The new Fanatec wheel will be 300Euros That's £238! or $400 (but as everything's cheaper across the pond I wouldn't be surprised if it's more like $300 in the States.)

I have been reading about the new Fanatec wheel (even signed up to be a beta tester). I can't imagine it not delivering. The PS3 Fanatec wheel has garnered quite a positive response from testers. Not to mention, their new high end pedals/cockpit/etc.. (all in beta testing). If it all works out The Xbox should see an upsurge of simulation games heading to it. The more consoles with simulation games on them the better, in my opinion.

;)

Force Feedback now working in Forza 2 and info about pedal compatibility

Submitted by Thomas on Fri, 10/24/2008 - 10:26.

We finally managed to get force feedback signals working in the game which was the last big obstacle in finalizing the development.

I am also happy to announce that the Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel (PWTS) will be working with 4 different pedals.

Standard pedals (similar to PWT but wired)
Clubsport pedals
Logitech G25 pedals
Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel for Xbox 360

The last 2 options will be relevant for customers who choose to buy the "Pure" edition which is only the wheel without pedals. There will also be a Clubsport edition which features the new clubsport pedals.

Pricing, availability and full technical specs will be announced next week here on the blog.

When I am back in Germany in two weeks, I will make a comprehensive video of PWTS and introduce all features

Got this from the fanatec blog

Here are all the infos you wanted to hear about the new Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel.

First of all. This wheel is a LIMITED EDITION and we are not planning to make any other wheel of this quality level for the Xbox soon. So you will get something truly exclusive each with a number plate and serial number.

The production is schedules to start in march 2009.

We will start with the pre-sales this week and all pre-orders get a significant discount. Of course only until an edition is sold out.

There will be 3 different editions to satisfy all tastes and to reach are broad audience.

The most affordable will be the "Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel Pure Edition". It starts at 149,95 USD / EUR (regular 199,95USD EUR).

High-end wheel with belt drive, ball bearings, super strong Force feedback and leather wheel
Compatible to Xbox 360 (can be upgraded)
shifters optional
no pedals included but compatible with the pedals of the Microsoft wheel or the G25 (and the Porsche wheel pedals of course)

The regular version is very similar to the existing Porsche 911 Turbo and goes for 249,95 EUR / USD (regular 349,95 EUR / USD)

With the RF dongle this wheel is compatible to PC and Playstation 3 without any limitations.
New RF technology for improved performance and distance
Wired pedals with clutch included
Big metal paddle shifters
The 6+1 shifter is compatible to all current games which support manual shifting, including Forza2

The "Porsche 911 Turbo S Clubsport edition" includes the new high-end pedals fully made of metal and sells for 399,95 EUR / USD (regular 499,95 EUR/USD)

All features of PWTS but with Clubsport Pedals (CSP)
Pressure sensitive loadcell sensor
Adjustable brake force
Vibration motors for clutch and brake
contactless sensors with unlimited lifetime and superior precision
ultra solid construction

The first price of each is the pre order price. The second is the price after the release of the wheel. It should be out in april.
I wonder if the high end pedals are worth an extra 150$. They say that you will be able to use the g25 pedals with it, and I do like the g25 pedals. There saying that the high end 911 pedals will have vibration in the brake. I know if I don't pay the extra, I will always wonder what could have been.

Anyway, thought I would share this. I can't wait to try make the switch from g25 to 911. This all in one wheel sounds almost to good to be true. One wheel for all platforms is gonna make switching to another game so much easier.

Just played this at the MPH show, it felt like the game grid should have been: great graphics and more importantly spot on physics.

Good news, thanks. All we had to try out at MPH @ Earls Court was Need for Speed Undercover, I tried it for a couple of minutes and frankly.................it sucked I was happy to put it down. My 7 year old son enjoyed it though. I was getting a bit worried that things had gone a bit quiet on the RACE Pro front but hearing that they've brought it out for the masses to play at MPH has reassured me that all is well and the game's on it's way.

Now to wait patiently for my Fanatec wheel and I may have no need for my PS3 for a while.

On the small RacePro stand it said Jan release. Also I got a very fast ride in a Dodge Viper GTS/R at MPH !

Has anyone heard anything about race pro's online features. I have been looking and haven't found anything mentioned, other then 12 player online racing. Race teams, tournaments, anything. I guess as long as there are private rooms, GTP members will probably hold some sort of online events.

I can't wait on race pro, it's just a shame that I will have to wait another couple of months after it's release for the new 360 fanatec wheel. I might even wait until the porsche wheel comes out before I buy race pro. I would hate to have to use the ms wheel, when I could wait a little longer and get the full racing experience.

You do realise the Fanatec Xbox 360 wheel is sold out, right?

I pre ordered the clubsport edition the first day it was listed. I should get mine in april. Plus, it's not sold out yet, the first production has sold out. That just means that anyone else that orders it, will get it 1 month later.

You have to be joking about the graphics, right? They were dreadful, even comparing them to the screenshots showed at the beginning of the thread. Seriously guys, they look terrible in comparison and are no where near on par to Race Driver Grid's. On terms on physics, I wouldn't be able to say as the graphics put me off even attempting a go.

What are you saying? Did the game look nothing like the screenshots or videos that are out. The videos I have seen on you tube looked really good. You tube is a lot different then actually seeing it though, so you would know better then I would.

How was the sound, it seemed like from the videos I have seen that the sound was top notch, but once again, I was watching a video on my laptop, so I really can't give a valid opinion.

6 New Videos for RACE Pro:

Damage modelling looks nice, rain effects look good, views look good, sound effects seem a little disjointed especially on the GT's at Monza vid but I'm sure that'll be sorted.

Liking the setup options and replay angles.

Obviously the driving was intentionally bad to show off certain aspects of the game, I'm impressed by the cutting warnings...........hopefully there are simillar warnings turn onable for bad driving.

And another Vid of Road America

Nice to have Martin Haven doing the commentary

What's going on Jonboy ;)

Looks like I'll have to get this, what's the deal on the wheels though? I still have my MS Force Feedback one but I'd prefer a better one or Logitech support.

Saiyu.......................is that you Chris? If so I hope to see you on this game soon mate, it'd be great to re-kindle some of our memorable old TRD3 races..........I still remember our battles with V8's at Eastern Creek and Formula Palmer Audi's at Brands Hatch with you mate.

For a better wheel than the M$ one have a look here mate:

It works on your 360 and PS3 and has the potential to be even better than the G25!

heheh those were some good times. That wheel looks promising, the Porsche influence definitely looks sweet.

is it just me or the crashing/impact sounds from the videos sound terrible? Hopefully its not that bad in the game.

I just read something disturbing in another forum about the 911 turbo s wheel coming out.

"From the start of RacePro, the support for the 6+1 shifter and clutch will be missing and there is no support for the 900° which is not that relevant as those racecars only have 360° anyway.

We are still discussing additional features like the LED support but the protocol of the Xbox 360 is not very flexible. We might have to discuss that game developers directly as well."
That's a quote from thomas.

No clutch or shifter support for race pro. I guess most race cars probably have paddle shifters in them nowadays anyway. I will miss it though. It kinda sounds like microsoft isn't going to let them really implement this wheel. If sim bin isn't going to fully support it, who will?

After reading that quote again, maybe he means just in the beginning. Hopefully there will be a patch to add the support.

Yeah I saw somewhere else Thomas said that they were expecting SimBin to get a patch out in time for the release of the PWTS so it's not that big a worry as the first batch of PWTS's won't be available until March and most of us will have had RACE Pro 2 months by then
