7.5/10: My god. the challenger has to be the best looking of the 3 retro styled pony cars. It's styling cues match its classic counterpart very well and I love it more than the camaro oddly enough (even though the camaro is faster, but I still prefer the mustang GT 5.0 to it). The sad thing is, I rarely see the 392 SRT-8s.

I'm not exactly a fan of American muscle, but something about the Challenger just...works. I despise the new Camaro, and I've always despised the Mustang. But I'd happily drive a Challenger.

What exactly I so bad about them?

What exactly I so bad about them?

Overrated, ugly, primitive (at least until Chevy borrowed the Monaro's guts for the Camaro), and they're usually driven by massive posers.

I also get rather tired of hearing how some idiot's "American Muscle" will kick my little Civic's 🤬. Yes, in a straight line, it obviously will. You've got almost three times my horsepower. But unlike you, I can drive my car through a bend at speed without spinning out. And I don't have to make a mortgage payment every time I fill up the tank.

As a side note, I do love the 4th-gen F-body. So there's that.

Have you ever actually driven one?
An '08 Mustang GT at Mid-Ohio. Honestly, it wasn't terribly fun. It was decent in a straight line, but every corner felt like I was wrestling with the car. The Exige I drove that day was much more fun - it was even more of a handful in the corners, but it didn't feel like it was fighting you.

Having rich friends is fun....

The overrated bit, I think I know how you feel MadMike. That's how I feel about the idiots that fanboy japanese cars (especially the Nissan GT-R) and always talk trash about american cars. That's really a never ending cycle.

Anyway, I'm a big fan of the Mustang, but I don't talk about the Civic in such a way. I like the Civic, especially the Type R variants.
I get just as fed up when people keep saying that the Mustang can't take a turn. I mean, there's several videos on youtube that show the current mustangs cornering well. The mustang also has history with racing on road courses in general, that's really nothing more than a stereotype that's false.

I'm rating the DeTomaso Mangusta 8/10; love the styling, makes me think of the 1970 lamborghini supercars.

My next car:
Honda Civic Type R EP3 (My favorite Civic, personal rating is a 7.5/10)

8/10. While it can't compete on the funky scale of its successor, it's still a far better drive and one of the best hot hatches ever created.

This. Especially the trans am and NASCAR variants. The mustang was always known to be a pretty nimble car.

I meant have you ever driven an old one. Old meaning like a 60s car. Unlike a new one, the old ones actually have character.

Mazda 6 MPS: 7.5/10 - restrained looks and crushing performance make it one of the top sports sedans below a 330i.

Next: BMW 428i

The Silvia gets a 7.5/10 as long as it's stock (or tastefully modded). Great little driving car with a terrible culture centered around it.

I have no real problem with the old pony cars. I just hate the new ones. I actually rather like the old 302 Boss, and I'm about as far from a Ford lover as one can get.

Honda CR-Z

6.5/10; I liked where honda was going with the CR-Z. Making a sport hybrid and I like the look of it, but it's still not as quick as it can be.

Good News! Yes, rate the dacia sandero here.

(CR-Z) 8/10 - just. Certainly very cool for a hybrid car, but I do wish it was faster.

(Sandero) 7/10 Good News! It's actually fairly good for how cheap it actually can be.

 Lovely little car. 6.9/10. 6.9 because it lacks something...... Oh yeah! James May!

Sticking to Dacia....

The Dacia Duster Black Edition.

Yes, I can't get that car out of my head and now can't look at one without good ol' Captain Slow saying "Good News".

Sandero: 2/10- It's cheap but that's all it's good for.

VXR8: 9/10- M5 beater for much less money.

Duster Black Edition: 3/10- Made too expensive which makes it's badge of value for money completely pointless.

Lamborghini Diablo GT:

8/10 for Oliver, it's not a bad little car and the TG oliver bits help to its appeal.

One of the awesome sports sedans of the late 80's, competing with the likes of the BMW M3 E30 and the Mercedes-Benz 190E Cosworth. Had great racing successes as well.
