I can't wait to race with u guys again. I am still in the process of moving stuff to my new house. I need to get internet there and still have to get gt6 from the playstation store. Hope there is room for me when I am back in action. I miss racing with u guys so much.

We had a couple of great races at the weekend in the US Stock Classics and I've now added the Laguna video to post #110 - complete with Herbie Hancock soundtrack - for you to enjoy.
In the next Madness incarnation we'll be running naughtie cars from '00~'09 so hopefully you can join us then, if not before. (Still got 3 weeks left in the current series.) We're looking to shake things up a little by adding a success handicap which will hopefully keep the pack tight together where the win will really be up for grabs. If we can reproduce something like this, with different winners each week, then I'd be delighted. More to come. Good luck with the move mate, hope all goes well for you:tup:

I will be back. I am almost back. I am downloading GT6 right now. It will take quite a while. 348minutes and counting. make that 700min and counting. wish I had Comcast highspeed internet right now instead of at&t.
Man of the Meet: Tom Ascar. Great car positioning in traffic and two good results, well done!
As usual a lot happened. But first up apologies to richy for not making it clear about the white line at the last corner at Indy. The instructions were only given verbally over the mic and not typed in the chat box. I thought everyone got it so I guess you were away from your mic. Sorry for not making it clearer. First race was a bit lonely for me as I raced alone for the whole race. I like the car/track combo but running alone ain't my cuppa tea. The replay showed a good number of battles and was fun to watch. A few drivers were unlucky a couple of times but on the whole it looked like you guys had fun.
Second race at Laguna, how many times did I tap you Tom? Again, apologies. I'm afraid I had trouble judging your braking points.
Anyone want to have a guess how many times positions changed (overtakes?) in the first minute? 25! I made a video but the quality was rubbish so I might do it again, however, what a race! Action packed from start to finish. After the 3rd lap you, Mr Venari, got a clear run home and missed all the fun. Leo, good chase and had you been released from the pack earlier, I think you and Venari would have enjoyed a good tussle. Looking at the lap times, Leo and Venari were in the 41s and everyone else was in the 44/45s. There simply wasn't any space in the pack to let the car go but, for me, that's where the fun was; much more enjoyable than the first race and that's why we'll be looking to shake it up for the next series (2000~2009 cars).
Good to see Pinkie Pie Paul's name on the timekeeper's sheet too and, no, you did a great job on track P. You should just go for it - I don't think we're a serious outfit and, being an honorary madness member, no one would mind (you starting at the front and going all out.)
Still can't believe I got 4th in the last race. With 2m 30 sec left I was 8th and then drivers started falling like flies in front of me. Some great battles with Tom A and Colin and would do it again in a heartbeat despite not liking Laguna. Unlucky to richy for going off - hope you didn't injure yourself mate. Results up after dinner

I slowed twice to let you pass me Joe, hoping that, as a team we would score more points, but at the second time, Colin got through as well, lol. So much for that little ploy! If I'd realised how close to the finish we were, it was too late for you to catch anyone else anyway - doh.
Hey @tooma we are also a team! And since "The Beach Boys" is a much cooler name, you should close the door to Joe (and maybe throw him at the sand so we mortals can have a chance), and help me get to the top!

I am not sure i will make it to the next race, i hope so because the cars are great fun to drive!

I find it very difficult to tell you the following friends. Last Monday I had an appointment with my doctor to assess the state of my shoulder after the magnetic resonance and the result has not been very good. I have to stop playing immediately. Next week, I will begin a three-month rehabilitation cycle in the hope that this treatment will prevent intervention. This game is one of the few things that motivate me so I'm not very excited right now.
Anyway I would like to be able to follow in the races.
So this weekend I will go out to enjoy the carnivals and the sun might go out wherever it wants.
See you soon friends.

Very sorry about what is happening with your shoulder Al. I shall continue with what we talked about. I will not quit. If you want to contact me privately, I'll give you my email the next time we are online together.
Sorry to hear of your troubles Al. Keep up with the rehabilitation and get yourself well again. I'm sure there'll be a grid space waiting for your return. 👍
I know what you mean about missing GT6 and the online camaraderie, I'm missing it too. Perhaps you can maybe pop in and watch the races.

You know, I thought about that, Paul; uncertain whether putting a comma after "wife" would make it seem like I was meaning her name, or was talking to Tom. I think, no matter about comma or not, someone would confuse it, so I should have reconstructed the sentence, lol.
Rest and come back stronger Al. As Tooma indicates, with health related issues, you need to give them time to get better. So don't give up until the 3-month rest and recuperation period is over. And on Saturday nights, if you are not in the pub, come and watch our races!

Avoiding ambiguity isn't always easy. Take the AmE vs. BrE dilemma which I've always found interesting. Here's an example of what an American might say when writing instructions on how to enter numbers into a computer system and requesting the user not to enter any decimal point following a number:
Don't enter "6." Instead, enter "6."
Eh?
This is not at all clear in the American style. But in the British style, it makes perfect sense - subtle maybe, but at least the reader can work it out:
Don't enter "6.". Instead, enter "6".
(Across the pond, punctuation placement is different with quotation marks.)
And now that we all surf websites written in both AmE and BrE, as well as many other Englishes, it can become confusing (even for native English speakers).
Edit: Tooma, I'd remove your email cos the bots will pick it up and you'll get spammed.
Won't be long before you're back doing what you do best!

Don't listen to him Tooma. TJ is a much cooler name! Remember where your loyalties lie Old Boy!

Yes; the crux of the matter of grammar, is sometimes other peoples perceptions of how it should be done. The UK/USA example is good. "Eats bamboo shoots and leaves" - lol.
Good effort with your cartoon. Can't get away from cars. I'll take your advise about bots.
Both cars run well at their designated tracks, pity I'm not a Daytona Road Course fan, though.
FYI WilliFRendon, regarding track limits: I'm not bothered about cars running beyond the white line into the run-off area at T5 at Daytona. That's fine. Try not to steal too much kerb at the Bus Stop, though. The general rule we go by is 2 wheels trackside of the white line, but that rule is not rigidly enforced unless the driver consistently tries to gain an advantage by running outside the white lines. Running over the kerbs with all 4 wheels is okay occasionally, just try not to abuse it. The Madness is more fun than serious - call it some light relief.

Is there any support for having slipstream at Weak instead of Real for GV East Reverse? With Real slipstream, sticking close to the car in front and with a good run out of the last corner, you're not guaranteed corner rights for T1. When set to Weak, it will just about give you corner rights. With a tow (slipstream), both Weak and Real settings see the gearbox topping out, but only for a second. The Weak setting is rather nice with an extra gain of around 2/3 meters over Real. Any preferences?
In my opinion there is a place where drivers may abuse and get 4 wheels out it is after exit corner 3
But as you said we are in Madness for fun and clean driving
haha, that's what happens when you grab an image and don't check it. Thanks Paul. Not much gets by you! (Edit: image replaced above with the correct layout)

I think it'll make the race more interesting Colin. There's not much of a gain over Real but it's enough to give you corner rights at T1. So, unless there's any resistance we'll be running with slipstream on Weak.
