As you can see, there's a bit of a gap in qualifying. Basically down to drivetrain -- except that Merc. It was really close during the session, not just for the podium, but for that coveted sixth spot. At one point Jag had pipped another team by two thousandths.

Nick explains pretty well:

Oof that is rough.
Can totally see from the time between the MR and FR (except Hyundai that is bad)

RacingSwordsman for Hyundai is the real lottery winner...

I race with him in 2nd split NA from time to time. So the dice came up fortunately for him that he got the call
I have raced with him in a few events and beat him using the same car. I just didn't have enough time to run enough races to gather any significant points. Definitely devoting more time next round.

Tokyo Expressway in no way shape or form is anywhere near as good or beloved as R246 nor Special Stage, im sorry but it's the truth

Really? Even Special Stage Route 7? I can agree with R246 but idk about Special Stage. I'm not sure what SSR5/11/7 does better than TE East/Central/South. I think I'd like it more if they straight-up made circuits after the real-world Japanese highways that both of those areas are modeled on, with R246 already being a real-world road in that area. My guess as to why they didn't was because of something with the actual design or length of the road, and I think the actual highway layout somehow didn't get with GTS' game design. I could see that since it takes about twice as long to go along the C1 Inner loop as opposed to TE Central, and the latter is modeled on the former. And maybe this somehow wouldn't work with Sport Mode and how long they want each race to take. I can really mostly just guess, tbh.

Or maybe TE is meant to tide people like us over while they work on the actual highway circuits, idk.

Travelling halfway around the world to race against Aliens...not sure I'd call that a win :) Fair play to him for answering the call, hope he has a good one!

Meh Tokyo wet

I think 90% dont like those tracks

Should have been Nuburgring

Nurburgring, spa, suzuka or pretty much any other track. But no, it had to be one of the crapiest track of the game.

In understand why LB was taking about a big surprise. Because no one in his right mind would have chosen to add wet conditions on this track so obviously it's a surprising choice.

I guess it's time to get rid of the PS4

So who is everyone rooting for? It's gonna be a tough series considering the new format and that big gap for MR cars in the wet.
