Repaved Daytona in gt6?

If there's any hope for the 24 Hours of Daytona... that'll be it, well, and a day/night cycle on most of the real life tracks.

I wonder if they will change the chicane to the correct one used in the 24hr this time around. Always bugged me that they got this wrong in GT5.

I hope not, the repave killed the track in real life.:yuck:

So you would've preferred it to just fall apart and make more cautions every 500 just to repair it? I realize people like the old track, but it was literally coming apart. It was inevitable that it was going to need a repave sooner or later (unlike the majority of the recently repaved Mile 1/2 tracks).

Daytona 2011, or day to night. Or I can dream.

@Tornado, more grip levels, and the resurfacing led to less bumps in the road.

If you guys remember, we got a repaved Monaco in GT4 after the real thing was repaved -- and it's not even the official track. I'd say there's a chance but who knows. I think since NASCAR isn't being promoted this time around it'll probably be barely present if at all, so Daytona probably won't get enough attention for a repave.

Why not have both? That's the best part of driving on virtual tracks.

Here's someone with their thinking cap on!! Since the old version of the track is already in the game, add the new version as a separate, dated track, as they did with the LeMans configurations.

That would be the best hope, though I think the track won't get any makeover this round.

As much as I hate repaved surfaces, it'd be nice if PD kept the track up-to-date. And if they're also planning on having a Daytona 24 hour race in GT6, dynamic time is a must.

Didn't Fuji have like 4 variations from different points in time in GT4? I'm sure they could still leave the old Daytona in there.

The repave can wait, what they should do is include the other two variations of Daytona (Bike and Infield Course).

We didn't have any choice in real life, but we do have a choice with the game. We can keep the old surface.

I was responding to the "The Repave killed the track in real life" statement.

As far as the game, just put both, easy as that.

Because the paving of an existing track in GT5 is a problem...?

What's next? Will PD have to do updated versions of all tracks, because the trees have grown since the last game and it's not accurate anymore...?

Weird priorities.

GT5's Daytona surface is outdated and it'd be nice (not needed) if it had an update. No need to take the topic and twist it into something ridiculous. Trees have absolutely nothing to do with this because, you know, we drive on the pavement, which is a fairly important element of a racetrack.

The pre-paved Daytona was not represented accurately at all in GT5. It might as well have been week old pavement, way too smooth. Anyone who has driven on the real track can tell you this. The new "paved" version wouldn't make much of a difference over the track we have now, because they didn't get it right the first time.

The thing that I don't like about GT5s version of DRC is that the bus stop is not the configuration that they used for the 24h of Daytona. I believe that the repaved Daytona only has one configuration for the bus stop so if they update it, at least they will get the bus stop right.

This is probably the only change I can think of that will have a major difference to the track, aside from the colour of the tarmac of course.

But it would be interesting to see, if it was updated, whether the new Physics engine would make the car feel different on the old and new styles, if both versions were included of course.

But I doubt it'd be that dramatic.

Not seeing them doing any changes to track, but there is another layout that the bikes run they could add, the track that PD mapped I believe was from 2006, they have since added inner turns with flatter rumble strips for the bikes, plus exiting from inner course the track comes off near the west horse shoe back to the back straightaway past turn two.

I'd like to have both, but I wouldn't care if they don't add the repaved version. I'd be happy if they did, though. There's just something about dark, freshly paved road that I love. It's like untouched surface.

Being a huge NASCAR fan myself I'd personally like to see it be repaved.... And maybe a day/night cycle. They said all the cars in GT5 will be in GT6 so i'm guessing that includes NASCAR's? Is a repaved Daytona my top priority for GT6? No, but it would be nice.

Monaco gets "repaved" every year for the course. Other than that, nothing on it has changed & the GT rendition has always made sure to keep itself distanced from accurately recreating it, anyway.

It shouldn't be hard to add the repave version of Daytona on gran turismo 6. I remember on NASCAR the game 2011 they had the old surface And then on the next game they came out with the repave version on NASCAR the game inside line. I know this is not big deal but it would be nice to stay up to date.
