Hiya Matt,
As promised I finally got the time to break out the NSX-R around Grand Valley II.
Ran a handful of laps in free run before I attempted the race to set the car up and came up with this clean lap…..
T1 24.930 T2 55.530 T3 1:21.672 Lap 1:56.125
Then I ran the 10 lap Arcade race once, see the post below :)

Ran this ran in Arcade mode – Professional (10 laps). As you will see below, I only pitted once. The times are reasonably slow but it is a 100% clean race…no walls, no contact with the A.I. or any more than 2 wheels off. Finished almost 2 laps ahead of the A.I slow bastards they are! Heres the results…..

Lap 1 33.596 1:04.618 1:30.468 2:05.176
Lap 2 25.351 0:56.031 1:22.060 1:56.915
Lap 3 24.973 0:56.194 1:22.630 1:57.390
Lap 4 25.817 0:56.932 1:23.820 1:58.575
Lap 5 25.331 0:00.000 1:25.406 2:05.299 (IN LAP)
Lap 6 42.963 1:13.715 1:38.891 2:14.433 (OUT LAP)
Lap 7 25.133 0:55.516 1:21.611 1:56.505
Lap 8 25.282 0:56.408 1:23.080 1:57.652
Lap 9 25.495 0:56.504 1:22.771 1:57.567
Lap10 25.339 0:57.580 1:25.648 2:00.988

Total Race Time – 20:10.500

All in all good fun car to drive…just needs a harder field of cars to make it a bit more interesting. Plenty of time to come out of it too, but times something I’m a bit short of at the moment so it will be a while before I run this again. Hope this helps, Cheers ;)

1:56.125! :(

What's your set up? The best I could get was during an aborted race run; 1:58.131.

OK, I was a bit confused as well. I did dowload Talentless replay, and gave the NSX a go around GV (1).

I'm learning more every time I run.

Here's the replay. 57'416. I'll give a go on GV2 tonight.

Not got round to running it yet Matt .

You should start a seperate thread for it with the leaderboard on it ;)

I dunno about starting a new thread, my suggestion was for our races that we have to submit to Jean for the comp, but if I must, I guess I will.

Another Race suggestion:

WRX Rally Car, which ever one you can buy,
stage 2 turbo(if applicable)
t8
oil change
tcs 0
asm 0

Rome Circut 2

yeah well I was thinking the races that we do in here we just pick out 2 of them , wether it be hot lap or race . What is that one you just posted a race or hot lap ?

And anyone else got any suggestions .... MIH , Bollocks, Race Idiot, Boom

 Sorry...misunderstood the purpose of the thread guys, thought we were testing them also. I guess we should all throw some in the ring over the next couple of days and them put our choices to a vote from what we get...what do you think about that?

Here's my settings for the NSX Talentless, what there were of them anyways.......

Camber 2.2 front 1.4 rear
Auto set to 26
I think that was all I could adjust from memory, and then only what Zero listed..T5's Sports suspension etc. Hope this helps mate. :)

Ooops sorry never saw this until now :D Ok I gotta sort them out name them etc... and post them in the replays thread today

I regret throwing this off topic, but I managed another run at the NSX around GV2 (this time). First time that I've noticed the track map nailed to the wall entering tunnel 2.

ANyways, I've tuned up the run a bit, and pushed it to 1'58.179. knowing that I'm not quite the caliber of the others here, I'm betting this is easily 3 seconds off the pace.

Had 1 go at this this morning , just to see how consistent I am at 10 lap races! .......... result ........ not so good :D

It's not entirely clean either so I never saved it , but I written down the laps to compare with Drew's attempt.

1- 2'06.300
2- 1'57.255
3- 1'59.220 ( got distracted )
4- 1'58.356 ( went a bit on the grass )
5- 2'05.654 (pit in )
6- 2'16.505 (out)
7- 1'57.725
8- ???? didn't write it down
9- 1'58.479
10- 2'02.136 ( was all over the place :D )

total race time - 20'20.692

Will try and get a clean and consistent 10 laps done tonight when it's peaceful ;)

OK, here's a list of races and hot laps that have been throw around in the team threads.........

Grand Valley II (either professional race in arcade or if there is one, a GVII race in the Type R challenges)
NSX-Type R (bought new)
oil change
sports suspension
engine balancing
port polish
ROM chip
sports exhaust
racing gear box(must not change final gear only auto set)
triple clutch
racing flywheel
weight reduction 1 and 2
T5 tires

Mercedes SLK at Trial Mountain.
In the Amateur series (Silver Arrow), I was able to post 2 second wins over the AI in a store bought SLK with these modifications:
Full racing suspension
Sport Brakes
Racing Muffler
port polish
Chip
Full racing Tranny
Medium Slicks
Lightweight 1&2
Full LSD
and the obligatory oil change and waxing.

Arcade mode "Professional" (10 lapper, not to horribly time consuming.)
The track: Grand Valley Raceway
The car: Fully modded Tickford Falcon
The reason: To get some halfway decent AI competitveness as well as some decent enduro practice as pit stops will be necessary at such a long track. The car, it's a pain in the ass. Could lead to some interesting set ups and test our tuning abilities trying to get this oversteering beast to act correctly. Could also promote good practice in throttle control.

Buy yourself a fresh BMW 328ci, give it an oil change, add a semi-racing muffler, stage 2 NA tune, sports suspension and T8 tyres. You may adjust whatever settings that the sports suspension allows, but TCS and ASM must be set to zero. Enter Race 7 (Special Stage R11 – 2 laps) of the GT World Championship in the Beginner League.

Buy yourself a fresh Lancer Evo V GSR (J), give it an oil change, add a full racing muffler, sports suspension and T8 tyres. You may adjust whatever settings that the sports suspension allows and the rear downforce, but TCS and ASM must be set to zero. Enter the Midfield II race (6 laps) in the Evolution Meeting, Amateur League.

Buy yourself a fresh Nissan GT-R V-Spec II (R34), give it an oil change, add sports suspension and T8 tyres. You may adjust whatever settings that the sports suspension allows and the rear downforce, but TCS and ASM must be set to zero. Enter the Grand Valley race (3 laps) in the Race of Turbo Sports, Amateur League.

Buy yourself a fresh TVR Tuscan Speed 6, give it an oil change and T8 tyres. TCS and ASM must be set to zero. Enter the Rome II race (3 laps) in the European Championship, Amateur League.

Buy yourself a fresh Mustang SVT Cobra R, give it an oil change, add sports suspension and T8 tyres. You may adjust whatever settings that the sports suspension allows and the rear downforce, but TCS and ASM must be set to zero. Enter the Seattle II race (3 laps) in the American Championship, Amateur League.

In a recent challenge, I took a fully rigged TVR Speed Six on T2's around Apricot Hill 2. This car can easily separate great drivers from excellent drivers. Especially when I state that you have to run it without ASM & TCS = 0. Knife edge throttle control, and patience unbound to control it. Wrong Way was all to often popping up in my view.

Mugens at Monaco - the S2000 visits La Cote D'Azur
In a recent adventure around this track in the Mugen, I was about 20 seconds shy of lapping the S2000 Type V. This would mean that had I run 26':18.987" I would have caught the S2000. So for 15 laps, I would have to run an average of 1':45.266". As opposed to the 1':46.593" I did average. Now, my best lap was a 1':44.187", so I know I could have easily lapped the S2000 had I put a number of smooth laps together. What I'm wondering is what might I have forgone (spend least amount of cash) to hit the 1':45.266". This is the Challenge, take the Mugen S2000, spend the least amount of cash, and break the 1':45.266" mark.
These mods were what I used. What might could I have skipped and still hit the mark? Or, what other mods could be substituted instead?
Racing suspension
Racing muffler
Stage 2 NA
Computer chip
Triple clutch
Lightweight flywheel
Racing transmission
Full LSD
Super slicks
Lightweight 1
Lightweight 2
Port & polish
Oil change and a waxing.

WRX rally car @ Rome II - Race or Hot lap?
VX220@Seatlle 10 laps pro arcade?

Lets get this list going so that we can all look at what we come up with and choose 2 to submit, what do you all think? Any more ideas or races to add?

Der, in the GV1 replay, both rear wheels are in the grass, no biggie here, but I think that's illegal in olr.

Thanks Talentless. I didn't catch that in the replay. I appreciate you pickin ghtat up. I'll rerun that and post up a clean lap. Did you have a chance to run the NSX-R GV2? Please check that one for any mistakes as well.

PH: I'm game for any one of the race suggestions posted. I don't have a lot of good practice in a heavily modded car. So a lean towards those type of races is good.

Do we know what the 9 borads challenge will consists of? Hot laps or multi laps? Enduro's...? I'll motion that we start to lean more towards multi lap races, as it helps in consistency. My biggest fault.

AO

I ran it just a bit ago. You showed me a first/second turn weakness. But I noticed you seemed a bit wobbily in areas, almost hitting the barriers. Forgive me, but were you tired?

Oh, I just ran a 1:57.354. I've got to check it's legality, but I can upload it shortly if you want it.

Oh, how's my driving?

I had to do a second oil change because of mileage, so I'm at 342.

8/10 shocks

2.5/1.5 camber.

Auto 28

I hope this is it. of course the pal drivers have freaky skills.

I think it's allowed so long as the 2 front wheels are on either the rumble or the track  don't see why not ;)

This challenge will consist of a variety of races at least one of each I would think .
We need to find out what we each are best at ;)

My understanding is that the two wheels must be from the same side, no other combination.

That's one more piece that would need clarification. Two wheels from left or right side or two wheels (no matter what side).

Talentless: I'll check your driving, and review the replay. Unfortunately, I won't have time to get to it until likely this weekend. Sorry. Real world issues. I will most certainly give another crack at beating your time.

I don't recall the situtation I was in at the time that I ran it. I do have an unfortunate physical problem in that I have very little hand strength due to a number of childhood injuries. That may account for the wobbly driving. Also figure in a lack of practice around GV2.

We'll see how this week goes.

[edit:just realized I blew my 1000th post issuing a retort to Talentless :( ]

How was your B-Day Alex?

On the note of wheels being off the track, it is my understanding that if 2 wheels from the front or the back are off track, that is illegal. 2 wheels from the right or the left side of the car is legal.

Boom: The Birthday was good. As it was on Thanksgiving, I ended up traveling to New Hampshire. Original plan was to grill Lobster and spend the day with the wife.

Two days prior to it, my little brother in San Diego drops me a note to say he's secretly booked a trip in for the day. So we surprised my mom by showing up.

Other than 5 hours in the car, It was a great day.

Ahhh... I was figuring that it was either left side or right side of the car that was legal, not front or rear.

Back to post #5, I'd be ready for the Lancer race.

AO

First up...belated b'day greetings Alex. Hope your day was a good one.

Another race suggestion........

Toyota MR2 GT-S @ Deep Forest II.
Buy a fresh MR2 GT-S, give it an oil change, add T5 tyres, Sports Suspension, Racing Exhaust, Sports rom and Stage 3 weight reduction. (BHP should be around 280 plus run in.) Enter the Deep Forest II race, MR challenge, Amateur League. (5 laps)

Had some fun with this...ran the race a couple of times to get it competitive and saved the last attempt, here's the replay for anyone thats interested.
