Now we have a potentialy very powerful Course Maker to play with. 50x50 or up to 100x100 square km. if its as good as I think it will be, that alone makes it worth it to me!

They could as newer releases have spec 2.0 on the disc, but does your theory make you eager to play GT6?

Yes. But GT6 is going to be a lot more than just new cars and tracks. This is going to be a lot bigger than Spec 2.0, which I honestly thought just added nothing but a lot of minor changes for the most part. It's going to have a new physics engine, a new course maker, and a new online system, AI, sound, and more we don't know about yet. I highly doubt PD can put out an update that will completely replace mechanics already set in stone into the GT5 disc with these things they have been working on for the past three years.

And even if they could, I would rather just buy a new game than put up with my not-so-fast Internet to update GT5 with the new content that will inevitably be many GBs in size. A GT5 Spec 2.0 disc with the current updates takes up 9 GBs on the PS3. Even more if you bought GT5 before the Spec 2.0 version came out. While I do have a 500GB HDD in my PS3, GT5 does not need to become bigger than it already is.

Also, I personally think it's just time for new game. Three years is a reasonable waiting time for a new GT game. Simply put, I'm not putting up with another GT5 fiasco again.

We need to know why PD decided to release a new game instead of GT5 Spec 3.0 and more DLC packs.

So far I can't find a reason aside from the possibility that the studio needs a financial boost before going serious with the PS4. Yes, for GT fans it's probably a no brainer to buy it, but the game also has to make sure that we remain loyal. Here's hoping TGS will be a GT6 revelation.

You've answered your own question..

GT"6" is to make them lots of money and to help the GT fans stay with the game/brand until the next real GT comes out on the PS4.

The PS3 hasn't changed, so why bring out a whole new game, just for the Christmas market - well, it'll sell a hell of alot more copies than GT5.5. Plus, they can market it as a whole new game, which in some people's eyes will justify charging the normal asking price of a new game (instead of an updated version), making them even more money.

By making it GT"6", there will be alot more talk/hype about it before it goes on sale, saving them money on pre release marketing - making them even more money (see a recurring theme here?)..

Considering how long the PS3 has been out, Polyphony has had plenty of time to get GT5.5 ready, so it'd be pretty hard not to make something better, even for someone as poor as Polyphony (has been in the last 3 years).

Maybe this is already posted somewhere, but any idea if you can upload your garage to gt6?
Will we be able to trade cars like in gt5 ?
Still the money limit ?
