Rally racing in GT6?

We've seen the Audi S1 Rally car in GT6...but I've heard nothing yet of rally tracks or anything making a return. I really hope I'm not the only one who wants to see this come back with major improvements.

I see no reason to expect a lack of rally racing at this moment. We'll see what the improvements in the tire and suspension model's will bring to the dirt, if anything.

But until they say otherwise, I'm guessing the future of rallying is safe.

From what I've seen regarding the suspensions' performance on tarmac, it would be incredible on dirt :dopey: Hopefully they'll have some sort of rally integration with the career mode.

Now when you say rally racing...do you mean fiat 500 dirt racing:sly:

But seriously I don't know what they are going to do people make claims that pikes peak might come as they've done before. It would be cool to see rallying racing like we did pre-GT5, and hill climb racing as well. However, we should just wait and see.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: They got the basics of rally just about perfect in GT5. If they could combine that with a bit of spectators on the road (that is not all that far from what top level rallying looks like spectatorwise.. At least until the 1.6 took over the world :grumpy: ) and improved physics and voila, a perfect rally mode. Add a point to point option for the track generator, there you have an entire rally. A few more locations, there's a championship served on a dish which I plan to eat of.

Oh, and, if possible, a head 2 head track for those Super Special Stages :)

I'm hoping we get to do it online as well. We now have "Time Trials" hopefully this includes rally track and co-driver. :) I wish we had a Deutchland stage they are so awesome. :P hinklesteins and all with heavy damage on :D

This is the only track I care about, rally-wised.

Time to NAME...THAT...TRACK!

Time to NAME...THAT...TRACK!

More specifically Smokey Mountain North :sly:

I remember seeing YT videos about 2 (iirc) unfinished Smokey Mountain tracks that was supposed to appear in GT2.. There's still hope they'll live one day though, we all thought Apricot Hill and Seatle was gone for good too 👍

At "List of Tracks Carried Over from Gran Turismo 5", there are three tracks categorized as "Snow and Dirt", so, don´t worry, we will get something for Rally. Don´t know if they are going to put something new, but at least something for Rally we can say yes, its safe.

I won't really call rallying safe just because the circled offroad courses from GT5 remains. Rallycross is safe, but rallying not so much :)

Matterhorn could be like the Eiger Nordwand, in the sense that there are several off-road courses around the road course. Also I'd like to see PD place an emphasis on off-road courses in the 'monthly track DLC.'

We'll have the tracks, we'll have the cars (most from GT5). I see no reason why there won't be rally in GT6.

I hope they bring Swiss alps and smokey mountain back =D !

, yes, but they need to improve the rollovers in the physics engine.
I saw one in GTA, and it was awful. It seemed like if the car had no gravity at all for a few seconds. Better than GT5 though, but still...
But yes, looking forward to a better and improved rally on GT6... with better audio soon enough I hope.

To be honest, I have been dissapointed with the rallying in GT5. Just about every motorsport in GT5 lacks something. The F1 has no DRS spoiler, NASCAR has no cautions & only 2 tracks, & the Rally doesn't have any real stages. That is why I bought NASCAR Inside Line & WRC 3. I really do hope for more focus on the Rallying & F1 aspect of GT6, but I doubt we'll see any major improvements.

They were short but had great flow to them , toscana has horrible flow =/ , Smokey mountain had three sharp turns and two were on pavement so it was no flow breaker

Fail to see why they put so much effort in creating stunning locations like Grand Canyon and Cathedral Rock Trail, only to never use them beyond GT4/GTPSP.

RE DRS: Because the cars are not 2012 or 2013 ones. ;)

The rally in GT5 left a bit to be desired, but it was a start. For me, honestly, I won't mind if point-to-point rally doesn't return. As long as they have good off-road tracks and good off-road locations for the course-maker, I'll be happy.

Regarding rally cars, I think we need more of them made premium.
Of those already in GT5 I would like to see any (or all) of these:

- 1998 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Rally Car
- 1999 Subaru Impreza WRC
- 2005 Subaru Impreza WRC
- Lancia Delta S4
- Lancia Delta Integrale Rally Car
- 1998 Ford Escort WRC
- Ford RS200 Rally Car
- Peugeot 205 T16 Evo II

Of those that could be added to GT6:

- Mini John Cooper Works Countryman WRC
- Citroën DS3 WRC (2012 Livery)
- Ford Fiesta RS WRC (2012 Model and Livery)

It has surprised me that those current WRC cars have not appeared so far. Mind you, Milestone have the official WRC license for another year - not sure if that extends to the cars though, but that might be the reason why.

Don't forget the WRC VW either and there are a number of trailblazer hillclimb cars that'd be a fine addition too.

Considering PD have a healthy relationship with VW and Mini (see the GT5 DLC and new premiums as proof) it wouldn't surprise me.

RE DRS: Because the cars are not 2012 or 2013 ones. ;)

I knew someone was going to get me on that. It makes me wonder now that the F1 licence has been attained by Microsoft & Turn 10, will the cars in Forza 5 have that feature.

Forza doesn't have a modern F1 license as far as I'm aware, that still belongs to Codemasters. They just have some classic F1 cars, which certainly don't have DRS. :)

Do you think so? I think Rallying is a serious weak point in the game. Apart from the sound being dull, the tracks are too wide, short and boring and the grip level and handling don't feel right at all. The cars just seem to slide across the surface rather than bite into the gravel and grip the way a rally car should.

Anyway that's just my opinion. I was hoping with the inclusion of WRC cars in GT5 that they would include some descent point to point rally stages and a proper rally championship. That whole A-Spec rally thing where you follow another car on a 50m wide road for about 2km was ridiculous
