Won the Ford GT LM Race Car for my b-spec level 21 ticket (matches my Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II rather nicely). Also bought the Opel Astra DTM car from the online dealer; that was the first time I've seen it. I've yet to get the CLK DTM car, but I hope the Astra is just as nice. I remember the CLK was a great car in GT4.

If you find the Jensen Interceptor... TAKE IT! Excellent 380hp stock, gets a 6 speed transmission, 700hp fully tuned, and will take lots of cars its HP. Excellent sleeper, don't think a lot of people remember it from GT4, or at least remember it as a good sleeper.

I bought an unusual car last night that I had never seen before, a Mazda rx7 (previous shape to the one used for the seasonal event). I can't remember the exact name but I think it was BP something. It's silver with aftermarket alloys, a whooping great big rear spoiler, bonnet vent and slight body kit iirc.
I don't know what the power/weight was but it cost around 150k.

Had 2 nice rare cars show up for me today in the UCD:
Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring Car
Subaru IMPREZA Rally Car Prototype '01
Had just finished off the new seasonal events so had plenty of cash to buy both, the FTO was just under 1million credits & the Subaru was around 240-250,000 or something. Also bought a Renault 5 Maxi Turbo Rally Car '85 which showed up aswell, again just under a million credits but not really sure how rare that one is, personally I had only seen it once before, the first 2 I had never seen before.

i just saw it for the first time last night....jumped on it and bought it!
then had bob drive it(girlfriend was over) and went back to the UCD and saw the bentley speed 8, dammit!
its over 1k hp with stage 3 turbo and lightweight, ill be driving it tonight...should be fun

So if I understand the new/used car dealers, there are cars in the game which are not available at the new car dealers, so you must wait (and hope) for them to "appear" at the used car lot? Also you must hope that you have been disciplined and saved up enough money to buy a rare car when it "appears"? Thank goodness there is online trading in this game -- some people love a certain car but could not care about another, which might be the next person's dream car, so they can trade. That will be the saving grace for many GT5 fans.

There are many cars i've seen just once, but the only one i've never seen but looked out for is the AC Cobra
A few I saw early on but am now waiting for, such as the VW W12 Nardo. Same for the Chapparal 2J, but that's now in the online dealership and I am nowhere near being able to afford it

Yeah that's pretty much right, though I think the rarity/waiting in some ways is cool, it gives the game tons of longevity, as do some of the very expensive premium cars that you can't get as prizes. After all, the game has only been out less than 2 months
Yes I can see how this would give the game lots of replay value. As in, although there are some glaring problems, I will not stop playing this game until GT6 or possibly later.
I look forward to that feeling of joy, the problem is that I am having a hard time saving up money. For example I recently bought the RX-7 LM Race Car (green) and the Gillet Vertigo Race Car, and keep dropping to a few hundred grand because I can't pass up a juicy car. There's been an F1 in my online dealership for a couple weeks and I'm pretty sure it will be gone by the time I save up $4.5mil. But I look forward to owning the Panoz Esperante GT-1 only because it is so freakin' sexy cool.
Is there a Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe in this game? I didn't see it on the list.
