Kudo's for writing the list out, but if you want it stickied a few things first:

Thats not true, as PD stated

"The table below shows which combinations of tyres give the most true-to-life driving experience in each model of the car. If a car is listed as "S1-S2", for example, this means that S1 tyres are recommended to simulate the grip of normal tyres for that car, and S2 tyres to simulate freshly-fitted ones."

PD doesn't not mention mismatching tyres for front and rear anywhere.

Also you are missing the Suzuki Cappuccino from your list and you have Evo X twice (one is supposed to be Evo IX) as well as other small errors, here is a revised list :)

Also notice PD left out a few cars like all the tuned cars (Mines + Amuse + GT concepts) but also the BMW 1 series tii concept, GTR concept and the Mazda Atenza.
thanks for the updated list man, but yea i really hope this gets stickied, i can only see the releif on all thoughs gtusers faces when they find out its harder and more realistic to drive now.👍...........sad about the tune cars and prize cars being excluded witch is strange..:grumpy:

Didn't mean to snap, sorry if it cam across that way. ;) Just to make things clear that combining different tyre compounds is (usually) a bad idea. :)

I can understand why they left out the tuned models and the concepts you can win, as there is no reference to what tyres these cars should have in real life.

On another note: if I check out my car (Nissan 350Z), it states that the recommended tyre (new) is S1. Since this car is fitted with Bridgestone Potenza RE050 tyres by default, would it be safe to say this is what PD used to determine the S1 figure for this car?

Indeed, for racing it's usually a bad idea because the rear and front tyres would heat up and wear out differently. When drifting, the rear wheels are going to wear out and heat up a lot faster anyway. ;)

Possibly. I would imagine the compound and characteristics were matched as closely as possible to those of the actual tire. Meaning Your Bridgestones would match most closely with the S1 tires in game... but may not hold true for other cars. Which is what this list is for...

Yeah, except they still included the Diahatsu OFC-1 in the list.

I think they would, since S1 is S1, regardless of the car. That would mean that it may be possible to match tyre brand/model to N1 thru R3. :) Which in theory would make it possible to select a specific tyre brand/model in the game, a.k.a. slap some Potenza's, Proxes, etc. etc. on your ride of choice ingame. :) This would add to the realism IMO, instead of just selecting 'S1' or 'R3'.

I was wondering what this manual thing was...then i discovered that its one of the icons i always ignore because it doesnT say "garage," "dealerships," "events," "arcade," or "online."

Don't the cars play with the normal tyres on by default? so that it drives as close to the real thing as possible (I can't find this out as I'm at work at the moment)?

Can somebdoy confirm this?

Don't the cars play with the most realistic true to life tyres by default? Seems crazy if they dont - can somebody confirm this as I'm at work at the moment and cannot check?

Since GT1 all cars come fitted with S2 tires by default.

No they have the default tyres for the event you are entering.

Good find 👍 Will try these options to see what I think :)

Most cars are fitted with S2 tyres by default in the game, but if you look at the list you can see they're recommending N-rated tyres for some cars to provide them with the most realistic grip levels 👍

Yes, I think this is a little lesson for all here, read the manual first!! lol:lol:
It might be good for something, you know it did come from the PD Team! Anyway's I think its great that they have tested the game to see what is the most realistic match for all these different cars! I think its a demonstration of there commitment to Realism!
PD Team rules!!👍

The in game manual really is pretty good, 1000x better than the printed manual that comes with the blu-ray version.

so you guys are saying with these tyre recommendations the cars will react the same way they did pre update? If so, praise the Lord (PD)! Just how this helps with online realism is the question.

No, this is the same list before the update anyway. Frankly in some cars atleast I think they recomended tyres are a little off. Especially now the difference between N and S tyres are greater (due to the extra grip S tyres got)

The tyre choices look fairly realistic to me for most cars, apart from things like the TVRs which I'd suspect run performance rubber (more like supercar tyres) in real life and not just normal tyres. Most things like Imprezas and even the Integra R come with performance tyres as stock, and you'll see it isn't a complete Japanese bias as the Swift is shown with N-rated tyres in that list, which again should be accurate enough.

fuji speedway, acualy seems challenging now.. especialy if your comming down the straightaway at full speed twards the first turn and you try to make it at 69 mph in 3rd, and try to get on the inside....but it just takes you into the sand trap.

It does not mean you should drive with N3 up front and S1 in the back, it means you should drive with N3's or S1's. N3 is the 'normal' setting for the F430 and the S1 is to simulate new tyres. That is explained in the same manual. ;)

I was reading through and going to say the same.

all the info is on page 11 you just have to scroll down, also it was in the manual from spec 2 (when I first noticed it ) I used it going through the events again after unlocking qts, I have used it in the lower pp events online but it's hard because most others seemed to use R tyres if they could.
