This^^^^ 100%. I used to watch that show religiously. It will never be as good, ever. So I won't even bother. I definitely didn't bother with the Clown act American version. That was just, bad. I don't care if Tanner Foust is a great driver or not, he's still a :censored:bag.

I met Foust at a motorsport event and he was ace with my 5 year old and took time to show him his car and signed posters etc. Never watched US TG either, but frankly how you can hate on Foust but like Hammond May and Clarkson is mental!
I suppose they have their core fan base in ugly middle aged slightly bigoted man child's. I'm a handsome devil so I can't connect with them. :)

Haha! That's neat he spent time with your kid, I bet your kid got a big kick out of that. 👍

I'm not suggesting he's a bad person, maybe my wording was a bit too harsh, And he is a great driver, I've just never cared for the guy.

As far as Hammond, May and Clarkson, I'm not bigoted, I'm not that ugly, I'm not quite middle aged, and I thought they were great. I guess check back in Ten years and maybe by then I'll fit your description of their fan base.

I was so bored with the old format and don't think i'll bother with the Chris Evans show this time round either. I never wanted to see a show just about reviews of bland cars but neither did i ever want to just see 3 blokes just pretending to get into scrapes or break down or bump into each other...
I still think there are people out there who think its not all set up for comedy value....

Of course you have seen the content for the upcoming show's to make that assumption...

Yeah well the "PC gone MAD!!!!" brigade worship at the altar of Clarkson, so they can't really complain if I use some fruity words against their hero....
I don't mind Clarkson really, I mind his fan base, he's a very clever and witty man, he's almost playing a character really... I don't like his mental fanbase though... he rallies against things like religion etc yet his followers are like a bunch of religious zealots... They worship his stand against Politically correct and freedom of speech, yet if you slag off the Top Gear original 3 you get shouted down...
Its like Jesus, he seemed like a good guy..but his fanbase!! Christ...no thanks..
Have we gone enough off topic yet?

Some of it yes, its more like the US version IMO, nothing wrong with that but i'm not bothered about watching Chris Evans or Joey from friends talk about cars. Its coming up to the season of wall to wall racing , i love motorbikes, cars so there is almost too much racing to watch on TV let alone getting to real tracks to see my brothers race..so the time to watch people talking about cars in a TV format...nope i'll leave it if that's OK with you..

Fair enough. I really didn't follow the fanbase etc. I don't use Twitter or facebook, and really not many other websites besides this one. I can see your point, I'm not a rabid fan at all, I just liked them. :P

Actually I liked Clarkson, but he was my least favorite of the three. I was always partial to James May. Anyways yes, back on topic, sorry for the diversion.

Bit on topic.

I think that the reason why ForzaVista narration is per one series instead of per one car is because in Forza 5, it has both narrations. One generic for series and Top Gear Host for one car. Since the Clarkson-Director Controversy, the hosts are forbidden to represent Top Gear and Turn 10 has to seek an alternative.

It doesnt worked well for Turn 10. They instead deleted the Narration per car and left it instead of replacing it.

Yes basically when he got sacked for punching an employee people in the UK kicked off, like not being acceptable to punch someone at work is yet another crazy example of our "ooo'man rights" being trampled on by the liberal elite or the guardianistas, "ooo its PC gooone MAAAD!!" they wailed as they waved their Daily Mail and Sun newspapers aloft...Scum, pure scum...

Back on topic having the Top Gear track to hoon on will always be a treat in Forza.

Ok a bit confusing. I am doing the Le Mans showcase event but oddly enough whenever I pass any cars on the grid, it still shows me in 14th place. Is that due to the fact that I am only passing the cars of the lesser classes since I assume it's a multiclass event where classes A, B and C only compete against each other?

Correct. In that event, there are LMPs and GT1/GT2 class vehicles racing in separate classes. If you're overtaking, for example, the Viper GTS-R or the Corvette C7R, you're just passing lower class cars, and as a result, you don't pick up any positions for passing them. I'm assuming you're using a mod that starts you in 24th, judging by the "pass any cars on the grid" blurb. The mod will indeed place you in the 24th grid spot, and move a random GT1/GT2 class car into your original starting spot (where you would have started if you hadn't used that mod).

Probably because recording individual narrations for over 600 cars would take an inordinate amount of time....

Maybe but in that case they should put some text then like Gran Turismo does, reason for having something like that is that without any description about what makes that car unique, great and worthy of being in the car roster you end up with the risk of people glancing over them and giving them the attention they deserve.

I'm pretty ignorant about cars and motor sports in general, I enjoy watching F1 and that's about it having that in GT was awesome it made me learn about cars and even little road cars ended up feeling special. Even a Yaris, seriously.

If Forza's fan base would have that maybe they would be more appreciative of what they have and stop complaining about that S14 they keep mentioning (I have no clue what car that is, I imagine it's a special Silvia?)

It's the 6th generation of the Nissan Silvia, sold in the US as the Nissan 240SX. It was the last generation we got in the US, and basically one of the last affordable Japanese RWD lightweight coupes sold in the US. People love it because it makes such a great drifter. It can be built up on the cheap to be a great alternative to the M3, too.

I come to Forza as a car guy. I have always loved the history of the car. I've got hundreds of books and magazines filling up my bookshelves just about that subject. That's why I'm always more excited about something like the Opel GT or the Sunbeam Tiger than the Ford or Chevy Daytona Prototypes or Ferrari 488GTB. And I agree with you that having a bit of history about the cars would probably help players become a little more knowledgeable and invested in the game.

Agreed. It just isn't the same. And yes, the US version is plain dull and boring. In fact, I find it rather silly and uninspiring.

It's actually the old GT class race with the GT40, 330 P4 etc.

So this just showed up. Forza.net offline for anyone else?

I'm using the Fiat Dino @E290 stock, in Free Play. AI cars are:
3x Mercedes 300SL
5x Fiat Dino(including mine)
4x Jag XK120
4x Mercedes 280SL
4x Corvette '53
4x Fiat 8V

Need more Vintage Touring cars. The Classic Coupe class juat smashes it. I will say, having a few of the same cars makes it seem a bit more like a proper manufacturer's racing cup.

Now that the car pass is complete I thought I'd go back and run a few of the career races.

I have run three different class series, one with the new Fiat Dino coupe and that was pretty fun in the 400 class.

Here's where the accolades stop. I ran two other series and I saw the DLC cars run as AI but I cant actually choose to use them myself... this is DLC I own and I cant actually use them!

Ok one series, maybe that a bug but two of out three series??? Worse still the AI being able to use them, ostensibly using "Drivatar" technology based on real Forza fan driving? How did they get this data when no actual human was able to drive them in the career game???

Now I realise Turn 10 didnt do this deliberately, why would they? But this sort of oversight really sours my $100+ investment. But hey, at least I get hundreds of hours being denied use of my DLC that was my own choice to buy.... and worse still, stuff like this isnt fixed after not 1 or 2 or 3 but SIX dlcs have been released.

It even puzzles me how these bugs crop up. Who would think that people would actually want to use DLC cars in career races? No one I guess...
