guys i dont mean to sound like a wet blanket but a little respect wouldn't go amiss. now critisizing people because they race illegally on streets endangering the lives of innocent people is one thing but just because they are a ricer/sports car kinda guy? i admit your language wasn't ott cano but the reason we are in this forum is because we all love cars, in one form or another. whether you like classics or the latest 'creations' to come out of the renault/nissan factory im sure that none of us would not grin at the sight and/or sound of a beautiful engine rumbling along at medium-revs. whether it be chevy V8 or bmw straight 6 or ferrari flat 12.

here in europe we really dont hear anything about american cars, because we dont see the on the streets. no one imports them and no one buys them, so magazines focus mainly on ferraris and lambos and beemers and audis rather than chevys, chrystlers, us fords, cadillacs etc.

there's a great line in the initial d series for anyone who has seen it:

"anyone who likes cars can call themselves a street racer"

heh

yeah so thats my comment! :D

In reply to Streeracer780, Yes I do have some pictures of that MX3. But I'm pretty much computer ILLITERATE! Imust admit that I don't know how to post a picture with my replies. Sorry, I know "Duhhh to me" AGAIN!!
If anyone would like to tell me how to do it I'd be glad to post pics of that car & MANY OTHERS. I'll show you some of my work (on my cars and on my friends cars).

Hmm I love cars and I like street racing. But still its hard to classify car lovers as street racers.

I'm all for races at traffic lights but I havent personally attended a "street race" so I'm not making any comments on that. I think If I were going to race I would want to do something like the Gumball 3000 that looks like so much fun!

My opinion of street racing is as follows.

The earliest form of car racing was street racing, and developed into the great city to city races in continental Europe at the end of the 19th century.

It was quickly found that street races were dangerous, so circuit racing was created to reduce the danger to participants, and particularly to spectators and passers-by.

This was over 100 years ago. Not everyone is very fast to learn, however.

WasteGate ducks, taking cover from the oncoming flaming...

I did some research (loads Flamethrower).

First off, circuits were made so there would be a better place to race, not because it was safer. Since it would always be there, people always knew where to go to see their hero's race around the track. Plus, there werent many street races back then as there werent many paved roads...

About rice, my opinion seems to be like many here. If they like it, and they have the money for it, so be it. There seems to be a lot of people saying how its unsightly and a waste of money, and they only buy it because they watch the F&F and think it will make there car faster, but I disagree. If somebody puts a body kit on there Integra I'd bet it would be because they think it looks good. It may or may not actually look better, but making your car look better is not necessarily making your car look faster. I like the Altezza style lights and body kits on some cars; it wont make them go any faster but it looks cool. If it's just meant to look cool, which I would bet a lot of the exterior parts are for, then go for it. I'm not saying that that is everybody but it is for people I know anyway. It's their car and something they can mess with and personalize.

With the whole NOS thing, that probably is just people who watched the F&F and think that Nitrous oxide is the best thing in the world and help them win any race. But damn, I bet that movie sure helped NOS out a lot, huh?

well come to think of it my Blazer has a body kit and I can't think of a need for it other then to make it look lower.

ALOT of rice out there are just Econo boxes, so in turn, they are boring. I like all cars. If its good rice I like it, if its bad rice that isnt actually fast and are trying to pretend they are and then try to race a reak car like a vette. When I say that I mean cars from any country. Foci (plural word for Ford Focus) for example...
