No reloading supplies anywhere either.

Next time we have the threat of a gun ban, I'm buying as many primers as I can afford.

Not even reloading supplies? Thats crazy. 👎

I'm frustrated, there is that manufacturer that sells totally awesome Mosin Nagant aluminum stocks, asked them about international shipping and all I got is a rude answer that they only sell their stuff to Americans. :grumpy:

Or just stock up on ammo. :P

I actually had this idiot at work tell me, with a straight face, smack in middle of the ammo shortage, "why would one need more than a box or two of ammo for each caliber".

When things normalize, I'm gonna bump up my inventory even more. .22LR is my new plinking ammunition of choice, and I'm going to be buying a lot of them.

I hear this from reloading people all the time.

Wow, that is rude.

''Need'' is an extremely dangerous word, what do we really need? A place to sleep, oxygen, food, water, clothing and some sunlight.
I love it when other people tell me what they think I need and what I do not need. 👎
Wow, that is rude.
Maybe they have something against Austrians, who knows. :dunce:

Thats the stock manufacturer I was talking about: http://www.cbrps.com/Products.html

Yeah, that was beyond dumb, considering.

God, they actually have Remington 597 stock in development(my .22 rifle). $295 is too steep for me anyway, and besides, they may not want to sell it to a Japanese guy in Oregon either. :dopey:

Same price as last time, but what got me this time was this "before the ban" B.S. It's pretty much using a scare tactic to cash in.

Yep. The prices of AR's are starting to tumble ... at least around in this area. They are pretty much all hovering in or about the $1200 range. The lesser / cheaper versions can be had around here for $895. At last weeks gun show in Niles, there was a guy selling the M&P 15's for $900. Still a little on the high side, but it is do-able. During the heigth of this gun lunacy, I seen the same gun @$1800. So, there are signs. Hopefully they drop even less, where they really need to be.

Yeah, as they haven't milked the cow long enough. I can't wait for things to normalize. I

We are all hoping for things to normalize.

A) - gun prices drop
B) - ammo prices drop
C) - ammo becomes an abundance ... again

Guys, you should really start reloading!

BUT

No reloading supplies anywhere either.

Truth ... supplies are diminished ... bad !

Start now, or at least when prices start to drop somewhat. Do what we are doing, each week, you go to Walmart, a gun shop, anywhere that sells ammo and buy a couple of boxes, bricks, whatever you can get your hands on.

Or just stock up on ammo. :P

Doing that now ;). Just earlier today, I was able to get 6 boxes of 7.62 x 54R @ $15.95 ea. Also just bought some "dirty ammo" - "surplus". 100 rounds of 54R for just $10.

Thats the stock manufacturer I was talking about: http://www.cbrps.com/Products.html

That is sweet. 👍

Knabbed the last of what one of the local gun shops had today. 100 rounds of .22LR's for $10 and 2 sets of 20 round stripper clips of 7.62x39's for around $18. So expensive....my dad remembers when 30 round mags cost $6.

I remember that one from back when. Chris Rock also didn't learn how to walk until he was twelve. He had to crawl on the floor inside the house growing up, because of all the drive-by's in his neighborhood.

I just received a letter from the CMP today from/through my affiliate gun club. On May 25th, I will go test with an M1 Garand to further the training on my markmanship skills. This advanced training will enable me to become a certified teacher by demonstrating the proper use and safety of firearms to the younger aspiring shooters.

Also through the CMP, it enables me to purchase an M1 at a lesser price. :D

Thanks. 👍

I will admit that I am a little apprehensive about it though. It's a stock M1, using iron sights only. The first shoot will be @ 300 yards. I'm pretty positive about this, I can handle that. The 2nd round is where the apprehension comes into play ..... 600 yds. with just iron sights. :nervous: It's do-able, but I hear it can be tough (pending elevation/wind changes).

2 weekends from now, I'll go to my affiliated club and begin practice with a loaner gun from a much valued member. Hopefully, (well I know he will) show me the ins and outs of the famed M1 and how to sight/adjust it properly to hit this range of 600 yds. accurately.

I once hit a target at 350 with irons sights, I feel confident you can do it.

But 600 will be tough...

Best of luck with you.

I doi. Very frequently.

This. There is nothing. When I saw nothing, I mean nothing. You walk into a store and the shelves are 100% empty. You and wipe your hand across them and collect a fair amount of dust.

Let me put it to you this way. The stores around my area are on 9-10 months backorder.

@Omnis

That sounds like a good idea. We've been stocking up on just whatever we can. Especally since deer are one of our main food sources.

Wow that's a load of BS right there.

What if you had an "American Connection" ? Somebody here in the States buys it, then sends it to you ? It's not illegal to send stocks across the pond.

Thanks, appreciate that.

I've actually fired an AK-74M on my military training.
We Russians are not allowed to own any combat guns - only "less-lethal" pistols (which use rubber rounds - useless things) for self-defence and shotguns for hunting or self-defence. (I don't mention airsoft things or other kinds of BS like that.)

I'm planning to purchase a Saiga shotgun in future - I need to get a license for it. However, Saiga is not very compact to use it for self-defence, especially in a small space (and it needs much time to get it ready). A less-lethal gun like Osa is only good to scare a criminal (and only if he's not armed with anything more serious than a knife), or on very close range (no more than 5-10 m). But I just don't like these rubber shooting things. They're inefficient, imprecise and unreliable. Saiga is a tough thing.

I'd be very careful and look up US munitions export rules before sending anything even remotely gun/weapon related to someone outside of the country

I agree with David, and be very careful. US has export control an ITAR rules and stuff for anything that has any sort of possible military use/ability.

Shipping parts and pieces are not really an issue (gun model pending). The issue comes when you start shipping ammo and complete guns. Then the red flags could come up. I've shipped stuff via an FFL dealer, it definately takes some of the heat and questions off when the package comes from an FFL or C&R dealer. Still, as stated by you guys, you have to CYA.

Crash

ITAR is a dog, and yes, it's a huge issue in this case.

I'll try and get some. Going to keep sharp eye out for some knives (no pun intended) :sly:

Very cool pics. Thanks for sharing. 👍 Did you end up joining the Russian Army? I also enjoyed reading about the firearm ownership situation in Russia in your earlier post!

And Nicksfix, guys are probably on to something with the international shipping. You can never be too careful. There very well could be some red tape on shipping just even gun parts, and consequence could be very serious for such violation. Not worth discovering it the hard way.

Not yet. Russan army is conscript, but I'm a university student right now, so I have a delay. But when I graduate, they won't ask me about my wish, and they'll try to draft me.:grumpy: However, I may be able to avoid being drafted due to health issues. This training is all I've had for now. I liked it, but I think I'm not healthy enough to take a real military service.

Although we can't have any combat firearms, we can have some of military vehicles! :sly: Like BRDMs or even BTRs.

A written-off army mech can be sold to a civillian person for private use when it gets demilitarized (guns with turret, radios and other military equipment is taken off). If it's on the topic, I'd like to tell you more... :)

I cannot see any reason why someone would not want to have a BTR to drive. How expensive are they to purchase?
