Questions about Replay and Drone Mode.

If I understand this correctly, the Replay camera will only work if you enter a race right? But when you are in FREEROAM and just cruising around, there is no Replay camera to watch all the places you have just driven to right?

About the Drone Mode. Can I use the Drone camera and put it in a certain area on the map and than drive my car to the location where I put the Drone camera at and start recording me driving around in my car? Or do I need to drive to that location first and than use the Drone camera to where my car is located on the map?

It would be great if the Replay feature is the same as Forza 6.

It's becoming more and more clear ExoticMachines is a troll.
He continues to ask extremely basic questions about the game, even weeks after release.
Would be better to just stop replying, because it's no longer amusing to watch someone ask "how do I change cars"
Even if you are that incompetent, which is hard to believe, there comes a time when you have to stop asking for help and figure it out for yourself. Read the instructions on screen, hit buttons, figure it out.

I thought you could use the replay cam when you use rewind, Race or Freeroam.

How about you be nice? There's absolutely no reason to be like that, pal.

After you finished a race, I believe there is an option at the bottom of the screen for Replay feature. But when you are just cruising around to all of your favorite places and want to watch it again, I don't see a Replay feature at the bottom of the screen. I will have to play around with the Replay feature again today to see if I miss something.

Don't think there's a Drone replay mode in freeroam. If you want to record yourself driving outside of races, have a friend to record your driving using his drone mode in co-op or online freeroam.

I think the recent DomesticMango video did such a thing.

The title of this thread is called "Relaxed, General FH3 Chat". So please relax.

I just bought this game a few days ago. I just think if this game was put together properly, new users would not have to figure things out, wing it, making guesses, watching many YouTube videos, search on Yahoo for countless hours on how to play this game correctly.

I never said I did not know how to change a car. I said when I am sitting at the Byron Festival location, how do I enter the Byron Festival race. On the screen, at the Byron Festival, it has the letter "X" on the screen. When I hit the letter "X", I thought I was entering the Byron Festival. Instead, the game asked me to change my existing car. When I hit the letter "X" again to enter the Byron Festival race, the game asked me to pick another different car. So now I am stuck sitting at the Byron Bay Festival with nothing to do.

To make even more confusing, I asked "Anna" at the bottom of the screen for help. Anna direct to a different location about 6 miles from the Byron Festival. But Anna, I don't want to race over there, I want to race here at the Byron Festival.

Maybe they should provide a long video with this game so new users can learn how to get around this game.

Hope this is ok to post here, I did look but couldn't see a thread for user created video clips...sorry if it is in the wrong place:

I "Think" I finally have this sorted, If not bear with me please this is the first time I have really had a go at capturing and uploading gaming content (other than sitting a camera in front of the TV)..

Assuming I am reading your post correctly:

The Festival Hub itself isn't a "race", it's your Garage, the Autoshow and Auction House.

TWYAHny.png

The [H] icon indicates that it is a Festival Hub. Races use smaller icons and are dotted all over the map; they do not appear at Festival Hubs.

That's how it should work; if you're having a different experience then there's not much I can help you with as your game may be bugged. If it is I recommend deleting your save file and starting over.

Honestly, I find it surprising that there's people getting confused on how to play this, it felt straight forward to me. I drive up to a race, hit x and if my car doesn't qualify for a race; the game gives me an option to switch cars. The menus tell me exactly which is which.

This is about the Replay feature.

When you are in Freeroam mode (not in a race mode), you can use the Rewind button "Y" up to only 7 times. After you use the Rewind button 7 times, you now can use the Replay feature to watch you car in action. The bad news is that with limited to 7 times Rewind button usage, it is only about 1 minute of watching your car in action.

So now I am returning this game because I thought it had a nice Replay feature in the Freeroam mode. Replay feature was my number one reason to see if I will keep this game. I did not buy this game to race, I am more of a car enthusiast than a racing enthusiast and like to see my favorite cars in motion. Unless they decided to implement a better and longer Replay feature in the Freeroam mode.

Why return the game? In the grand scheme of things, the replay isn't that important.

That is the confusing part. I switched to a qualify car but when I am done, the game asked me to do the switch again! I was switching to a qualifying cars like 20 times and the game never let me go anywhere.

For many users like yourself, it isn't that important. But to me, it is the most important. I just bought the game to watch all my favorite cars in action like Forza 6 and DriveClub and the upcoming GT Sport in 2017.

It's too bad because I really like the graphics and fantastic cars in this game. I feel bad because I have to return the game now. I am not much of a racer. I just like to cruise around and use the Replay feature to watch all the places I went. :(

You can also use Photo Mode to capture pictures of your cars in action.

That's strange, the game just asks me to pick the car I want and then I could jump in the race after selecting it, then I don't get asked to pick a car again until I enter the next event. In which, I just pick the same car as before or pick a different car if I want to drive something else. The game should be allowing you to race right after you pick a car.

Either you're doing something wrong or you copy is glitched.

Thanks for the great advice. But how do I know which races to enter in order to Level in the Byron Bay Festival? I want to level up on the Byron Bay Festival. Maybe it does not matter which races you enter on the map and it will Level Up on your Byron Bay Festival. I am at Level 3 at the Byron Bay Festival and would like to Level Up more. So I guess I have to guess or wing it and pick any race on the map and hoping that will Level Up at the Byron Bay Festival.

ok, than there is something wrong my game disc for the Xbox One. Because after I picked the car I want, it does not let me enter any race. The car just sit there and doing nothing. Yesterday I let the car sat there for like 30 minutes to see if it will start the race.

The replay mode in Horizon is identical to Forza 6. Finish race, watch replay. You surely can't have expected it to have a replay for free roaming considering how long you could be driving for.

For $60 for the game, it should let me watch my favorite Replay in Freeroam for unlimited time. LOL!

No, unlimited time is unreasonable but at least 1 or 2 hours or Replay video in Freeroam. Right now, you only get 1 minute in Freeroam is just wrong.

Simple, there isn't an order, you pick whatever race you want and then you gain more fans in order to level up the festival when you complete the race. In which, leads to leveling up festivals.

I'm still a bit surprised that you're waiting to do a race. Um, can you show me what you're doing when you select a race? I just really want to make sure it's the game first.

Also, I should note that were not allowed to post more than one comment in a row. Just edit your post if you have more than one thing to say.

The issue happened in Horizon 2 as well.

Let me explain the design choice this way:
You can either
  1. Allow for unlimited replay time, but slow the game to an almost unplayable state.
  2. Allow for 1-2 minutes of replay and full race replay and not compromise the hardware capability.
Think about how big the map is in Horizon 3. There is no chance in hell that the devs would be able to work all of that into a one-hour replay.

It's becoming more and more clear ExoticMachines is a troll.

After reading the last replies, I'm agreeing with this sans the the troll comment.

Wanting to return it because you can't access the replay mode for more than a minute or whatever in Freeroam is one thing, but the questions asked are another. Now you're asking how do you level up a Festival? You gain fans to do that through almost everything you do in the game; it says it in the top corner of menu half the time how close you are to the next expansion/showcase.

C'mon, the game is nowhere near this difficult to understand.

I got a chance just now to watch a Replay of a race and thought it looked pretty nice but not as nice as the Forza 6 replay feature though. And it is longer than a minute which I like.

So I have decided to keep the game and just enjoy watching all the race Replays. Maybe in the future, they can create a Replay for the Freeroam mode.

You can also access different camera angles in the replay menu!

Here is what I have found out. When I went to other race events, I was able to pick a car and it let me start the race. But when I am at the Byron Bay Festival, it will not let me start the race. I think someone in the previous post told me the Byron Bay Festival is just for changing your car and auction house.

Thanks for your help!

I've never touched a Horizon game until now and I've had literally zero problems understanding the menu and event structure. If anything I've only been slightly miffed by the game not telling me where I could buy cars. That's minor though.

What does the word Troll mean anyway???

When someone asking for help, does that mean Troll? Or when someone throwing hatred comments at everyone on this forum mean Troll?

The game is nowhere near this difficult to understand NOW because the more I read, the more I learn how to play this game. That is the whole purpose of technology creating something called a Forum. Again, if this game was better design, I would not have to joined this Forum to find answers and to be called a word "Troll".

I mean, when someone you know (your wife, your kids, your friends, your grandmother your grandfather) or even a stranger ask you a question that they don't understand, do you tell them that they are all bunch of Trolls?

So when you sit in a college class and you have a question for your teacher, does your teacher suddenly shout out....TROLL!!, he is a TROLL everyone!! He asked me a stupid question everyone, he is a TROLLLLLLLL!!

I am sure at some point when you first started playing Horizon 1, you had to do some research and ask some questions right. You didn't automatically knew everything about the game from Horizon 1 right? If I was playing from the beginning of Horizon 1, I would not ask so many stupid questions as I am now.

Well. I knew exactly where to buy the cars in the beginning, I just could not figure out getting around with all the races and everything on the map. Everyone have a different mindset of playing video games. I am not a video game type of person, I just buy these car games because I am a car enthusiast and car design enthusiast.

I thought the replay in FH3 only showed the default views in replay and no tv-style camera.

Just spend 1.8 million on a classic Fiat :embarrassed:
