Honestly? I wouldn't be surprised if they axed VW because of PC ********. Remember the Chevy SS fiasco?
What's not PC about a VW?
Know what's ironic? In the movie Cars(as well as in real life), the VW bus is the peace machine and the Willys Jeep is the war machine. ;)

I would be surprised. Audi was also a part of that cheating scandal and they're in the game. Mercedes-Benz and BMW are also guilty of diesel emissions cheating and they're in the game. And the Chevy SS "fiasco"? As I recall, that was at the insistence of Chevrolet. Are you suggesting VW is insisting their cars not be in the game so they can seem PC?

It would be the pettiest thing ever if that was the reason we couldn't drive a camper van in a video game. I mean ffs come on.

I agree. A racing game without VWs is just unthinkable. I'm sure there's just some final details in the licensing agreements that have to be ironed out before they can be announced.

Side note: That off-road racing Beetle from FH2 would be perfect for Australia. I had so much fun bouncing around France and Italy in that car.

I agree. Not licensing your name and vehicles for use in a game simply because you cheated regulations is no way to attempt to get back in the public's good graces.

As for the Chevy/Holden SS controversy, that was the "official" explanation given, but there are at least two reasons I'm not buying it: One, multiple racing games for mobile platforms have added the 6th gen Camaro with SS badges and names (as opposed to the "Super Sport" cop out) intact after FM6 was released and, second, NASCAR Heat Evolution has SS markings on the Chevrolets.

Not saying that Microsoft/T10/PG are liars, mind you, but the situation has a funny smell to it...

Just noticed that they confirmed the Ford Deluxe Coupe. I'm in the process of collecting my jaw off the floor. That's the second car that I posted in the wishlist thread on Forza.net, and it's been confirmed! :D

Real Racing 3 also has the SS badges, etc.

EDIT:
and I think I know why certain car trims in the past Forza games seemed to be dropped, they were mainly old models from the Xbox 360. Turn 10 has just been holding on to them for the Xbox One until they could create brand new models that have better detail.

Forza Horizon 3 will include new weekly challenges dubbed Forzathon, Playground Games creative director Ralph Fulton told Polygon today at Gamescom.

The feature will include weekly, themed competitions where players can win prizes not available in other parts of the game. Challenges start in October, just after the game's Sept. 27 launch on PC and Xbox One.

Of note is the event Oct. 14, when players can win a Nissan Silvia S14, and an unannounced event Oct. 28-30. News on that event is still incoming, though Fulton said players will be able to win and drive a vehicle that "has never been drivable in Forza before, which you will not believe.

It seems it's happening!

Nissan S14? Really?

"Here's your S14, now shut up about it." ;)

If it's anything like some of the Unicorn challenges in Forza Motorsport 6, it'll be easy for most competent players to get. Those that really want the car will put in the effort to earn it, would make sense if that week's event is drift-themed.

As for the "car you will never believe" hyping, the last time that phrase was used we got this:
