D1 GP Silvia IRL, ran a Time Attack to prove that a D1 GP car can still be a track machine just as good as drift machine, it laps Tsukuba in 58s :)

I managed to sneak in a "short" couple of runs on La Sierra and Tsukuba with the Miura and SV. Not quite up to pace on Tsukuba with either of them :( But I did have some good fun running about a second or so behind where your ghost would be 👍 And a real pleasure cruise round the lake :D The only bad thing is, now I only have one setting page left to play with on a 15mil car :lol:

Oh, almost forgot to say :dopey: I did have the reinforced chassis already installed, so if anyone is wondering if it'll still work out with that installed, that's a big 👍

You were right TC. I wasn't disappointed at all. She's a Bella automobile.
I can't remember the last time I used CH or CM tyres so instead of going for a lap or two of La Sierra, I had a few tablespoons of concrete, hardened up & turned up at the holy grail of all racetracks, The Nordschleife.
After a slow exploratory lap finding what the tyres liked, I dropped the hammer but that didn't turn out so well. I had a great lap going until I started climbing out of Bergwerk when she got away from me do it was back to the drawing board with a little more respect for take two.
A few lurid slides & one almighty save under the bridge on the run home & I ended up at 7:54 plus change. Not bad for CM tyres at all. If you stitched it all together like a robot, you'd see under 7:50 for sure. A job well done Ridox :) 👍

:embarrassed::bowdown: Thank you for the kind words and giving time to drive the Miura. A sub 8 minutes is amazing time for a vintage car at Nordschleife.

I waited for so long to drive a Ridox Replica Lamborghini Miura - there is no way that I could let that car slip past me, even if I've given up on GT6, for the most part.

It's funny... In GT6 the Miura is an absolute animal. It has insane levels of grip and massive amounts of power. The car is not like that, at all, in Assetto Corsa. It's got a fair bit of power, but nothing that would blow you away. Grip level is so-so because Kunos only provided "vintage" Pirelli Cinturato tires. These big, balloon-like tires come standard with very high pressure levels: 38 psi in Front / 41 psi in Rear... I've been thinking of experimenting with dropping the pressure some. Brakes are what you'd expect from a 1960's supercar. They're not as good as modern day brakes, but they do the job.

Look at that gorgeous creature. One of the sexiest cars of all-time, in my opinion.

If only GT6 has properly working aero drag :( Even on CH I feel the lateral grip is a bit too high, but acceleration for 0-60 mph and quarter mile seems okay compared to the real car. Above that the Miura is way too fast in GT6 :lol:

I'm testing the Need For Speed Shelby Mustang with 900HP, it's my own version of what if I build the movie car :P It has Eibach springs and uses data from Super Snake :P It did 1:35s at Apricot Hill on CS with that insane 900HP, 1700+kg and 57/43.

900 HP?! :eek: That's gotta be an awesome ride...

Assetto Corsa just released Dream Pack 3. One of the cars is the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. They did a really good job with it, in my opinion. It drives well, but it has flaws - just like the real world car does. In addition to the Superleggera, Kunos included a Stage 3 Gallardo which is basically a knockoff of the UGR Twin Turbo 1200 HP monster! I'm sure you've seen videos of that beast floating around on YouTube. This thing is insane. When those turbos kick in you're just hanging on for dear life. :lol:

Personally, I won't be driving that 1200hp Gallardo much, but it will probably make for some interesting track day events on public servers. :D

Turn you volume down a bit because this video contains a lot of wind noise (cameras held outside passenger windows). Check out how fast this car pulls away, on the highway, when driving side-by-side with the people filming. It almost looks like those older movies where they'd just speed up the film - it's THAT fast.

 
Reminds me of my old GT5 hybrids replica :) The Gallardo 1200HP, I have made that back in GT5 days too :) One of the best was Saleen S7 AWD Twin Turbo with 2800+HP ( it exists in real ) :D or the AMS Alpha Omega GTR.

These cars should be drivable even in real life, just needs bigger balls and very skilled driver.

Love the 'excellent' stamp for the Manji drift. It reminded me of the stamps and scratch'n'sniff stickers from the school days.

Try the lower tyre pressures but you might find it makes the car sloppier by allowing the sidewalls of those old tyres to move around a lot more.
If the AC physics model is true to the real world, adjust by 1 psi at a time. It doesn't take a lot of change to start feeling the difference coming through the seat of your pants, even at cruising speed. That amplifies quickly as you start to add enthusiasm to your driving.

If this is true, looks like Pcars and AC had their own set of problems with camber. The 7.0 Pcars camber fix also seems to be halfway job ( increasing top speed when using camber vs no camber, it's close now ). AC camber issue revolves around tire temp differences on inside to outside vs amount of camber.

From the article comments :

"OK 1.4 update, only quick try, 3 times Gt3 mp4 10 laps nords sprint, good news is the overall temps are far closer to reality, ending stint at 60 degrees average up front,this is mentioned in patch list (fixed GT2-gt3 temps) far closer but still a little low IMO, as was deliberately driving hard and leaning heavily on outside tyre.

However the difference across tyre is still at 2-3 degrees odd, ok ok you say so what thats not too far at all from ideal right, well crank camber to max -5.0, annnnd, exact same end temps AND exact same difference between I\M\O as default camber, crank other way to zero same difference and same temp, despite MASSIVE camber changes.

I also looked at available tele channels in AC ini files, and it has no I\M\O readings output, indeed there is only a average tyre temp.

So IMO it appears these I\M\O temp diffs are simply the average divided by 3, highly canned in other words, so basically you cant rely on I\m\o to do any setup work period, despite doing on many other sims, although tbh your average AC player it appears to not matter, Stefano was right about his customers, dont bother responding picking my **** apart do you own tests and show me instead if want to disprove.

The person who runs that blog definitely has an axe to grind with Assetto Corsa developers. All he seems to do is talk trash about Assetto Corsa - going back much further than my time playing the game. Having said that, there definitely are some issues with some cars tires in Assetto Corsa. Right now, the best tires in the game are called "Version 6 Tires". Only about a dozen cars, or so, are using Version 6 tires right now. Others are on Version 5 tires while some are still on Version 4.

Kunos definitely needs to fix this and get all cars on Version 6. However, the author of the blog is still completely wrong. If you turn on Tire Wear and Mechanical Damage, you will get tire blistering and/or tire graining after several laps (less if you really drive the tires hard or spin out a lot...or do lots of burnouts, etc). You would think that you would just have to turn on Tire Wear, but you also need Mechanical Damage turned on in order to get the tire blistering and tire graining to work.

Tire Wear alone works on all versions of tires (Version 4, 5 or 6). After doing just a few laps at Spa, for instance, and my tires will probably be down to like 96% with Semislick tires on an F40 or McLaren MP4-12C, for instance. He claims there is no tire wear and that's plain wrong.

There IS, unfortunately, an issue with Camber according to most Assetto Corsa players. Unlike the camber issues in GT6, you will see the expected improvements in turn-in grip and mid-corner grip with increasing amounts of negative camber. For instance, lets say you are experiencing a little bit of plowing with front camber set to -0.6 degrees. If you increase it to -1.2 degrees (per tire), you should see improved grip. At the same time, you will experience a loss of straight line braking grip (slightly), depending on how much negative camber you've applied.

Where I've noticed a problem with the Camber is in temperature. I will agree with the author of that blog that temperature spreading across the tires doesn't work accurately on the lower version tires (Version 4 and perhaps even Version 5). Version 6, I believe, is handling this temperature issue much better. So, there really is no bad reason to max out the allowed negative camber setting on many cars. But on some cars that might only be like -2.0 degrees (per tire) of negative camber. It's not like GT6 where you can set -10.0 degrees per tire.

There are definitely things that need to be worked on, and they are, according to the devs. It's a small team over at Kunos. Personally, I think they've done an amazing job with the driving physics. Are things perfect? Absolutely not. I think brakes need to be worked on quite a bit, to make them more realistic, for instance. Multi-player racing still needs improvements in the collisions and how cars react afterward. Computer AI still needs quite a bit of work, though it is much better than what I used to deal with in GT6, in my opinion.
 
And the best thing, in my opinion, about Assetto Corsa is the modding capabilities. Someone made the famous Mazda 787B and then someone else who loved the car thought they could improve the sounds of the car, so they made a sound mod for a car mod. I just think that's wonderful about the Assetto Corsa community. Like I've said to you before Ridox, I think you, of all people, would have an absolute blast working on your own cars - tweaking the physics and power, brakes, etc...til you're satisfied.

 
Hi, I have a request for replicating a '79-'84 Porsche 911 SC. That, or some input on my current tune in GT6:

DeLorean '04
Detuned to 177HP
Racing hard suspension
Double plate clutch
CH tires (front & rear)
Weight reduction level 1
Window weight reduction
Added 3kg to get weight to 1160kg
No other modifications

The hard suspension seems to help, but I think the DeLorean's longer wheelbase needs some work. I tried to mod the RUF RGT '00, but it's not possible to get the HP below 189HP and the 6-speed transmission isn't right. The next closest eligible car would be the BTR, but the turbocharged engine doesn't work either.

If you have insight on the best way to recreate this car it would appreciated.
