(need to test a bit more first)
I have now done so, and decided not to bother.

So, all cars at 100/100 for power and weight, on Sports Hard tyres. The Focus is notably faster at all tracks, while the Mini is fractionally slower, and the other four are pretty tightly bound to one another.

Citroen DS3 Racing '11
Ford Focus ST '15
MINI Cooper S '05
Peugeot 208 GTI by Peugeot Sport '14
Renault Clio RS 220 EDC Trophy '16*
Volkswagen Golf VII GTI '14

The races should all last 8-9 minutes, giving us a solid hour of racing if all is ultra-efficient - so there's a good opportunity for everyone to get a sighter lap in with their chosen car before each race and still have us clear by 10pm. In order, the races will be:

Brands Hatch Indy Circuit - 10 laps
Autopolis Short Circuit - 6 laps
Blue Moon Bay Infield A II - 6 laps**
Red Bull Ring Short Circuit - 8 laps
Lago Maggiore Centre II - 10 laps
Tokyo Expressway Central Outer Loop - 3 laps

I'll score it with old F1 points, or something else depending on how many we get.

With one slightly duff car and one very buff one there's some tactics to which car you choose. Do you sacrifice the duff car on your worst track, or do you use it somewhere better suiting its talents? Do you save the buff car for TECOL, where it has a 15mph straight line speed advantage and five seconds a lap, or will everyone do that, reducing the guaranteed-win points for it - or will everyone think that everyone will do that and no-one will use it at TECOL and give you a walkover?

@AndreasR @buybon355 @homeforsummer @IfAndOr @JockeP22 @Sparkz_360 @Sutsagrd @Team_SWE_1 @Venari @Zolon32

(also make sure you're on my Friends list :D)

*If you only have the 2015 car, you can use that with ~25kg of additional weight - 102 should do it
**Haven't properly tested this yet, may be subject to change!

Still looking available for tomorrow. Cars bought and prepped...

Since we've managed to get rid of that awful fellow, Zoot I think he was called, I'll try and join in tomorrow. You probably need someone to be up the rear!

I've purchased a couple of missing cars but they probably won't have @homeforsummer's colour coordination.

Tactics? I don't think I've got a worst track however that's compensated for by the fact I haven't got a best either. So it might just be a car at random, it'll match my random driving.

Blue Moon Bay Infield II
Which flavour of Blue Moon II, A or B? Yes I might even practice!

Headphones on charge.

For those wondering, I was repping a "party parrot"/birb on the back of tonight's cars.

Thanks for the clean racing all. Was wondering if the Focus might be a bit overpowered for this class but actually it was fairly even on all but a few tracks. Difficult keeping up with them at Autopolis, admittedly...

I enjoyed the dominating strategy of getting the MINI the hell out the way at Brands

Maggiore was probably my most frustrating race. I quite like that Maggiore layout and I quite liked the Golf, but I just didn't have the speed through the final corner of the guys in front, and any time I tried to match them to stay in the slipstream I understeered straight into the barrier. I got two 1.5-second penalties for doing it, which seemed harsh as I probably already lost about 1.5 seconds along the straight each time I did it :irked:

Favourite car/track combo was Autopolis and the Clio, which is why I paired them up, but just couldn't live with Sparks and If in the Focii there. Quite pleased I picked the DS3 for RBRS too, as I thought it'd minimise its disadvantages (traction - I tested it at Autopolis and it was about 2sec per lap off even the Clio). The penalties murdered me on that one too though. Ended up stacking penalties a few times when I went wide having not even worked off the previous penalty yet

penalties
Weird thing was I had them set to "light". They seemed really aggressive at RBRS.

I apologise again for TECOL. I tested all six cars at TEEOL - hence why I had it set at three laps (~2'30). TECOL just isn't a clean racing track, which is why it was great for BOPs and Rozzers and dreadful in Daily Races; overtaking is the guy in front making a mistake or the guy behind going full Plato, and even when you've got clean guys the merest hint of under/over/nonedersteer* in a corner is disaster.

I have some things in mind for next week. Some not FWD things. I should also prep an EZGT (and my BroTruck) and a smaller Kerfuffle (30 cars is great for a LAN or a series, but I think we can get away with less for an evening) to give people time to get ready for it :D

What I do need is for @Venari to move house and grab Marvin, so I can set up a huge LAN area in my extra garage, because with four UKGTPers there last night I WANNA DO A LAN!

*I'm going to work that into a review

Brands in the Mini - Spent most of the race chasing down @homeforsummer. Not sure I would got past as our speeds were very similar and not many overtaking opportunities at Brands, but he decided to let me past, although I thought it was a brilliant passing move! :P

Autopolis DS3 - The DS3 is a hateful turd of a car. I took out @Venari at the last right hander (Never sure where to brake there. Either too early or late every single time.) and instead of just easing off on the straight to let him back past, I drove into the gravel in embarrassment. Lost a lot of time, but managed to catch @Venari & @Famine up and got past both as they were battling.

Blue Moon Clio - Had a good battle with @Venari and then @Sparkz_360 until he got past and buggered off. It was the last lap when I realised I could take the 2nd corner in 4th rather than 3rd...

RBR Focus - I was the only Focus in this race so the pressure was on to win. I made my way to the front, via a few penalties for running wide at the last corner, and just took it safely to the end.

208 Maggiore - I got past @Famine once then immediately ran wide and let him back past. Rinse and repeat with @IfAndOr. Eventually made it stick with @IfAndOr but @Sutsagrd kept me honest all race. Wall on exit of last corner was deadly.

Tokyo Golf - Car was nice, but it is a hateful track. Can't really recall what happened but there was a fair bit of contact with both cars and walls, although I managed to escape without penalties.

All in all another fun evening of racing. I really must try and join in more often.

@Famine I thought about hosting a LAN again but my internet wouldn't be able to cope with the traffic. If you can talk Kaz into giving us a LAN mode...

Sorry if you get blinded.
I was thinking that @JockeP22 was back.

nonedersteer
Can I claim that as a description of my driving technique?
Follow me @Venari, I know where I'm going. :P

They seemed really aggressive at RBRS.
Were they switched on there? I never noticed.

Thanks for stepping up and organising Famine.
Come on @Zolon32, forget all that serious stuff, you missed out on some fun last night. I came last again though, so no difference there. :)

@Famine I thought about hosting a LAN again but my internet wouldn't be able to cope with the traffic. If you can talk Kaz into giving us a LAN mode...
Annoyingly, there is one - it's what they use at the Live Events. Definitely needs to be in the game though; I'll have a chat at the next event next month.

I'm reasonably sure that Lobbies use the same P2P architecture as GT5/GT6, with almost all of the communication being console-to-console (to-console-to-console-etc) and a minimal amount keeping contact with the PD servers to keep the game itself online and creating the lobby. If so, we could run an iLAN and there'd be very little traffic between the router and the outside world. I probably ought to test that out before planning out LAN Garage Mk2 (or, worse, LAN Shop...).

I have some things in mind for next week.
Sadly I'm going to miss next week as I'm returning from driving an actual car (the one that has its own FIA series in GT), and I think I'm busy the following Tuesday too, but I'll try and make any of these that I'm free for as last night was a good laugh.
Brands in the Mini - Spent most of the race chasing down @homeforsummer. Not sure I would got past as our speeds were very similar and not many overtaking opportunities at Brands, but he decided to let me past, although I thought it was a brilliant passing move! :P
To be fair, it was still a good move. I recall I made a bit of a mistake and you made a move, so I decided not to defend. I didn't realise it was the last lap though, might have fought a bit harder if I'd noticed
Tokyo Golf - Car was nice, but it is a hateful track. Can't really recall what happened but there was a fair bit of contact with both cars and walls, although I managed to escape without penalties.
There was a bit of a clusterflip near the start if I remember correctly. I also remember three of us going three-wide into one of the turns, and it almost working... but think someone hit the wall, which ghosted them, and I got fired like a bottle from a cork as someone booped me straight through the now-ghosted car in front.

I honestly don't hate that Tokyo layout, but I don't know it well enough, at least for understeery FWD stuff, to really commit to much of it. Being surrounded by walls it's very difficult picking braking and turn-in markers, which is something I've been trying to practice at recently (in the past I used to just kind of... wing it, but I need to actually Git Gud if I want to compete at a decent level in online racing).

I honestly don't hate that Tokyo layout,
I do. It freaks me out too as there's an expansion joint that makes no noise. It goes doof, doof, doof, doof, doof, doof, doof. It's out the back somewhere, next to an exit ramp, before you go into the right hander into a tunnel. It is on the road, but is silent. It's just not right.

Hi, guys
back from a little "Tour de France" (was a bit more than 2000 km with our 37 years old camping-car) visited Le Mans and Rouen les Essarts btw.
Now its time I could use a little help from all of you. Tomorrow I´ll drive the EGTM Div.B Leage at Bathurst. There is a fan-boost voting and the one with the highest votes gets 3% more power. Please give me your votes at http://egtm.racing/fan-boost-division-b-bathurst/?contest-gallery-order=random&contest-search=simba thank you
It is only possible to vote once and only today

Something I have in mind for a few weeks' hence - an EZGT-style sprint/enduro combo with a twist or two.

That's just as we did before for BOPs and Rozzers, where you tune a car however you want to reach but not beat a specific lap time at a given track.

We'll then do a sprint race at that track - five laps, full tilt, no tyre or fuel wear. I think you can see where this is going.

That'll be followed by a 45-minute endurance race, with (I think, at the moment) 5x fuel and tyre wear.

The twists:

1. You may detune your car however you see fit for the endurance race; that means that if you relied on soft tyres or big power (or both) for your laptime, you can just slow the car up a bit in order to be a less frequent visitor to the pits.
2. You'll be penalised two seconds per second (any part of a second, as with GT Sport's penalty system*) for any lap, other than pit in/out, that beats the proscribed minimum lap time; I'll add this to your race finish time afterwards
3. For the endurance race only you'll also be penalised minus one second per second (any part of a second, as with GT Sport's penalty system*) for any lap, other than lap 1 and pit in/out, that's slower than the proscribed minimum lap time by more than four seconds; I'll take this off your race finish time afterwards
4. The sprint race is worth 150% of the points of the endurance race; live fast, die young, leave a great-looking corpse
5. Your own best result from the two races will be worth double points, with the endurance race getting the bonus if you finish in the same position in both races.

So :D You'll want a car that can match but not beat the lap time, that you can detune to last the endurance race, but also that doesn't do well enough at the endurance to earn your race bonus there because the sprint is worth more, but if you go too slow in the endurance race you'll be penalised by being made faster and potentially losing your bonus from the sprint race, so your best bet is really to leave the car alone or be exactly 3.999s a lap slower, probably.

I think the maths works out

*So 0.001 to 1.000 qualifies as a second. 1.001 to 2.000 is two seconds. 2.001 to 3.000 is three seconds, and so on.

And the resluts from last night...
Is that typo deliberate? :P

Edit: Ah yes I see now you've used it before. :)

Comparing it to last week's I can see a similarity with myself and Sparks, we are both very consistent. Not necessarily in the same way though. :boggled:

Either that or it's one of those words that you can never seem to type right.
I hadn't spotted it previously it was the spell checker that picked it up on the reply. It's amazing how the brain can autocorrect words that are spelt wrongly.

Tihs is a smaple snetecne to tset yuor brian's abiltiy to corrcet mitskaes!

How are we all fixed for Gr.X/VGT cars? I've got an idea for this week that suits some of the less nuts ones (and possibly de-tuned versions of some of the nuts ones, although the tuning for them is also nuts).
