Reporting offensive liveries during the race

If we're going to start reporting liveries that violate the terms of use, then you can report everything, because almost everything breaks rule 1. Basically every logo that has been uploaded has been protected by copyright...

Someone swears in their logo, so what? As long as it isn't racist, sexist, hate towards a religious group, or anything like that, who cares?

A ridiculous point to make.

I've been around a fair bit and I don't know that since hitting puberty, I've ever actually been offended by anything I've seen, heard or watched.
If you want to file reports against every single decal then that is your prerogative.

What we may or may not define as breaking the rules or offensive is irrelevant, as it is not up to us, it is up to the moderators and admins who mange the reports.

Fairly confident he was being sarcastic.

Maybe, but;

doesn't read as very sarcastic, despite the prior paragraph.

So you were agreeing with his use of sarcasm to express the issue? And besides, this isn't just an issue intrinsic to motorsport. Anywhere where users are given free rein over imagery in any software, there are going to be those who are edgy and want to liberally use the feature however they seem fit.

I think I reported 2 chinese with swastikas and they both got deleted (I think...)

I know it means something else in chinese, but seeing liveries with this symbol on just isnt acceptable and PD really acted fast on this one, at least :)
Interesting. I wonder if one reports the rising sun ( Japan's version of the swastika ) if it will be deleted. If you're Korean I imagine you'll be just as unhappy as a European seeing a swastika.

I agree with this.

Again if someone has F you on the rear I could care less.
I'm more concerned about their racing etiquette.

Dude I was being sarcastic. I'm not going to report logos for copyright, as I'd have to report myself as well...

They're all just words at the end of the day. You either expect people to understand and show a degree of respect and self censor, or accept that large portions of society these days DGAF and will behave with no self maintaining level of respect.

Can't say I'm offended by much personally, but I respect that PD are trying to foster a respectful environment and I think people (including some in this thread) try to play against that simply for self-satisfaction rather than mutual respect - which in my opinion - is the same mindset that rammers and cheaters have, and I think that is what tends to wind a lot of people up... just my two cents.

I normally drive very cleanly, however I take great pleasure in roughly throwing around drivers with offensive words on the bumper.

This topic is becoming a mess, but I did already reply to this assertion;

Maybe, but;

doesn't read as very sarcastic, despite the prior paragraph.

Which was the part of your post that I was replying too. Though I thought you where being flippant rather than sarcastic...

Because this paragraph wasn't sarcastic!

I was being sarcastic in the first paragraph, and the second paragraph of was how I actually felt.

Bottom line: I think it is silly to report a livery as offensive because it says "**** you". I think it's funny. As long as a livery does not contain something sexist, racist or what ever, then it is okay with me.
