thanks.., Chapter 5 might not get released tomorrow, I still don't have the pictures.., I base my story on the pictures I take, so maybe I'll begin Chapter 5 tomorrow but don't worry, once I get the pictures the story will just be a snap.., 👍

thanks a lot.., have to admit, i'm having a hard time because i'm working on two things right now, my garage and this.., i try not to put too much time on any 1 of these (man, it's really hard when you dedicate yourself to a video game, eh? ) but i will try my best to create more exciting races in the next chapters.., again, thanks for the comments..,

Chapter 5 : Twin Delta Part II​

The guy's partner, or Guiseppe's partner, then walked towards us and said, "It's now time for the second race. Who's the next runner??"
-"I am. Kyosuke Maiyuki."
"Marcus Gucci. Well then, let's get started."


Kyosuke said "This guy sounds like he doesn't want to waste time...oh well, here we go."

They got on their cars and went to begin with a running start. They are to race in the counter-clockwise direction of the track, since the last race was clockwise. Race 2, begin!!

[POV Shift]

"So, they beat Guiseppe... that means it is wrong to underestimate them. Well then, I'll drive all out!"
"This guy looks determined to win. But still, I'm not going to lose."

"A very steep downhill... gain too much speed and you'll lose control and come crashing all the way down. Must be nice..."
"I need to increase my pace and get far away from him. It's the only way that I will win this race."

"Whoa!! (slams on the brakes) What the heck?! After the steep downhill comes a hairpin?! Hmmm, I'm beggining to like this course..."

"We're now at the long straight. Even if he is a little faster than me, he can't pass me on this narrow road."
"As much as I like to slipstream, my car's bigger than his. Can't overtake either, not enough room between him and the walls."

"This is difficult, the space here is too narrow. Tori must've had a hard time too a while ago."

"He's keeping up with me. Guiseppe must be sweating cold when that yellow car tailed him. These Team MUGEN guys are better than I thought."

"I need to figure out now how I could pass him. There must be a place here somewhere on this course..,"

"Hmm... this hairpin just gave me an idea... looks like I have a Plan B now..."

"He's fast, I can't shake him. Looks like I have to do better."

"What the?? Are you insane?!?! We cant' drive side by side on this narrow course!!"
"Come on, just a bit more speed..."

"Hah! I got the clear track!"
"Great, just my luck. A wall is in front of me... guess I have to give up for now."

"I though I was done for back there. Lucky I was on the right side of the track."

"He's starting to increase his pace. My attempt to overtake him back there must've been a wakeup call for him. Good, this race just got more exciting."

"The back straight again..."

"...He's a bit faster this time. I can see that he's trying to pull away from me."

"I must win this race no matter what. I'm not gonna lose again! No!! Not like last time...!"

"Need to get a little more closer..."

"All right, time to use Plan B..."

"What the??"
"Gotcha..."

"There was enough room for him beside me??"
"Whoa, just enough space for my Evo..."

"Dammit, I got passed!"
"That was a risky move. But now that I have the lead, you have no chance."

"He's fast!! He quickly pulled away from me!!"

"Almost there, I can see the finish line!!"
"I lost.....again...."

[POV Shift]

The crowds went silent as Kyosuke-san came first. The people were all speechless. The best drivers around here, beaten by foreigners, by newcomers. They can't believe what they just saw.

The two cars rolled back. Kyosuke was the first to get out of his car. Like me, I can see that he is also delighted to have won.

"Kyosuke-san, congratulations."
-"Thanks, Tori. Man, I broke a sweat back there, like you did. Phew..."
"Excellent job, Kyosuke."
-"Thank you, Kagiyama-san."

"So, you lost too..,"
-"Yeah, again... Those Team MUGEN guys sure are something."
"I agree..."


I saw the two guys whom we just beat walk towards us. Guiseppe's partner, or Marcus, was the first one to speak...

"What can I say....you guys are.....amazing. You beat us fair and square at our home ground. Congratulations."
Guiseppe followed, "No one's been able to beat us here. Well, not until today that is..."


Marcus added, "By the way, there is another group of racers in Southern Italy by the Medit--"


Just as he was speaking, we saw two cars on the road, not far nor near, coming our way...

Kairi said, "Is that the group of racers you were talking about??"
Marcus replied, "No. We haven't seen them before..."

Looks like our job here isn't done yet...

Read VTiRoj's race report. I asked permission from him to make it a part of my story. But the Impreza Wagon's appearance doesn't end there, i just had a great idea..,

Nice use of the Impreza pic as a flashback for the Integrale driver. Also, can you see clearly how the Impreza is RHD and the Integrale is LHD? If GT4 had interior view and turning heads, that would been an epic staredown.

Anyway, the Lancer's race was awesome. No room to pass, but still pulling it off, great stuff.

Who are these Lancer drivers? Who will be racing Team MUGEN at what I assume to be Capri? And will Marcus have nightmares about 4WD cars overtaking him at the last minute?

I look forward to Chapter VI.

well, mine isn't really at the last minute. They were still far away from the finish line when Kyosuke took the lead, so there's still plenty of time for Marcus to catch up. But Kyosuke's just so damn fast..,

Chapter 6 : A Challenge Received​

Kairi said, "Is that the group of racers you were talking about??"
Marcus replied, "No. We haven't seen them before..."

Looks like our job here isn't done yet...



The two cars were slowly rolling as everyone was looking at them. As they stopped, the drivers of the respective cars got out and one of them said:

"We heard that there are some races happening in these streets. We came from Northern Italy to challenge the fastest racers around here. Where are they??
Kairi openly said, "Here. We are the ones you are looking for."

Guiseppe was surprised by what Kairi said, so he whispered to Marcus, "Hey Marcus, you're not stopping those Team MUGEN guys??"
Marcus replied, "Why??"
"Aren't we supposed to be the fastest around here??"
-"Well, they just beat us, didn't they?? Plus, those two are looking for the fastest racers around, not the locals."
"Oh.....you got a point there..."
-"But, if Team MUGEN wasn't here, I would accept their challenge. For now, let us watch and be the 'judges'."

The guy in the white car approached us and said, "So, you're the fastest ones around. Judging by your appearance, you guys aren't locals. Am I correct?"
Kairi said, "Yes, we are newcomers here just like you."
"I see. We challenge you to a race."

Kairi looked at me and Kyosuke. We nodded our heads.

"We accept. Although the race will have to wait until tomorrow. The main event has just finished, the races here will be cotinued the next day."
-"If that's the case, that's fine with us. We could also take the time to prepare our cars."
"Yes..." the man then nodded and went back to his car.

"The race will have to wait until tomorrow. We can take the time to tune our Lan-Evos."
-"I want to give my Evo VIII an extra kick. Guess now's the time."

The two guys then then left. Kairi went to Yamato, "Yamato, we need to tune the EK9 and the Evo V."
Yamato replied, "Looks like we're going to have a hard time with the Civic. It can't have too much power."
"More power only increases the wheelspin the car has. We have to be careful."
-"You got that right."

We got back at the hotel. After resting, Kairi told us that we need to go to the local car service shop because our cars need tuning.

"Don't worry, we have all the parts needed, we're just going to ask help from the mechanics there."


*later that afternoon*

We finally got to the shop. Kairi then went to speak to the person in-charge, we anxiously waited. While waiting, Kyosuke opened up a conversation:

"Say Kairi, how are you feeling about you car becoming faster?"
-"Me?? I don't know... I don't like this tuning idea, because I think my car will feel different. But, if it's required, it's okay for me."
"Is that so... For me, I've always wanted my Evo to have a tune-up. I'm so excited!"
-"Good for you, Kyosuke-san."
"I looked at one of our support vans containing the tuning parts, I was amazed at the assortment Kagiyama-san brought. Those suspension components look brand-new and shiny."

Just as Kyosuke was speaking, Kairi went out of the shop, "The shop is now arranged. Tori, Kyosuke, you two can now drive your cars into the garage."
"Yes, Kagiyama-san."
"Yes, Kagiyama-san."

So we got the cars in the shop. There, ours and the shop's mechanics got to work.

Kairi approached the manager again. Turns out, that person was an old friend and he once worked with Kairi when he was still in his younger years of racing.

"I'm surprised by your sudden arrival, Kairi."
-"I apologize, Morimoto. We needed as much help as we can."
"Why is that??"
-"We have an upcoming race tomorrow. We need to work as fast as we can and test the cars."
"Upcoming race, eh?? I'm guessing you have now started you 'racing team', the one you were talking about in the past."
-"Yes. In fact, we just won our first races this afternoon."
"Congratulations. By the way, that yellow Civic... is that the--"
-"Yes, it is."
"The one you--"
Kairi just nodded his head. "Don't tell that young boy anything about it. I will be the one to."
"So, you're keeping a secret, huh?? Haha, you still haven't changed."
Kairi smiled, "Once again, thank you for letting us borrow the garage for a day."
"Sure, no problem."

I was checking out what the mechanics were doing. I saw some working on the engine of my Civic, then Kairi approached me.

"They are adjusting the air/fuel compression ratio of the engine and polishing the intake ports. Hmm, it seems you must have some knowledge about cars. Can you relate to all of this?"
-"Well, not much, Kagiyama-san. One thing I do know is that, too much power on a car is not good. I'm worried about my Civic."
"Haha, you're right about that. Don't worry, we're not just bolting on parts, we're fine-tuning your car."

I put my trust in Kairi. I just hope my Spoon Civic will still drive good after this tuning. Meanwhile, Kyosuke seems to be happy about all of this.

"Cool, a large-capacity intercooler! But, what about a bigger turbine??"
-"The original turbine is already good enough. We're also installing a smoother exhaust, forged pistons, new rods and a new crankshaft."
"All right!! Arigato, Kagiyama-san!"

Then, the manager spoke, "Okay gentlemen, let's finish everything. These guys still have to test the cars."
-"How about the suspension and other things, Sir??"
"We'll tweak those after they have gone for a test run. Don't forget about those new tires."
-"Yes Sir!"


*the next day*

We came back to the site of the races. The two Italians, or Twin Delta, also came.

Guiseppe was the first to speak to Kairi, "So, you really accepted their challenge, eh?? Well, good luck to 'ya."
Marcus then saw the two Evos coming now, "Just about time, they're here. The race is now ready to begin."

The two Lan-Evos stopped. The drivers got out, then the one in the red car said, "Looks like you guys are ready. So are we. Shall we begin now? Who's the first runner??"
-"He is." (Kairi said, pointing out at me)
The man came towards me. "I'm Raphael Manella."
-"Tori Akawa."
The man nodded, "Let's get started."
Kairi asked the man, or Raphael, "The first race is to be in the anti-clockwise direction. Which position do you want, leading or chasing?"
"Leading, I'll be the one in front."
-"Very well then. Let's begin the race."

Meanwhile, Guiseppe asked Marcus, "Hey, isn't that my line??"
-"Well, it's typical for the one being challenged to ask the challenger which position he wants to start, right??"
"Again, you got a point... I'm excited to see this race."
-"Me too, I'd like to see if those cars from Team MUGEN really became faster."
"I'll watch from the esses right next to the long back straight. We'll just radio to each other what happens in the race."
-"Better hurry Guiseppe, or you'll be in their way. The race is going to start soon."


We are to race in the counter-clockwise direction of the track. I can hear clearly the new sound of my Spoon Civic's engine. Race 3, begin!!

BTW, Holdenboy.....back to your Torana comment with an episode here in Australia, that would take about 4 lines of writing and would go like this.

"G'day mate, wanna run??"
"Aww, what car is that"
"It's an SS mate, V8 powaaaaaaah!!"
"Okay, let's race"
Red light, red light, red light, Green light hits, Evo takes off.............
............
............
............Evo wins.

Evoboy looks for SS, only to find he turned off 400m back up the road after getting munched off the line.

You're on drugs Mafs, and I'd use an XU-1 for a touge, 6cyl. And an SS would eat an Evo for afternoon snack in a straight line.
