those races that really could have gone in the favor of either one of us...this time I was the one of the receiving end of the bad luck though. So there's nothing to be ashamed of, especially when racing drivers the caliber of these two :sly:

Congratulations to MAY and Madforce for putting up a valiant effort to advance  I'll be cheering for you guys in the following rounds 👍

I'll just do a quick lap by lap summary of the race and let the videos do the rest of the speaking 👍

Don't mind me driving across the grass at a few points like a lawn mower at Degner and 130R :dunce: I hadn't gotten much seat time in the car in the past few weeks and was trying to push as hard as I could without going off  Just wanted to say sorry to MADFORCE and MAY for throwing up all that dust and what not :yuck:

Lap 1: I had pole position so I led MAY and MADFORCE for the entirity of the first lap.

Lap 2: MAY and MAD had gotten a nice run on me approaching T1 going onto the 2nd lap. We were 3 wide entering T1 with myself on the outside, so I decided to sit back instead of trying something stupid and beaching it. MAD had held the lead through the chicane and went for his pit stop at the end of lap 2.

Lap 3: Now it was just MAY and myself out front after MAD had pitted. MAY ended up putting a wheel off at the exit of Degner 2, allowing me to pass him and get a 1 second lead or so. At the end of my lap I ended up pitting, just to get that out of the way and maintain my rhythm.

Lap 4: When I exited the pits I came out about a second behind the two, which I quickly made up as they were duking it out side by side. At the end of the lap MAY went for his pit stop.

Lap 5: Just me and MAD out front with MAY roughly 1.5-2 seconds behind and all of our pit stops out of the way.

Lap 6: This time MAD had a slight off at the exit of Degner 2 which allowed me to regain the lead, just as MAY had done earlier. This unfortunately (for MAD and myself) allowed MAY to get back within drafting distance of us, where he was able to quickly reel us in. I recall MAY saying he ran a 2'04.xxx on that lap with the help of our draft...so yea, try getting away from that in free air

Lap 7: MAY was now right up on our butts. MAD pulled a nice out braking move on me going into T1 to regain the lead. Later that lap I had gotten a nice run on MAD and was able to pass him just prior to 130R. It was really starting to become a scrap at this point :scared:

Lap 8: Both MAY and MAD were hot on my tail. Unfortunately MAY ended up rear ending me into the sand at T1. No biggie though, as he and MAD waited 👍 Later that lap I was able to get a run on MAD to pass him just prior to 130R again. He returned the favor with a superb inside outbraking move at the chicane to recapture the lead going onto lap 9 👍

Lap 9: The real turning point of the race. At this point the positions were MAD, me, MAY exiting Spoon. I decided to bumpdraft MAD as we approached 130R, as I didn't want to pass him to soon and end up in the unfavorable 3rd place going onto the last lap. I was hoping to make the move to reclaim first heading down the main straight going onto lap 10, but that never happened.

What happened next is a bit controversial IMO, especially considering the earlier incident we had when I had gotten pushed off by MAY under braking into T1. I was as close as possible to MAD's bumper as we hit the entry point for 130R. MAY decided to stick his nose in under me, forcing me to back off, otherwise I would have likely wound up being pushed off track. I ended up backing off politely and let MAY go through. What happened next was a bit unfortunate for the both of us and particularly me, as I ended up getting the short end of the stick in the end. Because MAY was on the inside of 130R his cornering speed and line were of course less than ideal. I was on the outside and had the superior line of course. I ended up taking the corner a bit too fast considering MAY was on the line that forced him to go slower to make the corner. I ended up accidentally nudging MAY slightly, which caused him to run a bit wide and put a wheel off at the exit of 130R. As you can tell in the video, it was just enough to spin him out though :guilty: After the accident, I pulled over and waited for MAY and let him regain his position.

Lap 10: Now it was just me and MAY fighting it out for the advancing position :scared::crazy:... while MAD had a comfortable lead after the previous incident involving MAY and myself. I was right on MAY's tail up until the hairpin. The hairpin was the REAL deal breaker for me though. I came in the hairpin pretty aggressively, while MAY went through a lot slower than usual it seemed. I ended up getting jammed up and out of late reaction drove a bit into the grass to avoid hitting MAY in the rear...this totally killed my momentum exiting the hairpin :nervous: The jam up was just enough to give MAY a nice gap up to Spoon. Not sure if it was his plan to hold me up at the chicane, but it definitely was a good game plan if he did 👍 :sly:

I was able to make up about 1-2 cars through the spoon complex, but it wasn't enough to be able to make a pass on MAY going down the straight, prior to 130R. At this point my only option left was to outbrake one of the best GT drivers in the world going into the chicane. MAY wisely stuck to the inside under braking going into the chicane and defended his position nicely. At that point it didn't look like MAY was going to make any mistakes exiting the chicane, so my chances of advancing were falling out of reach at this point. I ended up crossing the line 2 tenths behind MAY...the end of the road for me in the ROC :dunce:

Here are the videos 👍 I had to separate them into 2 parts do to YT 11 minute video limit. Sorry for all of the racket in the background! I should have closed my windows as the blinds kept banging against the window due to the wind outside...rrrrrr.

Part 1

gratz Madforce and MAY. 👍 sorry for you timeattack.

holl, alexi and me tried yesterday to race, but holl missed our race. :indiff:
now i´m waiting for them, but no one is online yet.

good write up TA 👍

at minute 4.14(2º video) if you watch carefully.. TA your braking point should have been a bit later (the normal braking point is almost over the horizontal line) .. but in the hot of the race and that little touch before in the straight and adding the connections (in your screen, my car was jumping all over the places.. in my screen yours jumping , mad car was fine 👍) even trying i couldnt avoid it.. that happens.. sorry :P

on the last lap.. as i said i made the hairpin as i use to do.. going always a bit for the outside to get more exit speed specially in races to avoid a bit of slipstream... your exit wasnt that good though.. and that was it! well the video shows well everything :)

anyway.. i think the key of the the race was at lap 9 on our crash... i was there on the same place before and i knew that if i didnt make the move on lap 9 my chances to pass were very small because its hard to pass someone whos chasing someone.. and i got surprised that you didnt try it to overtake MAD there.. so i saw my chance.. and you seemed surprised though and pufff.. a single wheel(rear) on the grass on 130R its worst than 2 wheels :( and MAD went away from us smiling :D

was an exicting race and watching it too 👍 love this event with 3 players :) at this point anyone could have pass or not

edit: " now i'll fight in the name of that soldier" ;)

BTH_szoag vs Zocker16_GTRP vs GTP_JackStanley

Here is the race report for our race:

Started off at 9 oclock last night. Few practice laps and a DC. We get away to race just after 10.

The race began with Zocker taking the lead into turn 1. We all follow for a lap looking at eachothers driving style, putting eachother under pressure and trying to find weak spots. Clean quick driving, average first lap.

Start of lap 2 and I cause an accident. I go to pass szoag down the inside at turn 1. Made the pass so many time in practice, and with R1's there is a small gap for error. I pull out to make the overtake and take the lead, szoag keeps his outside line and I carry in to much speed. I tap szoag's door and push him out into the sand. Zocker carries on and gets a 4 - 5 second lead. Big mistake by me, which then leaves me to think its down to us two, too battle for this final place.

The rest of lap 2, I was a little nervous. Having causes the accident, it messes with my rythem and Im forced to hold back. Another mistake and its game over! I hang back for lap 3 and 4 seeing if we are making any time on zocker. Turns out the gap isnt closing so I press on.

Szoag didnt want to follow and wants to battle it out for this position. I can see the race going down to the wire. We battle until lap 8, overtaking only 1 other racer. At this stage zocker maintains his lead and is pretty much safe.... so I thought.

Through Degner and braking for the harpin. Zocker is rejoining the track with a Cilo  Hes been punted... Me and szoag pass and I dive into the pits on lap 8. I rejoin infront of zocker and carry on. Lap 9 szoag pits and we are a group again. Battling it out for the last 2 laps. I pull back and watch the two guys fighting for the position, and decide I will try and pass on the final lap...

Down the back straight on lap 9 and there are 2 cilo. A GT5net member and some Italian guy. Turns out they are both punters. The [IT] crashes and isnt a problem anymore.

Lap 10 and heading into turn 1. Szoag leads, zocker 2nd, Cilo, then me. I get stuck behind him. Cant pass, and hes blocking my every attempt to pass in the esses. Hes holding me off the back of the 2 guys and I can see them fading away with nothing I can do. Im bouncing off his bumper, nothing I do works. Down the back straight and the Cilo is to fast. He tap zocker into zsoag and he runs wide at 130r. I pull along side under brakes and try to pass around the outside. On the exit zsaog get very sideways infront of me. I clip his rear end and he spun. I give him the position and he takes 2nd place. My race over thanks to a Cilo.

So if you read this GT5net, I cant remember your tag name, but thanks for messing the race up. Dont think Ive ever come across such a bad group of tagged racers as you guys. Nothing but problems with all of you. 👎

Not to take anything away from zocker or szoag though. Quick and clean as expected. We where all out the same pace, just a shame it finished as it did. Who needs private rooms, ey  :(

Looks like we have a few excellent battles on our hands here, great racing. 👍

dramatic losts on this round  this shows all the quality of the players involved.. always hot races and very fairly managed! 👍 congrats zocker and szoag for passing  jack i dont think you can talk about GT5net on that way.. because i know some very good racers there and we are back again to those subjects.. there's everything in all communitys.. the good and the bad its always present.. though, its a shame that you had the unlucky to find a bad one :( private rooms.. omg .. why pd dont give that to us!? its so simple.. why not!? :( :(

yea i was just thinking, even the Race driver: Grid "demo" had private lobbys for goodness sake. makes no sense :dunce:

Just my opinion MAY. Ive had nothing but problems with them online. They seem to have a lack of respect on the track, by putting their cars in stupid places and being over aggressive. I wouldnt make a point like that if I had nothing to back it up with. Just the way I feel.

so we did it.

1) Rudi
2) holl
3) alexi

not much to say. holl went out in round 4, and i was cruising home. :dopey:

thanks for racing mates. 👍

Yeah a dissapointing race, not much action, I spun lap 3 or 4 and then spun twice more after that, managed to regain composure and pass alexi a few laps later and we preceded home in an uneventful fashion from then on, cheers;)

well done Rudi and Dan
quote: "Unlucky for Alexi to be paired with 2 fastys" +1 👍

i guess that on the next round we'll face again the same man of this round, right!? or another mix?
