Edit: The car that you drift don't make you more or less skilled. You can drift pretty much almost any vehicle in GT5, even a damn Prius.

I think MR cars are pretty rare compared to FR cars on online drift lobby, at least that's how I see it, also not many drift Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mclaren, etc.

I'm not afraid to bet my account that none of you can pull off decent tandems in those cars though, which is the point of drifting. It doesn't take real skill to drift a harder car to drift, it takes a decent setup and a clear road, and nobody around you that tries to tandem with you.

Honestly, I drift offline, alone and I'm sure I'll suck at tandems if I ever try. Besides, my internet connection would make it a pain in the ass for anyone to tandem with. The point for me to drifting is to slide my car sideways and create huge piles of smoke in my path. Being able to control your car on the edge of losing control is satisfying. Plain and simple.
Now, I drift the Red Bull Nascar because I don't know how to appreciate the sport of driving around in circles, but the car seems to be pretty good for drifting considering the monstrous torque it has.
And I'm sure people can tandem with ridiculous cars. Both drivers only have to use the same vehicle.

I'm torn on this one; I'm always down for unusual drift cars like the az-1 and volvo, and the like but Gonales has a point: the people that go into lobbies and block off the track and randomly run into people due to ill will, lack of control(or both) are the ones usually sporting these vehicles...I drift a BTR; amongst real world enthusiasts id imagine its pretty rare, but I can keep up with or lead other cars with appropriate angle...tune that Samba, Schwimmvagen, or odyssey as much as you want; in a lobby with decent drifters you are sure to block others progress or ram into them as they try to progress. I guess what id like to see is a team that specializes in these cars, that competes on sort of an MSC or D1SL level...an all az-1 or cappucino etc...in which all the competitors would be evenly matched, maybe then threads like this wouldn't inflame such a reaction amongst those that have been burned by these perpetrators' doppelgangers online.

Finally a drifter with sense, thanks for the support seeing you're the only one. Couldn't be more right.
I drift unusual cars myself as well, Ferrari's etc... But when I want to tandem I always switch, simple.

So then why are you trolling a thread made for people to showcase their unusual drift cars, not a thread made for arguing what drifting is about? Post some pics of your cars instead of treading all over this thread forcing your (off topic) personal views.

At this point, I need to draw the line, I love all pictures posted here, and it's a game, so let people do whatever they want. I hate to sound rude here but really, is it really that hard to stay out of something you don't find interesting, all I wanted to see was the way people have interestingly customized their drift cars, but instead I get a long stupid and all around ridiculous argument that's totally off topic and unnecessary if people would just keep some damn things to themselves.

Here is the way I see and most of GTP at least most people in teams. Some ridiculous cars would be Ferrari, Lamborghini (RWD), TVR, and most other exotic cars. I have messed around with the classic bettle, the Bus and even a capachino. I think anything beyond that to most teams is just overkill. Like that Prius RM, that was just mega troll to the drifters. It's FWD and it's a hybrid, which is really crazy. So see you can have some ridiculous cars without going overkill. I'm all for this thread, so don't give up just yet and see what the community has.

I'm not part of a team and don't desire to become part of one. But what I'm saying is 4WD or FR as a drift is ridiculous but the technicality of all of it is overkill, I have my technical V12 Vantage and Skyline that I use a legit drift cars, but I've completed A and B spec events so all I do is the B Spec 3 on seasonal to earn money (quite good at it as well), so I just create totally off-the-wall vehicles and play online with friend showing off my ridiculous creations as well as my technical cars in need of tweaking. It is a was of seeing how for you can stretch reality. I'm currently working on a BMW 120d in a awkward color scheme and a "classic" 1958 Subaru 360 in a Subaru rally paint job minus the decals, I'm pushing it as far as possible and in a few days or so make sure to check out my flickr and give me some feedback on how the Subaru and BMW are along with my friends and my wheelie Lotus (none of these are online yet), but I do have some legit rally and drift along with my advanced ridiculousness.

Worst statement ever, as a matter of fact.
Promoting people to only limit the car selection they should use to drift.
Promoting your opinion on what drifting should be, for tandems - NO execptions.
Promoting the fact that more cars that match, the better the tandems should be (yes, you can restrict power, or have a 1 make of autozam az1's drifting for example so those drifting unconventional cars will have no problem drifting together).
Falsely generalizing that people whom use these cars cannot tandem with anyone, which somehow means they are ego tripping. (no, if you knew what ego tripping was - you would know that it's what you are doing. Applying your values as if they superceded everyone'e else)
I'll tell you what a good opinion is and this itself is OBJECTIVE and this would be agreed upon all academia, it's an argument made that has good facts and rationale behind it. Your argument contains none thus its a bad argument or rather how you would say it, a "bad opinion".
So go beyond telling yourself that people don't agree with your opinion because they don't know any better, by asking yourself why they are disagreeing with your points and you'll find the errors in the way you make your point.
Whether or not those that come to team rooms and drift unconventional cars ruin tandems is NOT the point of this thread. The thread was to take pictures of drifting unconventional cars for a prize. So make a thread on your own by generalizing all bad drifters that use unconventional cars, and see what you'll get in response if this is your main point.

I agree with what most of what you are saying. I do. But honestly you see the video of that GT Citroen Road car i had? If you had I made it with a great tune. Ask a lot of people that you know about what i could do with the car (as in people I guess you could say pros on here) it was amazing. I had amazing tandems and i almost never hit anyone unless I really messed up for time to time. Which is normal you know hahaha. One thing I must say is that it is about style because my moddo/style on how I love and take drifting is "drifting is art. I paint smooth". It is all about style and the art of the drift. I drifted it about a year ago (before i converted from the DS3 to the wheel). Now I drift a 300zx that i love dearly. But like you said you have to know your car to drift great with a smooth style. You will be surprised on how some people can drift some amazing cars and be as good as the other person.
I don't know how you feel about different drive-trains that are not FR. I love any drive-train besides AWD. They all have their flaws. But i go by D1GP rules so i run any of those three drive-trains because they are all allowed. Even though I know in D1GP even FF is allowed but i don't quite get it. I call it e-braking but it look cool (different style).
