Me too same story. One disadvantage when using Ds3 first view is easily got accident on tight turn (not purposely) cos the stick steering isn't smooth enough. Tight turn always slower and get push out from behind. If QM make those cars become ghost whenever they merge, there will be no more ' Destruction Derby' races.

I keep getting good laps at 1:55.1-1:55.3.....close but no cigar! It looks like the spot giving me a little time loss is the high speed left and right before the back straight. Then the last chicane is tricky.

I also found that lowing the car to 75/70 has helped it square back up faster to get back on the gas sooner without as much wheelspin. For me.

...testing continues. I change something EVERY race unless it was too brutal to know. Like one race last night my laps were; 2:25, 2:09 and 2:05. lol

I've been having some good battles with this event so far, very close racing towards the front. I'm hitting 55s on occasion but have found that I'm a strong starter and usually make up a lot of places off the line.

The stock setup is very limited on a DS3 however and while I have made some changes I feel the car needs a full "base tune" to unlock all of its potential. Has anyone shared any decent setups that I could try out?

On a different note, I do find it annoying when somebody shows up, cuts the final chicane and doesn't get a big enough punishment for it, but fortunately I haven't seen many of those so far.

Last night I discovered the driver Inhad issues with a couple weeks ago. He either wins, or spends the race taking out the leader if he gets crashed early.
moxitops is his handle. Ran some 5:46 total times and 1:53's, but very abusive when it doesn't go his way.

Took an hour to even get into a room. :(

Ok, I have found a set up that's feels easy to drive(for this car) and shows promising speed. I'm getting 1:55's easier and have a new personal best of 5:52.5. I'll post it for anyone interested. I've basically tried something from all the good tunes here for something I liked....

RH 74/71
Springs 10.22/11.55
Comp 3/2
Ext 4/4
ARB 6/4
Camber .3/0
Toe -.05/.10

Trans
3.78 FD (112max speed setting)
1)3.154
2)2.301
3)1.807
4)1.486
5)1.245
6)1.065

LSD
5/14/14

HP 412
98% all power adders except engine tune, left std. No oil change, chassis rigidity improved.

DF 130

I set the ballast to -50 with no weight, just makes me feel better. lol

My best lap is still only a 155.35, but I'm getting close! Time for a steering wheel? What's the one to get?
I tried this tonight and it worked well after a few minor changes. Best lap was a 55.3 with my race time often hitting 5:55. I won my first race and was often on the podium. @Daduce1947 was in one of the lobbies too :)

Cool! I have changed a few things myself since then. I haven't found more speed as of yet, mostly from aggressive QM's. I'm trying more stuff tonight, as usual though. :)

I changed the trans so that 4th and 5th pull a little better. I also changed the shock ext to 4/5 and front toe out is at -.08 now.

I'll post changes if I find a decent increase in performance.

Ok, tonight was awesome. Ran my 54, a 1:54.50 to be exact. With a total time of 5:50.7! I did some tweaks that the car seemed to like.

Softer springs. 9.95/11.54
LSD changed to 5/14/15
Rear wing 135

Tomorrow I plan to test only toe front and rear. But since I'm having knee surgery, in the a.m., it may have to wait a day, or two. lol

Hey mate, yeah I was in those lobbies with you that night. I was on course for a 48 when he purposefully blocked and brake tested me so that he would give me a penalty. I've been using a mixture of SW10's and Aussie HSV's tune and getting mid to high 53's at best. It's good fun and a really easy way to build credits quickly lol, only downside is the long initial connection time......

Yes, I remember racing with you and seeing him bang into you a couple attempts. I was about 3-4 seconds back and his actions got me close, so I backed off a bit. Didn't feel fair to advance that way, just a game after all. Supposed to be FUN!

I have brake checked a couple of people, but only when they were very aggressive giving me penalties and I had finally caught back up and gotten around them only to be banged into from behind...BRAKES! Don't like doing it though.
He does it for fun it seems?

You were certainly fast! Are you using a wheel or controller? What type?

Tonight's racing was a bit of a challenge. Ever try to get around someone who is way slower, but sideways every turn? That was tonight's racing. He spent the entire night hitting anyone who tried to pass and pushing people off the track, a really poor sport with little ability to run decent laps and earn his position any other way. Not worth even posting the handle.

But I did manage to get past him/her a couple times and win some races. Only to have the system bump me down the standings screen and pay out my credits for second place, THREE TIMES!

I did run a couple more 1:54's with a best of 1:54.34 from 7th place. *sighs,shakeshead
Still a blast in spite of it all!

What's the payouts for 1st, 2nd and 3rd? I just tried the quick races for the first time earlier and was surprised by how much i got for 9th place. Can't see a podium finish anytime soon but i'd be interested to know.

I've seen 690,xxx with a full room for 1st place. The payout is grid count dependent.

The most I've ever been paid for a win is 735,000. Not sure of the way it works, but it pays well. With a full crowd even mid pack should be 200,000+!

Back on in a few minutes for more cash!

I was just in a race with @wedjim and it was going well for both of us until the final corner. I took the inside corner in the final chicane and slowed down too much which let him by, but on the final turn he was squeezed into the pit barrier by the car in 2nd. Shame too as it was a very clean and close race up until that point.

In the second race we finished 3rd and 4th however the leading two were very aggressive and shoving us about.

When there has been no bumper car action the races have been a lot of fun so far however, very close at the head of the field.

I don't agree with the tactic of cutting across the green strip on the final chicane, however it's tough to remain competitive if everyone is using it :(

Those were some close races PJ! I had fun.
... there were a few guys who didn't want to race clean. Touching or rubbing is ok, I appreciate hard racing, by clean I mean not intentionally shoving someone off the track or especially into the guard rail in the final turn when they get the inside advantage. (That cost me 4 or 5 spots). But I took my winnings and raced in that room about 5 more times. Down to only 3 cars. I won 3 and got second twice against the car that shoved me into the rail...Then it was dinner time! Booooo

Btw, that chrome car is a new one with only 26 laps or so on it. A work in progress trying some new things.

The green area use is fine with me. I don't use it if the blocks are there, but I do if they have been moved. To me if a penalty isn't given, it's the track and it's faster if your car can use it well.

After many laps in this venue it still amazes me that many drivers seem to think the prize credits come from each other vs PD. I've witnessed many achieving a mid pack finish when a clean run would have netted them 2nd or 3rd & 1 or 2 hundred thousand more in credits.

By the end it was us two and a driver from Austria. When there was no cutting/bumping we were all on pretty even pace.

I'm still getting understeer from mid corner onwards, it's quite frustrating. The rest of the car feels great but until I get that issue sorted I don't think I'll get in the 54s.

I have found this car likes to roll the corners, so I brake early, coast or match throttle- prior to the apex, then progressive throttle to full, starting as the wheel begins to straighten. I get understeer braking with wheel in it & oversteer if over-aggressive with the throttle. LSD 7/20/10

If I lift a lot I can under-shoot the apex, so I usually keep some throttle in it even when downshifting.

It seems from the testing I've done that the car or track change a little each time you log in. It's also better in warm up, than it is in the race.
That aside, my car steers well and will haze the rear tires on exit in a few of the turns, so I up shift to reduce the wheel spin. You may be doing the same thing?
All I've done to add exit steering is tweak the shock extension and front toe out to suit the moment. But there is a fine line.

As SCClockDr said, the LSD is also a big factor. Yet I'm at 5/15/15, totally different then he is.

All about the combinations. Still working on it, as most of us are.

I'd really like to find out rajhcore's set up. He was running 1:52's on occasion, 1:53's easy and sub 5:46 total times!!!

I was in a room with you for the second time this week and both times the countdown to the race start just keeps recycling over and over and the race will not start. I later raced against rajhcore for three races and my 5:48 times just earned me second place each time.
The grip of the track varies greatly from room to room. Sometimes my car simply will not turn at all. My time can go up to 6:04. That is a 16 second difference!
What changes the grip so much? Does each room have different settings or is it a connection issue? I know SRF can either be on or off when you enter a room, but the 5:48 to 6:04 times were with SRF on.
I have also entered a room with SRF on and in the first race SRF is off but all races after that SRF is on.
One day hopefully I will race against you.

Yeah, I was hoping to try and keep your pace, but never got the chance. The constant reset is cool for tuning, but the money during testing is even better, ha.
My best total is 5:50, plus I'm always messing with everything, lol. But we'll get to race sometime soon I'm sure. My recent knee surgery has me on way more than normal the next few weeks.
I haven't seen that big of a spread, but I have seen from my best to a slow clean run of 5:58. Not sure what causes it really, maybe its based on how many races are running and how many cars each time?

Ugh, dude is such a troll. Gold paint, raging prick, fast as hell.

Figured something out today. One of my better cars was sluggish and barely getting decent 1:56's. Restored chassis rigidity, 1:55.1 and 1:54.7 back to back. Make a note. Only 700 miles on it.

I also ticked off a female racer, with a handle ending in 666. I got loose out of the keyhole and she got along the outside leading into the high speed chicane. I felt banging on my right door, even though I had left as much room as I could, after 3 or 4 bangs, I sent her into the sand, had enough. Boy did that piss her off. Messages, waiting for me the next race. Tried to race me once more but bailed out once I pulled away. Shame, she was fast to, saw her get a 1:54 lap.

Tuff to make new friends in the heat of battle.

In short. First turn is every man(or woman) for himself. After that, race me clean, I'll do the same. Otherwise we'll party for 6 minutes and let the chips fall where they may.

6 million credits today!

I just did 2 races this evening, finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The strange things however is that I got no CR for this at all, despite the room having 10+ drivers.

Anyone else getting the same?

I have had some major glitches like that. A blank screen, then it says preparing next race...

I won 6 races yesterday that paid me for second.

I think PD owes me about 15,000,000 credits for all the times I was never paid or paid out incorrectly, lol.

Used my dark grey car today and won 7, bobbled in the 8th race and let the guy by on the inside that was second since it looked like he wanted it bad! Then won another and let those guys have at it after that so I could buy some cars.
I was only running 5:52's working on my 3rd best car...No really fast guys in it.
Fun times still!

Last night I let one of the hackers under my skin after being pushed off the track in the chicane from the lead...twice by the same dude. So I cut the last chicane and got up on his bumper, 1:52.67 lap if illegitimate ones counted ... Pushed him off the track at the finish line, but lost by .007. Then signed out.

I should have known when I saw all the mangled cars watching the race before my first one.

Glad to see new seasonals today. Kept me out of QM's so far.

Also...
I have noticed I have several cars with the same set up, but some faster than others. Same state of rigidity, etc.
Weird.
