PD will indicate which car we drive on our briefing documents.

For Peugeot, it was a no win scenario. RCZ was great in the rain but the car's 6th gear was absolutely useless at Spa. Even without our crash, we had maybe 9th place pace at best. VGT would've been much better but I don't even want to imagine how it would've handle rain.

Interesting. I can understand the decision for choosing Supra over FT1 for Toyota for promotional reasons. But by the same token it would've been better to choose the newer Mustang for Ford and real RCZ (in the sense that the base car exists, I know the racing variant isn't) for Pug. PD works in mysterious ways I guess :P

I don't even envy them if Renault ever gets in the finals and they have to choose between the Gr.4 tyre muncher Megane or slow-as-molasses Megane Trophy

The Manufacturer series should also translate to Gr.2 and Super Formula.

Anyway, a shame PD made the manufacturers too broad. Would have been better keeping it to the real GT3 cars. As this is on the world's stage, having Ferrari and McLaren absent from the grid isn't cool. It's a bit ironic that maufacturers that do have real race cars, miss these events.

The choices should be:

Aston Martin
Audi
BMW
Ferrari
Honda
Lamborghini
Lexus
Mercedes-AMG
Nissan
Porsche

Toyota go anyway because of the partnership with PD, I think esport needs to offer something different to "real sport" be it tracks or cars.

What an event for Jaguar!

After getting the race schedule a couple of days before traveling, we saw that there were no group 4 races in there. We were immediately disappointed because 90% of Jaguars good results across all regions came from the Gr4 races.

We started practicing on the rain and we noticed that the MR cars plus Mercedes had a big gap for the rest of the cars, so we basically were fighting for P6 in qualy. Kenny was the driver chosen for that and got P7, which was pretty good.

For the race, he started and was conservative in the beginning which cost him some positions. He then was blocked behind a big group of FR cars, then we made the call to pit earlier to give @Jomas free air. He got the car on lap 5 and raced til lap 10, on great pace. Then it was my time to drive the last 7 laps. I had free air as well and overtook the Toyota to finish 7th in the end, basically second on our class.

For Spa it was a bit trick. We realized that the hard tyres were horrible, so we knew we had to ditch it as quickly as possible. Since there's no Spa in the game, we had no idea which driver would use the hards, someone would have to sacrifice himself for the team and do only 1 lap. Nobody really wants to go to these events and race 1 out of 17 laps. I offered myself to do it, but having in mind that in the possibility of the same circumstances happening again, one of the other 2 drivers would have to do it if there was no clarity on pace of the drivers (I also hope PD brings back the minimum number of laps for each driver to do, that fixes this issue).

So we started 7th on hards with me driving. I got overtook by the Toyota and Chevy on mediums but critically managed to avoid the Peugeot spinning on Eau Rouge. I pitted on the end of lap 1 to ditch the hards and we came back with @Jomas on the wheel with mediums and still in 8th after the stop. He had free air and did a great job with a constant fast pace. He then pitted in the end of lap 8 and Kenny put softs to race til the end. He also did really well to make the tyres work for 9 laps and even challenged the Porsche for P3. In the end we finished P4 overall, which was an absolutely amazing result, having in mind that we didn't even used our, by far, best car.

I'm really happy with our team performance and strategies. We keep approaching a podium finish that would be incredible.

I think the Rain race should have been Gr4, I feel like it would have made for a better race overall. Great driving in that first stint by @Tidgney tbough in the R8, well done man!

What time do the races start today?

The same time as yesterday 18:00 UTC/19:00 UK/20:00 Europe/14:00 East Coast US.

I enjoyed it yesterday and it was nice to see my favorite manufacturer in the game take another win. But if you are going to run 3 compounds then maybe make the race a little longer. I sort of feel sorry for the guys who only did an out/in lap during the race, the RH tires seemed practically useless compared to the other two compounds. RSS/RS/RM would have been more interesting imo.

Then RM would have been the pointless tyre.

With pit stops taking so little time, and the tyre model making it hard to balance 3 compounds, the hardest available compound is always the compound you want to spend the least amount of time on.

Not so sure about this, the difference in pace between the RH and RM is much larger then the difference between RS and RM.

Group B should be interesting.

Monza is pretty easy on tires, so I suspect they will be ditching the RH tires after a lap. They should be able to get very close to half distance on the softs.

Wouldn't work due to the limited manus in there. It wouldn't be an actual Manufacturer Tour.
SF19 are just Toyota and Honda, Gr.2 Nissan, Lexus and Honda.

Still think having plenty of Manus to have a chance to partecipate at these events is nice.

It’s my Birthday on 14th so I’m just gonna eat some cookies and enjoy #FIAGTC!

Let’s go Hizal!
