Just got off from the Gr.4 daily at Interlagos (wasn't exactly the cleanest of SR C races, but that is another story). Anyways, this race essentially just confirmed the one problem with user-created liveries; one bloke in a GT-R had the standard expletive for showing disregard for his opposition plastered all over the back of the car. After the race, I had already sent him a message about threatening to report him, but he had already left the room. When I left, that was when I realised that I had no idea how to report him. I know that there's a flagging feature for liveries in 'Discover', but I knew he was smart enough not to upload it, lest PD be on his tail, as searching his PSN ID as a tag in 'Discover' quickly confirmed. So is there a way to stop people from violating the beauty of authenticity when you see them turn up during the race? Because to be honest, it's the last solid thing left when your SR is stuck at C or below. Or do I leave it up to the PD authorities to hunt him down? I don't ever want to see this game tarnished by unprofessional displays.

What livery did he have?

I too report it, also when looking through decals in the discover section. If it's abused it'll get taken away so we all have a responsibility to keep it nice.

I don't understand why there are apologists defending this, or at least turning a blind eye. It's not just about preserving authenticity, there is a real risk of PD looking at it and saying "Looks like we've made a mistake" therefore ruining it for the rest of us who actually waited for a feature like this to use it properly.

I think I reported 2 chinese with swastikas and they both got deleted (I think...)

I know it means something else in chinese, but seeing liveries with this symbol on just isnt acceptable and PD really acted fast on this one, at least :)

How old are you? I cannot understand how something like that can offend someone or ever draw his attention!
Remember, this game is not rated for, or limited to adults. Parents shouldn't have to worry about their children being exposed to inappropriate material in a Gran Turismo title. Furthermore, I agree with the others. It would be a shame to lose the livery editor after years of requesting it; just because a few bad apples couldn't comply with the clearly stated rules.

No offense meant here, mate, but would you explain "the beauty of authenticity" and "unprofessional displays" ?

It's all walking on thin ice and thankfully none of us has to judge anything.
I'd probably smile seeing that car on track and as long as his / her driving is proper I wouldn't think twice.
Guess it takes someone running Hitler's "Hakenkreuz" to get me started with reporting.

Btw on Amazon you can buy this as a JDM decal for 20,- € :

:)

I'm afraid now I'll offend a lot of people with one of my pinkish chrome liveries :scared: ...

Actually you can find that symbol in ancient Greece,Romans,Iran,Hindu temples,England,Japan,China and so on that some people from different cultures do not find it "offensive".But of course for most, this has a different meaning and its good (imo) to be deleted (even though its history goes way way back).

Thanks - learned something 👍.

I think the fact that you had to censored that picture undermines your point somewhat

You see, you do have a place in the sand to draw a line, and besides, would the FIA, who is funding the major tournaments in Sports mode, sanction something like what you posted, in its uncensored form?

Censored ... of course. I am a user of this website and a member of this community and will act according to the rules ( the AUP ) ... which I find great mostly. It's the lines the founders drew.

You're right, everybody has to draw his own line according to his opinions, emotions etc., no question. I assumed you posted your case to probably read about different points of view. That's what I did - my line is just a little bit more to the left or to the right :).
I'd plead for a bit of generosity though. If we sum up everything that can offend anyone, there won't be much left to do for no one.

Btw I don't think the FIA would sanction anything on my pict :D.

Considering you're from Germany you should have done some research at least in history class at school regarding where the swastika originally came from. Also if it's not showing and tilted 45° to the right it's not even the actual Nazi-swastika.

So far I haven't come across some offensive liveries, only some pretty funny ones which had "understeer" plastered all over the car or a huge STOP-sign on the rear

Personally I couldn't care what is on the back of a car, I would just be annoyed that the driver was in front of me.
Kids playing the game shouldn't have to see that I agree but it's not like they don't see it all over the internet and in real life.
I can't be bothered to set up my own livery but if I did it would be as simple as across the front of the car I would have "Insert Coin" and on the rear of the car I would have "Game Over". Small things etc...........

I'd be interested to know the general consensus of what people find too offensive/abit of mild fun, I wouldn't go down the route of expletives except for that one time in NFS.

I think I verge on the mildly offensive atleast to some people with the pre-requisite Playboy and DirtyBird Chicken liveries, Both real companies with replica and made up liveries.

So where is the line between offensive and playful.
