For all we know, maybe that's how the EA contract has changed. Maybe Porsche has to be paid-for DLC for other titles.

I really wish Porsche themselves would just clear things up for the entire gaming community.
I'm pretty sure many years ago, when there was that large Porsche thread in the GT forum, that someone had managed to get a response out of them. I remember that their response didn't offer anything more than simply, "We let whatever company has our license handle it as they want". Big dispute about them giving it to EA of all companies, when really, it was just EA giving them a boat load of money for an industry Porsche isn't all the concerned about.

new guy scoffs at 30fps on console, but what got him so excited was running ..@30fps :)
maybe he didnt realize demo framerate(30hz), but for sure he wasn't complaining

ps
I havent seen anything about fh3 engine, and whether it continues to run physics & inputs at multiples of framerate like previous games.
of course this probably is the case, but if anybody has seen it confirmed I'd appreciate to know it

Because he knows that PC won't be locked at 30 come release. Obviously he can notice it's locked at 30 right now.

horizon is a series that gets pretty mch niversal acclaim from those who try it, correct?
fact is that even right now, no one, absolutely nobody outside of t10/pg guys has never ever played it in anything else than 30hz.

I think maybe he didn't even know that his demo that got him excited was running at 30
and of course his comment that ~"now that forza 6 was running @60, it seems strange that horizon3 will be running @30, backing down from 60..." to me it sure points to the lack of knowledge as to how the forza franchise pans out.

forza 5 was 60 on console debut, then next year forza horizon 2 was open world and 30. ta-taaa revelation! :D

Still ignoring the fact that 30 vs 60 is a discernible difference, making the criticism valid.

Stop defending the game with points that are irrelevant to the subject. It makes no sense.

@SPhilli911 will be doing the same soon :D

first of all let me make clear that I am a forza motorsport guy, not a horizon one.
that being said, horizon took with ease that special position I had for select games like PGR

now, about 30 vs 60 difference. in my experience, the smallest gap between these 2 framerates I have ever seen (I mean very-very good performance at 30) is in horizon series.
One may compare horizon 2 to every nfs, crew, evo, driveclub and tell me in his own experience which one feels much more nimble, and I could even say to try this comparison even with many ~60hz games that are out there in these consoles. I wont name names here, but I urge everyone to do his own testing.
I think that part of why forzatech "feels" so good (to me), is the perfect optimization (we read about this procedure before fh2 launch), but also the fact that they choose to run physics and inputs at frequencies multiple of screen rate (and that holds for motorsport too).

So, bottom line, I'd much prefer to see a guy -proclaiming to be a specialist- to grab a subject like this with the devs, rather than a scoff and a false info blimp about backtracking from 60.
The main host of InsideSimRacing has made in the past some very high quality (imo) reports on turn10/forza, so this one fell a little bit short in my eyes.
thats all.
:)

edit:
he did film though the most pornographic video of e3 (imo again)

Maybe I'm wrong, but based on the game play vidoes I have seen on this, the physics look super arcade-like. I haven't played a Horizon game, but have experience with Forza 3 and Apex; those felt good to me. Anyone on here play FH3's demo at E3 and have some input on the physics, a comparison of what other games it is like? I'm excited but on the fence.

Horizon's physics have always been on the arcade side, to make it more appealing to the casual gamer who is scared of the "simulation" term.

But , FH1 at least (only played FH2 on the 360 and that one was terrible), it wasn't as arcade-y as say, Burnout or Midnight Club or NFS.

Can't speak for FH3, but... Horizon physics feel like Motorsport physics, that's part of the appeal. Except you can be a fair bit more heavy handed and it's easier to hold cars in a drift.

Probably the best way to describe it is that every handling facet is eased slightly so that it's just noticeable in the final object

The only thing stopping me right now is lack of money, otherwise I would have been on it like flies on.. .well you know.

I got great value out of my FM6 Ultimate Edition, so I have hope for this one.
It'd be sweet if they released a Forza Horizon 3/Rainbow Six Siege combo.......:sly:

Looking forward to driving around parts of Australia. Are barn finds back? Or wherever old cars would be found down undah?

The physics are based off of the Motorsport physics but much, much more easy and forgiving

Nice vid.

Just wanted to quickly throw in that 30 Hz is not the framerate but the refresh rate which no TV or monitor in this day and age does. All of them are a minimum of 60 Hz which is irrelevant to the fps. Both Horizon and FM are running off 60 Hz, but one outputs at 30 fps. However, if you have a TV that offers higher refresh rates either natively or as an enhancement, then you can double the frames to make it look smoother. Sure you already knew that though. ;)

After watching a dozen or so FH2 vids, it doesn't seem as bad as I originally thought, looks pretty fun; like a bit of a break from sim racing, but better than NFS.

Yeah, after playing The Crew for a few days after it was made free thanks to Games With Gold, even that's better than NFS. Really, NFS is at the bottom of the arcade-racer list for me.

In the Smoking Tire podcast, Greenawalt talked about what separates Horizon 3's physics from FM6's. It's the same engine, but he essentially boiled it down to this: every surface has been made a bit grippier. It makes it more approachable for casuals, but cars still react how you'd expect them to. I've got a few ridiculous tunes in FH2 that absolutely need care if I want to keep them pointing in the right direction.
