The plan is to keep the same (RGT) car throughout, currently we only have three Rounds scheduled (1. Silverstone, 2. Nurburg, 3. Spa) If we feel we have tired of the car, we can move on to another. Otherwise I have further rounds in mind should we wish to continue. Also I have a idea of running a modified version of the RGT! but that will be much latter, also i'm not sure of this group's interest in modified stuff!?

Yes I was planning on alternating to the WSR F3, but I was gonna use the same track as the Ruf's last race! I guess we can either run at the Nurburg GP-F or pick a different track?

My Plan was to create another thread to cover the WSR-F3 series, so time is against me. I'll keep you posted as I wanna try and build the numbers somehow! :boggled:

I have no issue with it personally. I think it takes at maximum 20 minutes to get a car to go how you want and it's not really a complex procedure at all.

Not bothered, I think the F3 will work at both venues - though perhaps it will be a bit more engaging at the 'Nurb? I see Silverstone being a lot of time spent at full throttle. Not that I'm bothered either way.

EDIT: In regards to Spa; when I was testing the F3s for the enduro and settling on Suzuka I gave spa a good shot and found that running out of revs was a distinct possibility, you only have around 4/5mph to play with in a slipstream and the F3 gets a huge boost from being in a vacuum. Just food for thought.

For some maybe. It's been probably close to three years since I even attempted to tune a car and I was rubbish at it then so I'm probably even worse now. After 20 minutes I'd probably be resetting everything to default and starting over. I'd probably still participate if tuning is allowed but the majority of my kit would remain at the default settings so someone else would likely have to take up the responsibility of filling 2nd place in the finishing grid. :sly:

We can always share some base setups, right?

We used to do this in a league on GT5 I was in; every week it had the same result - everyone would share their settings sheets and try them out and inevitably everyone ended up saying "nah, I like my set up best" ;). Sharing is always a good thing though and I would always share mine if asked.

^ That's what I've generally found too, all of us have our own driving style and one person's setup may not work for someone else. I'd bet money that Chase's setup would not work for me, for example. Not that his setup would be good or bad, just that I know we have such totally different driving styles (and hardware) that it wouldn't work out. But that's not to say there wouldn't be someone in the group with similar enough driving styles that their setup would work for me (or someone else). So it's possible in theory, but would require a bit of effort (I hate exerting effort!! :dunce: ). I'd probably just tune the transmission to suit the track and leave everything else default (except for aero, maybe). I'd gladly sacrifice a tenth or two if it meant I didn't have to visit the tuning screen.

:Dsame here , I'm able to put parts in the car by using the purchase button x , but after that I don't know what to do :indiff: .
as long as it ends not in RS tires ,1000Hp races I'll be there 👍

I think we should go to nurb next time , we'll have so much time to re-run several tracks till GT7 :D
and I remember a great battle with @BrandonW77 in the F430 at the famous Ferrari festival

Tuning cars has always been an interest. I like to understand the engineering aspect to things etc. so working on improving something to get the best out of it, is rewarding.

However... you could argue that with tuning, you are removing the character from the car! I will do some testing to see work works, and what does not!
I would really like it if we could control the extent of the tuning options within GT6, but I dont see this happening anytime soon.

Its just an idea right now, I'm quite enjoying the RGT as it is, and Its good that we have a level playing field to work with.

I agree, I also think it was a lot more rewarding in the older games. Without going on a rant some things are just silly on GT5/6 - particularly with regards to the forced induction vs naturally aspirated choice. I remember when they really altered how your engine handled and now you can't choose between either ... and apparently a back box gives you a 200rpm increase on your redline for some stupid reason, and you can install some cam-shafts with a huge overlap and run it along side a turbocharger :odd:.

Back on topic, I'm not bothered what you choose - though it could be a nice change? The RUF should have plenty of ratios for all tracks so I wouldn't say allowing for set-up is really ALL that necessary, though it could be fun!

Sorry guys, I've had an crazy week at work and at home, along with My Son's birthday on Sunday (whoops forgot about that), I also have to Travel very early on Monday morning for work.

So, if you don't mind I will postpone this weekend's racing and pick up again the following weekend, with the Ruf at Nurburg

No worries guys I understand.

As it happens I shall be away (holidays) for the next three Sunday's, and need to work tonight too. So I think I will postpone the Ruf cup until further notice.

Sorry for anyone who was looking to join in tonight.

Laters all, enjoy the football
