So if day/nights cycle is part of the race, i wonder how dark the tracks will be with new lighting effects.I'm hoping all the exterior lights, are now useable so we can see ahead & others can see you say if it's foggy or something.Delete this thread if it's pointless mods.

I'd really like to see the tracks be realistically lit if there are in fact night courses/options.

Imagine running Nurburgring at night, only being able to see what the headlights reveal...

...oh snap...hold on...pants...they're tight in the front...

seems the tokyo can support night time since there are street lights....and since they modelled almost everyting in the track in 3d..is it easier for the weather effects to be implemented or not?

I wouldn't get your hopes up for day/night cycles outside of the three 24 hour tracks, Daytona, Nurburgring, and Le Mans

Like I said...

Nurburgring + Night + Headlights = Pants tight in front

would be sweet, i really gotta say, hey imagine the cars equipped with foglights adding an extra advantage during night time driving with more track being exposed to the lights... pants in front is slowly bulging:scared:!

Nurburgring + Night + Headlights = Nurburgring + Night + Headlights

Simple as that really. Keep hoping, you might get it some decade.

Im hoping for headlights that actually cast beams of light and illuminate things, even the cheezy initial d games have that....

Im guessing that PD might be working on that. Notice the lack of a night time track in GT5P?

wouldn't just call it hoping it would be nice new feature listed on the rear of the package, as well as reverse lights for once!

Would be nice to feature working indicators & hazard warning lights + driving lights, passing flashing lights, quad Hella, PIAA & Lucas spotlamps on rally cars & yes fog lights, that is why i mentioned fog :)👍.I guess would be a first in car games to have all lights fully functioning. When the side lights come on, the interior lights should also be visible too.

hazards, fog's, and reverse lights fully functioning would be enough in my opinion, turn indicators would be pointless and a waste of a button configuration on a Gran Turismo series.

if there was 24 races like this..with weather..i would definitely do the whole 24 hrs without bspec mode ..if any( gotta allocate those hours in advance :embarrassed:

yea random weather and sunlight changes as a new features would make GT all the more 'the real driving "simulator"'!

I remember watching Top Gear where they raced the bmw on the 24hour race. That really showed just how hard it is to race at night. I want that experience.

I also hope for that except I want them to take it a step further. I am very anal when it comes to lighting either in a game or real life. I think projectors should cast a different beam than regular reflector headlights. Same goes for halogen or HIDs and their brightness/colors.

I also want the lighting to be real time and cast real shadows. The Initial D video you posted has nice lighting but all they did was brighten up the area where the headlight hits. Lots of games do this. I want a light to cast a shadow of everything it hits. If I'm in my GTR racing around a night track and I come up on an NSX, I want my headlights to cast a shadow of the NSX when I'm on its rear end. Not just light up its rear bumper.

I know, that is very nitpicky of me but I believe if you're going to do something, go all out or don't do it at all.:sly:

It's like when you press your brakes there should be a bright shade of red ( different brightness for different brake bulbs of course ) & i guess the same scenario when different types of reverse lights are on with the extra effect from hazard lights etc.If they get it right it should be a decent low budget light show.

What about damage... knock out your headlights with by driving into someones arse and now you can't see buggery?!?

Yeah i'll go with that :).If all rear lights are broken if when driving in the fog, then expect more damage from other racers.

So I take it you will not be buying/playing GT5 then?

Did I say that anywhere in my post? I simply said that if you're going to do something, go all out. If not then leave it out because it is never good to do something half ass. Doesn't mean I won't be buying and playing the game. I have GT5P right now and I enjoy playing it even if it is missing a lot of things. I just don't want the final GT5 to have night racing and have the lights be exactly the same as in GT4. That just wouldn't work at all on a track like the Nurburgring. I don't want to have to turn the contrast down and brightness up on my TV just to be able to see where I'm going. lol

No, thats equal to feeling your pants a bit heavier and wet.

Anyway, i think its a great idea, and that i could be implemented with a headlights button that could fit perfectly in a G25 or a G27 (maybe it'll make a DS3 a bit clogged). PD has the tools to make something like that, so why not making it?

Thinking about this, from remembering Jezza, Hamster & J M taking their BMW to Silverstone.Hamster was still driving in the fog, for quite a lot of laps the reason the race was stopped, was because of very poor visibility ( fog got heavier & heavier ).So races can still go on in mist/fog.Races in rain are stopped, when deep puddles are on the track ( in motorbike races that is ), just too slippery.
