Remote Race bot?

Wanted to know if a few things were possible...

Could you make it so it would fill every space in a race??
Ive noticed that races have a random amount of drivers in them...

Maybe a log out button, so you could log in a secondary account??

A manual/auto switch for starting a race...

If anything goes wrong, could it restart itself??
I've noticed it takes its time starting a new race sometimes... Maybe a timer to restart if it takes too long to do something.

Maybe a switch to select your own driver or have it random??

A layout like it has with the possitions of the race but with more details
Instead of hovering over the helmets..

EDIT:

Drop down menus...
To select preferred friends....(maybe up to 5 or something)

Your Own Driver (then extra option 'random')

Race lengths (5,10,20,random)

Race starts....(automatic,manual)

Also multi skin UI's (like in winamp if you have used it) Big screen version (with more details) or Small screen (like it is now)

Option to save replays...

as of now I have used it. its a great app. just one thing.

it doesn't fill up all the spots. now thats not really a problem.

what it does is randomize the racers and i like how it chooses different races.
the UI is fine. it totaly is understandable.
I am not sure how it gets the total money
the best part is. you don't have to do anything and you can be a good b spec citizen and race all your buddys friends.


Amazing app. what not one week after its been out. and i am pretty sure that with the work you have done, you may want to make a phone app.... Of course you would have to at that point call PD and ask them lol. let me know if you need any help. my first love is PHONES. then GT5 then everything else lol
 
Yonis, can I please have it too :)? My name is pretty lowdown on the lists (Vinny...), so I don't often get the chance to race.

It's tools like this that lead to features in future versions of official apps - keep working on it, and I say now - thank you for saving me from having to keep my phone on charge all day tomorrow! I was RR'ing from work today, and nearly drained a full battery in three hours; now I can just leave my netbook to do all the hard work for me, bugs aside :)
 
Just wanted to mention that i've been using this widget for all of this evening.

I created a second account to host some races for mine and my friend's 6 drivers and had quite a lot of trouble getting the second race to start when using this app. First race would be fine, but the second would give errors such as
"No drivers to race!!"
something about commands not being transmitted, and that i dont have a bspec driver available (i.e someone is using him)

Its impossible for someone to be using him as its only me and my friend that are friends with this hosting PSN.

I managed to get around this problem by levelling up my second account and getting 2 drivers from which the widget could choose from.

This has remedied all the errors i initially had, and the widget works absolutely perfectly now.

I've earned 600K in 3 hours and am looking forward to a nice present from this widget in the morning after running it overnight tonight.

Yonis, if you can get this into an iphone app, I'd happily shell out for it.
 
OK so there is Auto A-spec with 2 rubber bands, a paper clip and usb keyboard.
There is the weird swedish guy working on Auto B-Spec.

And my over-under for auto B-spec online was 5 days and sure enough it arrived. Once I'm done with the 24 hr B-spec I just setup, I'd love to beta test and provide sample code as a javascript guy. I'll message for the new modded code after it is complete.

Very nice little app! Good work in progress. I second all the suggestions that T3mpu5_Fu91t mentioned, also, how about letting us know which race are the Bobs doing?
 
Just sent a PM to everyone who I had a message sitting in my inbox from, letting them know that I've updated the Widget. If you haven't gotten a message, I'm sorry! It's at the same URL I gave you last time though.

This update addresses a lot of bugs related to losing connections, not filling driver slots, and the UI state. It also adds a preference for how many drivers should be left open for others to use.
 
Thanks very much. I had a problem initially first time I ran the widget where nothing was working, but I reloaded and everything was AOK. Many thanks for this :)
 
1st race running with the new widget & all 16 slots filled. 1 single racer from 15 separate friends. Sorry wrecku (if ur reading this thread), u got the V8 disadVantage...blame Yonis :P
 
What do you need to run this bot? Will it run on any browser in any system? Or is it a standalone windows app?
I have a lot of free PS3 time, but I am often too busy to set up new races regularly. I would love to run this app, but I only have macs here.

You need yahoo widgets to run it, that's all.

Hey Yonis, updated bot is working well. 1 thing to maybe consider for a future version is the ability to set a list in preferential order of which of our own drivers to use. For example, I would like all my hosted races to be raced by 1 driver. If he's not available then use another specific driver & so on. Just a thought, not sure if it's possible or not?
 
Is it possible for anyone to get a Linux version going? I have an Ubuntu server running 24/7 but atm need to leave the Windows machine going too to run this.

Yeah, I'm running 10.10 myself and I have a VMWare WinXP box running this... :)

Blue2morro (one of my work mates) has said your doing a widget/bot for GT5 remote races could you send it to me ?
 
Got it up and running with no dramas.
Just one thing i would add to it. Is to add a tab for you to select what length of race you would like to run.
Other than that this is a very good piece of kit.

Thanks yonis. I hope with this little tool your drivers will be run by me as well as before it :P. It's working well so far and yes to choose the challenge would be cool, but it's not that needed
