Interesting side note, I'm watching the newest Top Gear and James May is driving a Renaultsport Clio Cup. :)

Tonight TG USA has Tanner Foust attempting to drift all sorts of things, bus, limo, etc. Looks to be entertaining.

The sooner the start time the better for me. Also my teammate got called into work this morning so it is looking like I will be running solo.

I'm deeply sorry that I didn't show up in today's race. I was quite busy with some things & couldn't log on.

Points have been updated. Congrats to Aderrrm for whooping on everyone in his 1:33.1's during the race, entirely in a different league from anyone else. :P

Heads up to those who signed up and didn't let me know you were not going to show, I'm letting it slip this time but if you don't show up for Race #2 and don't let me know you can't be there, I will delete you from the registration list.

Sorry guys, don't know why I kept getting booted. I run several league races every week and haven't had connection problems in a long time. Looked like I wasn't going to be competitive anyway but I would have at least liked to have finished. I'll give it another shot next week.

Very good races today, and about Aderrm, wtf track was he racing?? I thought maybe a 34 flat would be fast time, but....... 33.1, that is just unbelievable. Nice clean hard fought battles, more people would have been a plus...

Well GP/D is a great track! :D I was saving my tyres a bit during the first race, and then on the last 4 laps I think it was I put in a quicker lap time every lap. Slightly strange lol.

I agree, more people would have been a plus and would have made the reverse grid more... reversed. :P

As for next week, I think 20 minutes qualifying for a 10 minute race followed by 2 10 minute races with reverse grids would be awesome. That's my suggestion but I'm sure you have something sorted out already.

Ok, I'm gonna say, sign me up as I should be good to make the next set of races. I was unsure whether I could make this first one and as it happens, I couldn't :( . So I'm glad I didn't sign up sooner only to miss the season opener.

Looking at Adam's times there, my presence in the first one would have made no difference to the winner at all, lol. I ran some laps last night to see how I might have done and did manage a 1'33.8xx, but consistency was terrible. Mid 34's were average, so just wondering A) How did Aderrrm do it? ;) and B) What was everyone else running?

I'd like to know that too. :)

I was averaging mid 35's. Hit a low of 34.5xx at one point, maybe with some drafting help. My car has a bit of off throttle understeer though.

I find the car a pain to try and tune and get quite frustrated with it.

I've given GVE a run today and managed a best lap of 1'06.1xx, but again, really struggling to repeat it, never mind improve. I even found myself resetting the suspension back to default! lol Mid to high 6's seem to be where I'm at so far for anyone looking for a guide.

If there's a practice room up at some point this week, I'll be happy to join and try to figure this thing out! :D

Team points have been updated. Each team only had one qualified points paying position, reserve drivers do not count towards team points.

Had a blast racing with you guys. Gonna need to get a handle on my tune. I wouldn't mind sticking closer to you fast guys for a lap or two. Hopefully next week brings better things for Team Caffeine!!!

Thanks for showing up guys as well R1600Turbo for hosting the series.

Another thing I just thought of guys, I noticed a lot of people going in and out of the room for the first race. Only one person ever said anything about being disconnected. If anyone is having connection issues, please tell me. That way I can decide to open a new room, etc.

I was averaging low 34's I think but I can't remember now. :P I was only pulling away from you Turbo at a slow rate, like 0.5 seconds a lap?

And I'm sure you have the replay if you want to watch one of my laps. :)

Sorry I didn't take part in the second race! After the first race, I got a black screen with the GT logo in the corner. Usually this sorts itself out after a little while, so I left it. Eventually though I had to quit the game and reload it, and when I returned to the room the race had begun :(

I was way off the pace anyway. I haven't done much tuning to the car, but it drives nicely already, so I'm not sure what to adjust. Hopefully I'll be able to be more competitive in the next race.

I watched the replay of race 2 this morning, and Aderrrm was really fast in sector one and three it seemed(not that he wasn't fast in the second sector but...) I think his best time thru section one was under 39 seconds. Its unfortunate that my teammate ketiux couldn't make it, cause when we were practicing he was clicking off 34 flat laptimes with no draft, so he may have had something for aderrrm.
My race 2 recap:
I finished 4 the in the previous race so I started in front of aderrrm, RT, and wardez. Going into the first corner I knew I had to be aggressive to try and get the lead early. So me and owens went side by side all the way throuh the Mercedes Arena. Exiting turn 4 I had the inside line so I got the drive out of turn 4. I then pulled a small gap on the pack, but turns out it didnt last too long. I led the first lap but going into the first corner aderrrm got through on the inside of me, then RT got sucked into the first corner and bumped me out(nothing terrible, and he did give me back the spot(which he probably shouldnt have because he was the only one that had a chance to run with aderrrm)). So with that slight bump aderrrm checked out, there was no way any of us were catching him. So after leading my first lap, I then starting lookng to see were RT was, cause I knew I was going to have to deal with him at some point in the race. He eventually caught up to me around lap 4. As for my laptimes, I was around the 35.3 - 35.8, but RT and I were bumper to bumper for pretty much the whole race. I know I was probably holding him up a bit, but by around lap 8 I made a small mistake coming out iof the first corner(little back end kick out), RT pounced and came up the inside of me in corner two, I squared him up and got him right back in corner three. (My thought was if I don't get him back right away, he was going to drive off into the distance) It was only a matter of time though, and RT got through, but I was able to keep him in my sights. We then swapped back and forth a few times, and going into the last lap, is where the excitement began. I had the lead going into the first corner, but RT came up the inside of me to try and overtake, I was able to keep enough momentum around the outside to have the inside line going into the second corner. Still, he was right on my bumper and I knew that he was stronger thru Warsteiner(turn 7) and onto the back straight leading into the chicane. So coming into turn 7 I hit that corner as good as I did all day but sure enough, RT was right on my bumper exiting, he then easily drafted past. This is where things went from bad to worse for the team BKUx3 driver(me!!!!) I knew I could get into NGK a little deeper than RT, but was undecided on where to make my move(my heart rate was thumping by this time) Thinking back on it now, I should have set up to try and overtake him in the last corner, since it seemed I could hold the inside a bit better and still get decent drive on to the home stretch. Instead, I totally brain faded and missed my braking mark by a big margin, and slammed into the wall. Giving second place to RT, he didn't even have to work for it:-( Thankfully we had built up a big enough lead over 4th place so I limped home to finish on the podium. A 4 - 3 for third overall, not a bad day for me.
Great series, great cars, and I really like the fact that we are using the standard transmission's. Can't wait until GVE, only thing is I ran a couple laps and my setup, that seemed to work great around GP-D, doesn't work on GVE, hopefully I will figure something out by Sunday.

I saw that people were reporting bdubclub was lagging and he wasn't showing up on my screen so I ducked out of the room and re-joined hoping to fix that issue. This was about 10 minutes before qualifying started so I thought I would be fine. I apologize if that was against the rules. The only times I left after qualifying began was when I got booted during the race, unintentionally of course. 👎

Not against the rules to leave, just hoping people would tell me if they disconnect so I can find a way to fix it. 👍

Well, I did get disconnected half way through both races but I'm not sure why and don't expect any concessions because of it. If you have any advice I encourage it. I have top speed Internet from Comcast, hard wired to a 600mbps router with a gigabit connection. It's been working flawlessly for the last 6-7 weeks during the Capp Cup and I haven't been disconnected from a room since before that so I'm really stumped as to why I had problems Sunday. :(

Guys, I really hate to do this but effective immediately I am canceling this series. Tomorrow I will be cancelling our internet service at home so that I can try and save every little penny that comes my way. If someone would like to take over, I'd be glad to help you get it set up.

Sorry guys. :(

Well I'm both sorry but respectfully proud of your decision to put something you really like doing on hold so you can save better. Lots to be learned from that.

I wouldn't be able to run the series but I'd definitely want to help the someone who does take over, if it happens.

Also, does this mean FMSC's getting pushed back, indefinite hold, hm?

Take care

Definitely respect your decision RT.

Hope you cab get things squared around and be back this winter.

Brandon has asked if I was interested in taking over this series. While I'd love to, I truly don't have the time. Many know I am a single parent with full custody of my two boys. Between them, work, and life. I barely have the time to prep for races.

I would host and do all online duties if someone is willing to do the paper work so to speak.

Let's keep this series going. Fun cars!

Sorry to hear this Turbo, but as has been said by others, we respect your decision. I hope you're able to keep yourself occupied and entertained without the GT5 online community in a way that costs less money than internet charges.

All the best buddy and see you soon!
