Given @Famine is here but not here tonight, something like Six and Two Threes will need at the very least someone in charge of collecting points and deciding upon circuits, so I'm wondering if tonight's racing should be a little more casual. I'm easy on anything really, but wonder if something one-make may be easier to organise.

How about this. We do the one make series with a twist, whoever finishes last gets to pick his own combo car & track. (If the same person finishes last again the person who finished above them can pick the next combo.)

@homeforsummer You can pick the first combo then it goes from there.

That could be fun, yeah. Probs best to go for relatively straightforward cars at least just to ensure nobody needs to panic-buy in the middle of proceedings...

Well if I'm kicking things off, I'm going to make use of @Famine not being here and pick a track he hates and a car everyone will probably have already: Tsukuba, and the Mazda Roadster S (ND) '15. We can decide on laps later, but for simplicity's sake I'd say Sports Hards, power/weight at 100/100, and I'm guessing everything off apart from ABS, unless there's anyone here who really struggles without ESC/TCS.

Including everyone's names just to cover anyone who might be joining us for tonight to inform them of the above: @buybon355 @daan @IfAndOr @Sparkz_360 @Venari @Zolon32 @Sutsagrd

I can't remember what time we usually kick off. Room open from 19h30 BST and racing from 20h00?

Sounds good. 8pm start works for me. Think it's usually half 8 but I'm normally killing time until then anyway so cool with me

I should be there but might not make it till after 8pm. Start without me and I’ll join when able to. Thanks.

6. @IfAndOr 23 pts

(I don't think I've screwed up the old 10>6>4>3>2>1 points system for everyone there...). Sparks absolutely walks away with it thanks to a flurry of wins and better consistency than everyone else. And until round 5 I think I was comfortably in last points-wise but thankfully improved for the next few races...

A few pics from the 2&4 race, which despite evil handling I quite enjoyed.

Yeah, that is... odd.

I should point out that Goodwood would've been an easy Sparks win too had he not attempted to demonstrate the bug above

I made the classic mistake of listening to Sparks asking "can you go flat through Fordwater?", trying it on lap one, and spinning off, instantly making things much harder for myself.

The run what you brung was quite good fun(g). I must try harder at my poetry.

I must point out at Goodwood I was on a lower grade of tyre. Due to my superior skills in car control I decided to handicap myself. Sorry I haven't got an excuse for Bathurst or Maggiore.

Yeah I really enjoyed them. After a couple of laps the handling just seemed to "click".

After recently doing a few more of those arcade tests etc I've got over 1.5 million credits again. Yay. It keeps on giving me free cars every time I complete something too! I'm warming to GTS, time to come back @Zolon32 ;)

In principle I should be able to make it back from Liverpool in time for this week, but I'll be driving out of Liverpool, and past both Manchester and Leeds, in rush "hour". If we're not going to have many people, I'll have a burger and dawdle home instead.

So in my idle Youtube watching time this weekend, I was inspired for some silly racing ideas.

How about we pimp some Raptors and do NASTRUCK racing around the oval-derived circuits? Maybe even turn on slipstream for some catchup ability.

Pimping a raptor! Won't that require some genetic engineering? And then there's the time needed to train them to run around an oval track. It'll probably need something bigger than a rabbit for them to chase.

Other than that it sounds interesting.

So, try this. Benign drifting - works on sticks, not sure about wheels. This is a test for evil. If people can actually do this, then I have a handicap in mind.

Raptor. 120% power / 70% weight.

SS fronts, CH rear.

BB raceway II, I used 3.10pm, arcade mode time trial.

You'll need to use opposite lock... well, everywhere. But you should be able to hang the tail whereever you want to, and flick it through the left kink flat in fourth smoking the rears without having to lift at all from the beginning of the big 180 entry (well, the exit of the 90 right) all the way back around to the 90 right. 3rd for the 90, 70-75mph. Sideways, natch.

You're quite, quite mad.

I'm not sure what my ETA is this evening, but I shall do mine best.

This was wheely impossible, so we just mucked around on the ovals with Brotrucks for an hour or so - BB II (17 laps), BMB II (11 laps), Northern Isle (27 laps) and SSRX (1 lap), with strong slipstream and weak boost...

... then maxxed out Gran Turismo Mach 40s for a no-holds barred lap of SS Route X at cracking on for 290mph

Sorry I didn't make it. I wasn't feeling great last night and was in bed by half 8.

I had tried @Venari "benign" drifting truck of death and found it impossible to drive. The mucking around sounded quite fun though.

Yeah, but @Venari actively seeks out evil handling bastards.

If you can't drive it, and no one else can help, maybe you can hire @Venari
And he'll drive it for four laps before putting it into a wall :D

I actually fancied my chances after practice. I could do clockwork 42s laps after a while, five seconds down on Venari's good laps, but seven up on every other one  But yes, it was like trying to yo-yo while running down a tenpin bowling alley.

I'll be just about still here Tuesday night this week (but I'll be away for the entire stretch through to the following one, so won't have time for any thoughts on what to race), so how about a Clio Trophy sesh?

I don't know anything about the car in GTS yet, but if we wind them up to 294hp, slim them down to 1,150kg (or nearest alternative values), slap Racing Hard tyres on them, give them liveries (mine WILL be GT4/5/6 Clio Trophy liveries) and have a laugh, innit. Sardegna's middle-length track seems like a lark, so we can fold that in at some point too.

We used to do a Clio Trophy 1hr endurance race at the end of our LANs :D

"Ooh, that's a particularly nice paintjob, @IfAndOr . Oh dear, I forgot there's a corner, sorry!" *SMASHCRASHDEATH*

"Do you think professional racing drivers ever get distracted by nice paint?"

"This dildo is ready right at your back door."

etc.

Reasonably close proximity... for 285mph.
