Woo, I won something on GTP!

Would the kerfuffle work better if the slowest in one race, got the fastest car as per usual, but started at the back with it?

My 2 wins were fairly straightforward due to me starting at the front with the best car. If I'd started at the back in the RX7 and Supra, it would have been a more interesting race.

That was a lot of fun tonight. Most fun for me were the two races in the Corvette, which were RBR and Maggiore, as they mostly involved controlling huge amounts of oversteer, and Willow because the racing was actually amazingly close despite the huge difference in vehicles. A few quick images below...

Last again. But an enjoyable smile on my face kind of last so that's ok. :)

Sorry for the punt into the barrier on the last race @Venari. I blame it on Colin and Suts. I was listening to them talking about rusty cows and forgot which corner I was on. :P

Nice shots @homeforsummer 👍
"Guys guys GUYS GUYS!" I was bracing for impact! :dopey:

Unfortunately won’t be able to join you guys tonight.
Nobody else knew how to get the cork out of the winners champagne! ;)

You both seemed to stop on the apex so if I'd taken a normal cornering line I'd have killed you both in one swift punt  Luckily the Raptor's fairly decent on the bits that aren't track so I made a last-minute dive. Think it was maybe @Famine behind me at the time, so I think he probably got the most amusing view...

Coincidentally Famine was also in front of me when understeered wide and hit that bank, and I think he got an amusing view of that too. It was basically a replica of what I did in front of @Venari during the practice laps.

I saved most of the replays from last night so I can grab more photos (or send the files, if such a thing is possible) if anyone has a moment they want to capture.

I haven't had time to think of anything for this week yet, but I can cobble something together in short order.

In the meantime, how are we all fixed for the VFE cars (and E-Types and Minis)? With Goodwood Circuit coming this Thursday, I'd like to stage a couple of Revival-esque photoshoots. That'd mean having everyone in some of the following cars:

Kinrara Trophy
Chevrolet Corvette '63 (100,000cr)
Jaguar E-Type '61 (170,000cr)
Ford GT40 Mark I (280,000cr)
Shelby Cobra 427 '66 (2,000,000cr)
Shelby Cobra Daytona '64 (15,000,000cr)
Ferrari 250 GTO '62 (20,000,000cr)

Other randomness
Mini Cooper S '65 (50,000cr)
Aston Martin DB3S '53 (10,000,000cr)
Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2 Carrozzata da Zagato '65 (10,000,000cr)
Jaguar XJ13 '66 (20,000,000cr)

And anything else I've forgotten about. Not the Miura.

I’m up for this. I don’t have any of the cars 10 million and over except the jag XJ13. I have the rest. What time were you thinking of tomorrow evening??

Great fun racing last night. Excellent photos @homeforsummer

I should also be available tonight, but I'm a bit short on cars aside from the Mini and Corvette. The Porsche might be neat though as they've had those at Revivals before.

Yeah, Minis (better to do one-make Mini shots), loads of Corvettes and E-Types (cheap), the odd regular Cobra and GT40 aren't too expensive (2m, 2.8m), @Venari's Porsche, and then the odd GTO/Daytona to pack it out. I've got a Daytona, so no need to bust a gut getting one if you don't have one - and there's only seven anyway. Actually Goodwood assembled them all a couple of years ago, so if we could get seven...

Period liveries would be great. Boring, but great. See here for "inspiration":

I'll set a lobby up after tea and youngest's bedtime, so 7ish, and we'll just freehand it.

I should be able to pop in with my meagre collection this evening too.

I take it you'd prefer not to have fluorescent pinks and shiny chromes? I'll get the paint cans out.

I've accumulated a few credits on Tuesday and a few more since, would you like me to get a GT40? Or shall I save them for any further plans?

I also have a GT40, although the thought occurs that I can't drive it concurrently with the Daytona. @daan said he had all of them too though, so we've probably got enough of things. I'm easy - I don't really want people spending hard-earned on cars just for an hour's mucking about, so it's up to you. It makes a good Professional/Premium Sports Lounge alternative to the XBow though. The Daytona is the cheapest easily winning car for the Nostalgic race too, although I recall the DB3S can do it for less.

Here's what I think people have said they have:
Ferrari 250 GTO - daan
Jaguar XJ13 - daan, suts
Ferrari 250GT - Famine
Aston Martin DB3S - daan
Shelby Cobra Daytona - Famine, daan
Ford GT40 - Famine, daan, HFS
Shelby Cobra 427 - Famine, daan, Venari, If
Porsche 356 - Venari
Jaguar E-Type - Famine, daan, If, Suts
Chevrolet Corvette - Famine, daan, If, Suts
Mini Cooper S - Famine, daan, HFS, If, Suts

I do have a GT40, thinking about it. If anyone could point me towards some good Revival liveries (other than those @daan will be bringing along) I'll get something sorted. There were some fab colours at this year's Members Meeting with the Minis. Actually, replicating any of Nick Swift's ones would be good.

There should be some in this video:

I've got this from the Revival:

Edit: Also realised this was in the Kinrara race as well:

I have a Nova and a Shelby Mustang in decent period liveries. The Cobra is liveried up, I have a Mini in passable livery, an A110, a GT40 in the gold Le Mans livery... an evil plain white '63 Vette... stuff.

Sweet. Do you have a Habit?

Let's cock about in Minis for a one-make, do our best for a Kinrara (250 GTO, 250GT, E-Type, Cobra 427), muck about in Revival cars (1966 limit - Daytona, Vette C2, GT350, Giulia, BAT, DB3S) and then go full Members Meeting with any classics you can get your hands on (A110, Gordini, Challenger, 2000GT, 356, GT40, whatever).

I've downloaded already-done liveries for the Mini (a Nick Swift car) and GT40 (a blue one presumably from a recent Revival or MM) so those will be a good start.

I’m an idiot.

I forgot I had to still download the update. On top of that stuff happened at work which meant I’ve only just got home. I doubt I’ll make it. I was look forward to driving some retro cars around Goodwood. Have fun.
If you’re still at it around 2100-2115 I might be ready to join!!!!

My blank screen issue.

This happened very time I went into settings. I had to exit the race and go back in. If I didn't use settings, it was fine.

That last shot's cracking. Looks like it was almost taken at the same moment as my shot of those cars going around the chicane further up!

Edit: Incidentally, that shot from the rear of the Cobra sliding and chasing the Ferrari is from that angle because it's one of few that doesn't show the absolute armful of chronic understeer the Ferrari was displaying at that very moment  When I paused the frame I hoped both cars were oversteering but the Ferrari was struggling a bit...

I want to try something this week which will be related to an article.

You'll need your favourite Gr.4 car (I haven't done the Gr.3s yet). We'll be doing a couple of FIA-type events - with FIA tyre wear and fuel consumption - but don't assume that means that you'll need the cars that work best in FIA races...

I've tested at DT Gardens, because I'm consistenter and faster than my usual rank there. We could do two races in different cars there, or can perhaps do another, similar length race at a different venue (I like Autopolis, but I know @Venari hates it), but I would need a couple of hours to test there too first.

I should again be around. And I also quite like Autopolis. Favourite Gp.4 car is probably the 650S, though online stuff suggests it's weirdly slow in a straight line compared to many others in the class.

Oh, I wouldn't necessarily worry about that... :mischievous:
