Bodykits for the Eclipse Ridox Supra is still available on sale from Varis Japan. The power figure has been mentioned in 2 different figure, 550PS and 600HP from different Hot Version videos. I have included the 550PS spec as base and optional calculated 550PS as wheel power, and 616HP/625PS as engine power - counting drivetrain loss. Weight distribution used real life figure on mild modified and stock Supra TT at 53/47. The added turbo kit and roll cage should even out the added weight and weight savings to reach 1500kg.

Suspension uses RS-R I-Shock Damper with Ti2000 16k/14k springs. I have tuned the damper to be soft but also firm on high speed cornering. The camber and ARB are available in 2 sets, feel free to try them and mix them if you wish. Gear ratio for the V161 Getrag 6 Speed MT ( 97-02 Supra Turbo ) is correct and needs no correction.

LSD is RSR, this time I set it on 2 way to give even balance when off and on throttle. The Ridox Supra should be good for winding road and high speed track. The tire has been listed as Advan AD07 / AD08 for street and touge ( Comfort Soft ), while on track the Ridox Supra uses Advan A048 S tire ( Sports Hard ) I tuned and tested the Ridox Supra at Midfield, Tsukuba, Big Willow and Fuji.

Having had trouble getting the right power,now's the time for a little review.:-)

The supra's behaviour is quite similar to the lp-700 .With CS tyres put on,it just slides over and over...Seeing this you may think it's just tuning the bull with lower output,in fact there are more.B-)

This 625ps beast is surprisingly much more controllable than you would think.Given to the close-to-perfect 53:47 weight distribution,the car has merely tiny bit of oversteer when lifting off the throttle.Although it is not a perfectly neutral one like the Z06(yeah,it's just that I don't have much other than what others have said),it is quite driver-friendly,until you unleash its power.Every time you go full throttle below 120km/h,you are mostly guaranteed to taste some oversteer.It is triggered once you're between 2nd and 3rd gear.That speed on the straight makes it very tempting to put in power asap,and it doesn't have AWD system like lambo,so that really takes some time to get used to it.And the learning process can give quite of a frustration.

Overall,it has some pros and cons.If you ask I recommend it or not,certainly YES!!!Cuz it has an awesome look which can make you overlook all the hardship;-)lol.That aside,the car can teach you how to drive car,to rely on skills rather than taking advantage of the tendency of the car.Something can be learnt everytime you get in it.

That's all my experience after driving it for a moment with 625ps and CS tyres.Hopefully you guys enjoyed it somehow.:-P

Vspec II production number at 1,303 cars. The Vspec II has numerous mechanical changes compared to the stock R32. With 17in BBS wheels specially made for the car, wider 245 sticky tires, in addition to the 1st version of Vspec which include Brembo brakes, ATTESA-ETS PRO, Active LSD at the rear, lower suspension and stiffer damper tune. There has been reports of higher engine torque output.

The Vspec suspension spring rates of the real car 2.4kg/mm front and 2.7kg/mm rear. These values are too low in GT6, so I used the lowest at the front possible, and use the ratio to set the rear rate. The rate used are 3.83 / 4.31, with the damper tuned to provide fast response and good rotation on exit. The alternate damper is included with has softer rear damper to give different handling. Camber and toe also available in 2 set, one is the base and higher camber/toe is optional.

The car weight is 1500kg, with weight distribution using real life corner weights of Vspec II, at 59.4/40.6, this is the closest in GT6 can get with weight reduction stage 2 and 195kg ballast the front end. This should give the mild understeer traits of the real car and oversteer when pushed hard. Most R32 GTR has closer to 60/40 distribution, with R33 and R34 improving with less heavier front.

LSD is set in 2 way this time, with setup giving good amount of lock and low preload. An alternate LSD with 1.5 way arrangement also provided.

Tire base set is rear comfort medium and front comfort soft, while all around comfort soft is optional. I intentionally set the rear with comfort medium to give distinct handling characteristics of the real car, with oversteer tendency on the limit due to the different ATTESA-ETS PRO programming in the Vspec.

The R32 was mainly tested and tuned at Tsukuba and Apricot Hill. The real life record at Tsukuba was done in 1994, driven by Keiichi Tsuchiya, the R32 GTR Vspec II was capable of 1:06.77 lap time. The replica with High Camber suspension and 2 way LSD is capable of low 1:06s on CM/CS tire. While at Apricot Hill on Street Camber and 2 way LSD, CM/CS tire, 1:38s. Both replay has been included.


UPDATE : New Damper and stock LSD added as base, old damper still available as option.

UPDATE August 2016 : New Damper have been updated, the original new damper still available as option. The update was tested at Motegi East race intermediate seasonal.
Added additional specs with Dyno Power of stock R32 GTR with some miles ( about 50k km ), 320HP at flywheel using intake tuning.

No one has a favorite F40 setup they'd like to share with lil ole ALB? :( I'll try to get that Skyline GT-R built tonight. Hopefully I will have time...

This is a fun car! It's not too fast, but it's absolutely no slouch either. I just had a very fun time testing it out at Ascari Race Resort and Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit. I went with the staggered tire setup of CS compound in the front and CM compound in the rear. Ridox provided two different camber setups. At first, I was not enjoying the higher camber setup at all. I changed my driving style a little bit on the corners and actually ended up setting the fastest lap of my Brands Hatch session with the higher camber setup. Still, I think I will leave the car on the base camber setup for the most part. They're on two different tabs.

The car accelerates very well and holds tight around higher speed turns. The Skyline GT-R's sure were impressive cars back in the day! Heck, they're still impressing me now. The transmission is definitely setup for more highway / high-speed tracks. At Brands Hatch I was mostly in 2nd & 3rd gears - only occasionally finding 4th gear. 5th was never a consideration. That shouldn't matter, considering the PP class you'd be racing this car in.

Brakes felt very good even though she's a tad on the hefty side at 1500kg. On the two tracks I ran, I never found myself in a situation where I had to put my foot to the floor. These disc brakes bite firm and slow the Skyline down promptly! 👍

Do you use MT or AT? The reason I ask is because, the RB26 engine in the R32 & R33 GT-Rs was never happy revving all the way to the redline & if you're a AT user you have no choice in the matter :irked:
If, on the other hand, you're like me & like choosing what gear when, my advice is to shift gears at 6800 - 7000rpm for the best results ;) 👍

Oh, I have always used MT since my first day of playing GT6. I need that extra level of control that using a manual transmission provides. It blows my mind how good WhoosierGirl is, considering she uses AT 99% of the time. Her times would be even lower if she was completely comfortable with an MT, I'm sure of it.

Back to the Skyline GT-R... Thank you for pointing that out!! I meant to comment on what I felt was a very strange phenomenon - after 2nd gear this car just does not want to climb to the red line. Ridox's spec sheet does point out that maximum power is achieved at 6800 rpm, like you also pointed out. I agree with you 100%, once that tachometer needle hits 7 - you must shift. While I'm no stranger to automobiles that produce peak power well before their red line, what does come across as strange, with this particular car, is how the visual power curve provided to us in Car Settings shows a very smooth, gradual decline of HP once you hit the peak of 306hp, yet the car FEELS like there is just nothing left to give once you've passed 7000 rpm! It FEELS like power is nil at that point.

Its a very good thing that you pointed this out @Pete05 because some people like to wait until they see the little red shift light start blinking out of their peripheral vision. I've been known to rely on that blinking light myself, from time to time. 👍 :cheers:

Glad you had fun :D Be sure to drive it at Apricot Hill, I had so much fun as I tried to beat Audi TT-RS lap time there, which has similar weight but higher power.

For R32 shift point, I usually push it to redline for 1st and 2nd ( 120kmh/74mph ), then on 3rd short shift it at 160+kmh/100mph and 4th at 190+kmh/119mph ( about 7K rpm ).

Did you drive with 2 way LSD ?

While I'm no stranger to automobiles that produce peak power well before their red line, what does come across as strange, with this particular car, is how the visual power curve provided to us in Car Settings shows a very smooth, gradual decline of HP once you hit the peak of 306hp, yet the car FEELS like there is just nothing left to give once you've passed 7000 rpm! It FEELS like power is nil at that point.

Its a very good thing that you pointed this out @Pete05 because some people like to wait until they see the little red shift light start blinking out of their peripheral vision. I've been known to rely on that blinking light myself, from time to time. 👍 :cheers:
I think the sensation you're feeling after 7000rpm is the absence of torque. A lot of people get wrapped up in BHP figures & never give any consideration to the grunt available from using torque.
The way the power curve or torque curve or both drop away in some cars is an important factor to consider when trying to wring the most out of a given car.
AT users don't have a say in the matter and are restricted to changing up at the redline & I think there's a solution to that problem.
If PD would allow those that use AT to choose/type in a shift point, say 6800rpm in the GT-R mentioned, they wouldn't be at any handicap to a MT user.
I have a brother who gets his fingers tangled if he tries to use MT and, as a result, insists on AT. In some cars at certain tracks, he's a lot closer to my times than in & at others. If we're both driving a car that needs to go to the redline, that's when we're at our most competitive with each other. If the vehicle of choice suffers asthma from the peak BHP to the redline, he's handicapped by the AT & can't get near me. The BMW 120d is a perfect example.

That could be interesting with that lively rear-end... :D I'll have to try and remember to give that setting some track time. Which do you prefer?

I prefer the 2 way :) it still allows aggressive entry braking while the rear can stay stable. The 2 way works well with the alternate damper ( rear comp 2 ext 5 ). The 1.5 way has more rotation / turn in, but depending on the driver whichever his preference is.

Ugh...I'm so upset. I decided to buy a third F40 and organize the setups of the cars. One car would be only US spec setups on the three tabs. The other two cars will be EU spec with various setups among the 6 available tabs (3 each car). Unfortunately, I forgot to write down the LSD settings that I preferred the most. I spent a few days testing the different LSD options available for that car. I even plan on using different LSD settings on a couple of tabs, but I need to start re-testing all of them to figure out which was my favorite setup. Hopefully I get lucky and remember it on my 2nd test...LOL!! Do you have a favorite setup for the Ferrari F40, @Ridox2JZGTE? Nobody else responded to my query. :( I suppose the car isn't as popular as I thought it would be... :grumpy:

Here is a lap at Red Bull Ring with the Ferrari F40 replica ( 471 HP Auto Motorsport Mag version ), the time is not bad at 1:43s on comfort soft tire, a very enjoyable drive :P Not as quick as the Gallardo SL, but still respectable pace considering the technological and time gap, a timeless classic, F40 :cool: The lap would be great for taking pics or just viewing pleasure.

4 hours. That's what I've just spent running my various Ferrari F40 builds and my Ferrari 599XX Evoluzione around the Nordschleife. My tshirt is soaked in sweat! :lol: I don't know how, but I ran into an old conversation here in the Garage where you gave a visitor instructions on how to soften the 599XX for the Nordschleife. Oh man, it runs 100% better with the softer springs and dampers. This track is just too bumpy for a rigid track setup.

It's a good thing I did because I also saw your Ferrari F430 Scuderia build. I don't know how, but I've never seen that setup here before. :eek: My eyes must be going in my advanced age! :lol: :crazy: Guess what I'll be building next? :D

The SRT Viper 2014 replicas in this build comprises of 3 model line up, the Base SRT Viper, SRT Viper GTS and SRT Viper TA. All of the version are built using official SRT Viper documentation.
The weight of the Base and GTS Viper uses curb weight when fitted with Sidewinder II Lightweight Wheels and Viper TA has the wheels as standard fitment. Distribution are the same on all 3 at 49.6/50.4 ( approximately replicated via ballast position )

The suspension spring rates of the real cars are ( lb/in ):
Base Viper : 200/500
GTS : 220/550
TA : 240/600

These are not possible in GT6, the value can't get low enough. So I set the lowest front for Base, and use the spring ratio of 2.5 for the rear rate. The GTS and TA has 10% and 20% higher front rate just like IRL.
The damper is tuned to give balance of handling with the stiff springs and high ratio. ARB also reflecting the real life spec with higher stiffness for the TA.

Camber and toe alignment uses official SRT Viper Spec for all 3 models ( with Base and GTS sharing same alignment ) Ride height uses official ground clearance data at 127mm ( visually matched as well to the real car )

LSD is 1 way to replicate GKN ViscoLok, the lock action is smoother and should give plenty traction even on high speed cornering.

Gear ratios are correct this time and no changes made. Flat floor is at drivers discretion, its up to you to install flat floor or not, the added aero may require stiffer damper and may also add understeer, but should give more realistic acceleration at high speed.

The Base and GTS model are fitted with Pirelli P Zero tires ( Comfort Soft ), while the TA Special Package has Pirelli P Zero Corsa from factory ( Sports Hard ) Although the TA recommended tire is SH, it still handles well on CS tire, and SH has a bit too much lateral grip, somewhere between CS and SH is preferable. When tested and tuned, the TA was fitted with comfort soft tires, at Tsukuba, Apricot Hill and Big Willow. The TA on CS capable of 1:01s lap at Tsukuba :eek:, 1:24s at Big Willow :eek:, and 1:32s at Apricot Hill. All of the run are provided as replays.

So many options for one car :lol: :D I have posted the SRT Viper ( 3 model line up, Base, GTS, TA ), the car is quite a nice drive, with performance comparable to the Stingray Z06.
 
Wow! I just saw the new Viper builds!!! 👍 I'm so shocked... The T/A package is the same HP/Torque as the base model? Yet it's heavier?! I never knew that... Damn...

Yep, TA Special Edition Package has same engine as Base and GTS, the changes are more on suspension ( springs, damper, and sway bars ), chassis ( lighter X Brace ), and tires ( sticky Corsa - similar to Michelin Pilot Cup ) I used same damper setup on all model line up as they do the job well :P
The 2015 SRT Viper has 645HP, just 5HP increase.

This Ferrari F430 Scuderia is built with the main goal to replicate real life lap record at Spa, 2:40.00

As stock suspension spring rate is not achievable, the rear can't go low enough, I opted to use 2 different spring set for this replica. I have also replicated the correct weight figure from corner weight ( with some fuel ) result in real life, as well as weight distribution.

There are 2 sets of suspension setup, one is mainly aimed at street use with softer springs from AFCO and the other is aimed at track racing with Swift Hypercoils at close to double the rate of the original Scuderia Gen II OEM Springs. A track oriented alignment has also been used ( camber and toe ).

Ride height has also been replicated, real life F430 Scuderia stock height has a high rake at close to 22mm difference ( higher rear ). For this replica I decided to use smaller amount of rake highly recommended at Ferrari owner forum - 12mm, this is a good balance for track driving and street in real life - slightly tighter with less rake.
The effect is opposite in GT6, another PD blunder :lol:. To compensate for the ride height and camber used, I have tuned the damper for more neutral balance and to allow the driver to throttle steer even when at the apex, modulate the throttle to steer the nose. Due to the high degree of camber, the Ferrari needs smooth steering to avoid sudden loss of grip at either end when on comfort tires.

LSD uses 2 way to simulate E Diff with moderate locking rate and medium preload.

The F430 Scuderia can replicate the Spa lap time on comfort soft tire. I managed 2:39s in 1st lap :) The balance is very good and fun to drive, especially at Eau Rouge :D

UPDATE : Added new suspension setup, factory alignment + ride height and medium camber for street and track.

1.09+ : Updated ride height due to range limit changes by PD, updated weight distribution based on real car corner weight and corrected toe value at per side.

Added alternate spec with full fuel tank.


Ridox, you have really outdone yourself with this Ferrari F430 Scuderia!! I've only driven a handful of laps at Spa - I'm trying different suspension & alignment settings - but this thing is one of the smoothest cars I've ever driven in GT6! I've run the car on CS tires with Factory Ride Height settings, I've driven it with a medium ride height. I've driven it with the Track Spec suspension setup (Medium Camber) on SH tires - this was by far my favorite setup. The turn in is unreal. Grip is magnificent. I'm still messing around with the brakes, but they're already good at 5/6 - I have a feeling 6/7 will be amazing! Bravo!! 👍 It's so civilized compared to the F40 that I just drove for hours.. :lol: The F430 Scuderia is one of my favorite cars in the world, in real life... Finally I have a tune that makes me appreciate the digital version just as much. :D

You are welcome :) Did you try to beat the real life lap record at Spa ?, The F430 is a great car, but I still want the F355 ( including the Challenge version ), that would make me really happy as I used to drive it in Sega F355 Challenge arcade cab :P
 
Yes. I tied the record on my CS tires, though I didn't use the track spec setup with CS tires. With the track setup and SH tires I beat the real life record by a few seconds, no problem. I could have pushed even a little harder with all 3 setups. I just took it around Nordschleife for 2 laps with the track spec suspension and SH tires -- the car drove a lot better than I was expecting, with those firm springs. I'll try again in the morning with the street setup... Wow! What a 🤬 fantastic drivers car!! :bowdown: :D :cheers:
