Personly, What do people think is the rarest or hardest car to obtain in the whole Gran Turismo series?

The Standard jaguar in Gt5 , numerically it is the rarest car limited to one car per save, unlike all other cars including the black cars in 4 that can be obtained multiple times * although it takes forever to do so * and the hacked gt2 cars but then again you can have more than one per save so numerically the rarest car in gt is the jaguar number wise.

Which jag is that?

Black FGT
100% on GT4, nuff said.
I had this :sly:👍
1 Lap magic in the SLR on The Ring killed me. I did it though.

Which jag is that?

Maybe the XFR. You can only get it by golding the Top Gear special event.

The premium GT Academy tuned 370z is a tough one to get. It can only be obtained randomly from a level 12 ticket.

The Gamestop Fantasy NASCAR can be obtained randomly from a 2010 birthday ticket. This car will only be useable for the time you are playing the game. It will not save to your garage and will vanish the next time you play.

There are also colour variations that are rarer than others. The mazda RX7 LM racecar comes in black with the number 00 on it. This is the last car I need in my collection of nearly 1500 cars.

Also, the HPA Golf R32, Jag XFR and Buick Special NEVER appear in the UCD.

They do :P Bought the HPA and the Buick there, the XFR you're right tough only when golding the top gear special event.

The Toyota GT-one is rare in the UCD haven't found it so far, and on that note almost any le mans racers.

No, he is right about this. The GNX shows up in the UCD, but the Special does not.

Neither does the HPA tuned R32 or the XFR.

All three are prize cars, though.

Temetias.
The cz-3 tarmac rally car's road version maybe? I've seen it in the game only once.

I got one yesterday, first time I've seen it in my ucd and I've played every day since gt5 came out.

Nurburgthing.

.

I knew about that, but I still have two of them and have never finished the top gear challenge. I just saw the mention if only having one per save file and I'm wondering about the truth in that.

I have 5 XFR's! I traded. Couple and got the others from sub accounts! I personally would say the rarest are region locked special edition DLC!

This is correct. These cars do not appear in the UCD. They are prize cars only.

Mister dog stands corrected :), altough i'm still having my doubts about the R32, but let's not start another useless discussion shall we.

It depends on your definition, but I would assume we're not counting any outside sources (Gamesharks, DexDrives, or trading).

Gran Turismo 1: All prize cars could be re-won with exception to the license test cars. So the Dodge Copperhead road car, the TRD3000GT, and the Nismo 400R were that game's rarest cars, only handed out once per natural game. I'd say the TRD is the hardest to grab - the last license in every GT game tends to be easier to gold than others, since full laps give more leeway, and B was easier than A.

Gran Turismo 2: I think there were some series that only handed out prizes once, but I could be wrong. Otherwise, same as before - license test gold cars would be the hardest - but I'd say it's any of the "International" ones; IC, IB, and IA. B and A were doable, S was full-laps again, but these ones all had one or two incredibly hard tests per license (the Camaro blind corner test, the slaloms). That means the GTO, Del Sol, and FTO LM Editions were the rarest: most unfortunate if you wanted a specific colour. The Denso Sard Supra was rare due to a glitch: it was the prize for the Trial Mountain endurance race, but every so often, a Vector LM Edition would show up in that race, which was far faster than the regulations allowed.

Gran Turismo 3: Actually not the license test cars this time! If only because all of them can be won at least one other time in other races (the issues of having such a large career mode and such a small car roster). I'm pretty sure the F094/S awarded for 100% completion wasn't a unique colour scheme, so technically, the rarest car? The Aston Martin Vanquish - it could only be won twice in a regular play through.

Gran Turismo 4: The "Black Beauties" (787B, R92CP, R390, and GT-one) could be purchased infinitely, as long as you felt like throwing 700 game days at the goal, so they're out. I'd say the all-black Formula GT, since it was only available as a gift for completing 100%.

Gran Turismo 5: Not counting the specific region DLC bonus cars (seriously, one of my least-favourite things of this generation), and obviously ignoring trading, I suppose the rarest cars are the X2010 Prototype and the 370Z Academy car. The former for the skill required to obtain it, and the latter for it's... unique method of obtaining. Especially when, originally, you only had one Level 12 ticket to use.

Wait! The GT Academy 370z is rare? I just got one a couple of weeks ago with a ticket and thought it wasn't rare so I got rid of it... *facepalm*

I would also assume that the GT Academy GTR Spec-V is a one time only car too, though it's easy to get. I still have it so I'll keep this one although I don't use it.

Don't forget the DeLorean and the Tank Car. Although they were relatively easy to get, it was just one time when you had the chance to get them. Just like the Vanquish in GT3. If you sold them then you wouldn't see them again unless you were playing Arcade mode.

I'd put the 370Z on top of the list. The other cars (Special, HPA, XFR and X2010 Prototype) all can be won by a specific gold trophy, but the 370Z Academy CANNOT be won in any specific method. If the saved game trick and trading didn't exist, it is the only car that one has no definite chance of getting regardless of skill. (I don't count the Gamestop Logano in this because the car was only available via pre-order DLC and in an oversight that corrects itself when the game reloads.)

The Camaro Edge Special? Only available in North America, and the code expired a long time ago.

But that was by code, it couldn't be gotten in the game without the code and its also region exclusive.

I'd like to put the Mitsubishi CZ-3 Tarmac up for nomination. I have NEVER seen one in the UCD and it is the only car (excluding DLC) I dont own, I have 2487 in games days passed.

Hmm.
The rarest cars statistically speaking are any of the DLC cars, as they don't come with the standard game.

In the normal game, the Nissan 370Z GT Academy, Nissan Xanavi Hiroto GTR, and my favorite car from all GT's - The Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring Car in Green.

The 2002 Pagani Zonda C12S 7.3 has been a very difficult car for me to find. I've only seen it once or twice in the UCD in the past year and a half.

In GT4 the hardest/rarest cars to obtain aside the Black FGT were the Driving Mission cars (can't remember the one you win first, but the other 3 are the Pagani Zonda LM, the Toyota 7 and the Nissan R89C (this one especially for not only these cars can only be won once, but you had to complete the hard Mission 32)), and possibly the Sauber C9 (awarded for beating the Formula GT Championship, a 15 race championship with each race being about as lenghty as a real Formula 1 race, and the only car that could beat this was the Formula GT, the only way to acquire it being beating the Nurburgring 24h; adding the fact that the AI and Bob would mess up many times with the FGT). Oh, and whatever car was the prize car of the Opel Speedster one-make race (for whatever reason the AI here are much faster than you are, even entering the race with a fully tuned Opel Speedster the AI Opel Speedsters are still faster than you, and you are offered 183 A-Spec points).
