Anybody have any info on the amount of rims we can put on cars?
I mean we could only put from 5 - 15 different rims on out cars, that's ridiculous, I understand at around 50 then that's okay, I mean some of the rims don't even fit any car at all, or even if they do, you can't select them with the car because it has different ones available. Seriously PD we need a real selection of rims.

They haven't show that many rims but this already looks good as a start.

All visual parts are supposed to count over 1000 in total.

Can't tell how many of those 1000+ will be rims though.

EDIT: Or maybe Kaz was talking about having hundreds of custom parts...
I'm not 100% sure.

Thousands are technically possible but I'm guessing it'll end up around 20x20:sly:

Yup, I definitely read "thousands" in one of Kaz comments .. But lets say there going to be 50 wheels, ranging from 15" to 22" with width's 8" to 15" .. if we count the hights by 1 inch increments 15-22, and the widths by half inch increments 8-15, each wheel is going to have 128 different sizes. So 50 wheels have 6400 sizes = 6400 different wheels. Even if they were only 20 wheels we would have 2560 wheels. And thats not including body modifications.

You are very optimistic...lol.:sly:

I'm afraid you need to go lower in your wheel sizes...
I believe the Renault 5 Turbo had 14 inch wheels... And the old Mini was smaller that that (12?)

But your point is taken, we could have very little actual variation in styles of rims and have the sizes make it in the promised "thousands"...

First post here by the way.

Ok now, how about Forza rims counting all different sizes as you do with GT, can you do the math?

I don't know since I never played the game or have any info on it .. and as long as GT is here never will.

My numbers are just an example. Of course not all the heights will have all the widths and vice-verse. Also, there are smaller and narrower wheels, but like I said it's just an example.

For me different size of rims is not enough to consider them as different rims. If they are the same model, the are the same model even with different size. It's pretty much like when PD count the standard version and premium version of a car and say to the World "we have 1200 cars". LOL no you don't PD, you're just boasting numbers.

Cars with identical standard and premium versions were counted as one in GT5, and I haven't seen any evidence that they've changed this for GT6.

They do plenty of dodgy things to increase car count (Ford GT No Stripe, I'm looking at you!), but double counting standards and premiums isn't one of them.

Only God know how many Skylines, Miatas, Mitsubishi 3000 GT I found in the UCD..

And isn't the Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ’88 the same model as standard version?

Not really, because there are only 13 different wheels there, 3 of which are very identical. If you are showing off custom wheels, in a panel like this, and one wheel shows up on the same row 4 times, you have a content problem.

Would be nice if the wheels are updated with each car added to the game. The black wheels from each 15A car would be nice instead of buying/using up paint chips to colour them black.

They're obviously just showing that wheel size and width will be possible to change in GT6, which is a big sigh of relief for most people.

There were many cars that needed wider wheels for better offset, and some cars had stupidly smalls wheels like the 270r.

Well I was thinking of more manufacturer rims, so about 10 styles of BBS and 8 or 9 of Wolfrace or whatever. I want good rims that fit cars not rims that only 2 people will use.
Also I wanted to make a great Touring Car race with Ai but I can't because they pick random cars for themselves, It would be great if we could pick what cars we want them to use depending on our PP setting

Sort of, except that tyre width had no physical effect in GT5. I'm not holding my breath hoping that they've figured that one out for GT6.

The wheel selection in GT5 was lacking. Limited selection, and outdated wheel lineups means every car only has 2-3 options that actually suited it.

I'd like to see full product lines from Advan, AME, BBS, Enkei, Rays, SSR, Weds/WedsSport Work Wheels, etc. with selectable wheel width.

My list of rims that need to be in the game work.volk.gramlights.bbs.rays engineering.ssr.spoon. nismo. Brabus. Hammon.hre .drifts. rota.advan.
For now that's all I can think of.
Most of those company's would have no problem giving pd the rights to use these wheels. I have friend that works for ssr and he said that when pd was there modeling wheels for gt5 c they modeled more. Wheels that are actually in game
