Dodge Viper GT4 - Delta

It's been a while since I have made my last airline livery. Initially I wanted to search for some special liveries, but my search was stopped as I realized I wanted to make a Delta Air racecar since months. Guess the special livery has to wait a bit :D

I have choosen a DWG Viper for this livery, as it was sitting around useless. As the Dodge has a very unlucky placement of the number board, it needed a solution to fill the gap a normal sponsor could not fill up. Was quite happy after isolating the Delta logo and use it as a main design element. I reused the "Visit Miami " decal I have developed for the Fluorescence LEC as a secondary sponsor cause it seemed to be suitable to pair airline and tourism sponsorship. I also realised (within the limit of my colourblindness) that the Delta and Dodge red are nearly the same, so i could also make a nice integration of the manufactor logo on the hood/bonnet.

Toyota FT-1 GT3 - AXE

After working on the PS6 Hyundai, my interest gained for these colour shift paint chips. Out of curiousity I played with gradients and fine lines and was suprised how well it came out. Bonnet, mirrors and rearwing is carbon fiber wrapped.
The only sponsor I had in my head suitable for this paintjob was AXE. I still can't believe how crappy the new GT World Challenge number board is. I hope, that if we have a 2020 season maybe they rethink this design.

Another attempt on the masking technique, this time with a nice colourful pattern. Just like the Axe Toyota I had no idea what sponsor would be suitable with this design, but my wife came up later with the idea of a pencil manufactor for this. I was smart enough to accept that.

Bavaria Motorsport Team

Grüß Gott and Hello!

Before I start with the team presentation, may I please ask you to stand up for the national anthem?

Thank you maestro !

Ladies and gentleman!

With a brandnew signed manufactor contract from BMW I present you my racing team for the 2020 season. While BMW was not my first choice cause of my career experience and the slightly disadvantage in terms of the BoP, they "won" the bid for this years season. All cars are RWD, they do deliver their medium performance equal to all circuits in this game, they look good, the BMW AG is located in my backyard and hey - my PSN is Prinz von Bayern, what else am I supposed to drive?

I went with a two car team for GT3 and GT4. Inspiration came from the 1997 STW livery of the 320i, piloted by Prinz Luitpold "Poldi" von Bayern, something you may have already seen in this thread. Tried to modernize it with a colour shift paint chip, adjusted to the now matte white or blue "mask". Of course are all liveries fully Sport Mode compatible.

Link: https://www.gran-turismo.com/de/gts...lery/all/livery/1903931/1/6845555076634805760

The white car wears in both classes the number 44 while the blue one has the 88 in his number board. I also developed a BMW helvetica team name decal. Wings, roof and mirrors are matte black, wrapped with a carbon fiber decal. Wheels are painted in Y3 big flakes.

Link: https://www.gran-turismo.com/de/gts...lery/all/livery/1903931/1/5692630271345557504

The GT3 class cars got the same treatment. I avoided huge sponsor decals, as I wanted to transfer as neutral as possible the Bavarian theme. Hartge was choosen cause of some family relationship with them and a "new" team would not be able to handle the whole technical support a racecar needs.

Link: https://www.gran-turismo.com/de/gts...lery/all/livery/1903931/1/5269866952495464464

The difference except of the changed colours and number board is the charity partner on the c pillar, which changes from Safe the children on the blue one to Unicef on the white versions. The equipment decals on the white one are also in their original colour. The white 44 GT3 M6 has an added black decal on the sideskirt as it looked a bit too naked in pure white.

Link: https://www.gran-turismo.com/de/gts...lery/all/livery/1903931/1/5548505189340709904

So, may god be with us for this season! :D

Citroen GT4 Air France

I'm still discovering the possibilities of masking. What you will now see, is another example for my learning curve. Base colour is chrome blue, applied a white masking job and a red matte gradient over the base colour. I wanted to do a Air France livery since a few weeks, but inspiration didn't kiss me until now. Also noticed, that the GT4 version of the Citroen is much easier to work at than it's bigger GT3 sibling. Now I'm biting my ass that I didn't blown off the dust of it much earlier...
After doing the mask job, it was a easy way to proceed. Once again the wing is carbon fiber, this time I stuck with soly red equipmemt sponsors (a strange way to decide what will be the best for your racecar....). I hope there will be somekind of real life GT4 racing this year as I was getting a huge fan of it in 2019.. Till we see how the number board will look in this season, I went again with the 2019 season ones.

Porsche Cayman GT4 Löwenbräu V2

While making some new Daytona 1986 inspired Löwenbräu liveries I was not so happy anymore with the first version I have made of it a couple of months before. So I decided to give it a new try. Have made negative versions of the Löwenbräu logo and text to mask them with Y3 big flakes. I also switched the colours with the dark blue on the upper side and adding a second brighter blue on the bottom. Also added some new secondary sponsors and updated the equipment partners.

So this:

Has become this:

Porsche 991 RSR Bose

A discussion I have at home again and again is our audio set up. While my wife insists on new technology like Bose soundbars or Sonos, I'm a friend of good old analog equipment. Big speakers, receiver and subwoofer vs. High-Tech. Yet I have the saloon in my hands, but have already lost the kitchen and the master bedroom. But I'm a good husband and decided to make her a Bose Porsche anyway.

Base colour is again colour shift, aerodynamic parts of the 911 are carbon fiber. Yet this is my third livery with the new crappy GT World Challenge number board.

Corvette C7 GT3 Cohiba - LEC53

The forbidden sponsors - I checked with my livery multiple boxes. It's a Cuban tobacco company on a modern American race car.
Car is masked to let the Cohiba logo shine in Y3 Big flakes, the black white pattern was scanned directly from a Cohiba box.
Cause we have the C8 now for the 2020 season I let this Vette happen in 2019 with the fantastic Blancpain Endurance Series.

Edit: I withdrawn the Chevy from the competition as I overread it had to be sport mode compatible. Remember to think before you act!

NMPD Hellcat Trash Police Interceptor

Have not touched the safety cars for a long time, but I had a Dodge lying around screaming for a livery. As I wanted to do something unique. Had already some experience with the chalk fonts at the Big Bertha SLS and Bonsai Pocket Rocket and went on the Hellcat with a Graffiti font for a nice Ghetto look. Again the text decals are very easy to work on, as you can stretch them for a unique, handwritten look on each single one of them.
I painted the Dodge just like a normal police car, making the doors and a part of the hood white. Afterwards I started to apply a bunch of decals to make it look like it was uncarefully painted with a brush and heavy wet paint. The New Munich Police Department logo was scanned from a childrens drawing of a coat of arms and also aged.
With all the scratches all over the car this one went to about 360 decals.

Audi R8 Absolut & Nissan GT-R JPS Red - LEC53 Part II

I had to pull out the Cohiba Corvette because I had made to mistake to ignore the rule that the entry has to be Sport Mode compatible. This left me back struggeling to make a new one. I still couldn't decide what to do, so I came up with two cars.

The Nissan shall be a modern intepration of the JPS livery we loved to see at the Lotus F1 cars. JPS is one of my more prefered cigarette brands (I tend to change on every box, you would also not eat every day the same), most sold is the Red version of it. To make it more modern I made some abstract lines at the wheel arches, roof and lid. Car is masked in red, base colour is YGB colour shift.

Link: https://www.gran-turismo.com/de/gts...lery/all/livery/1903931/1/5701571503524413440

I finally choose the Audi to join the LEC. As it should race in the ADAC GT Masters I went more european and gave it some swedish design details. Somehow this is the first time I made a original livery for this championship. Base colour is a colour change paint chip for a shiny glass like optic.

Bonus Shots with the third Forbidden Sponsor car:

Audi TT GT4 Touring Car

I have to confess that this is my maybe unmotivated work I have done so far. Was simply in need for a TT for some lobby races and was in a hurry to make a livery. The problem with the whole LE thing is, once you have really started you will not drive anything in a default game livery. Suprisingly it got more likes then some of my other work which I really spend some time to make them.
Inspiration came from the classic Super Touring Car A4. Did some minimum weathering on the car. A big thank you goes to @Adam Barber for the Audi decals. In his thread he showcases you how to make a livery on this car really well

Hyundai Genesis GT3 Kenneth Noland Artcar

Did you know I'm interested in abstract art? I didn't know that, too. But that didn't stop me to learn about it, which is important if you are a smartass like me. So I can now pretend that I know Kenneth Noland and it's minimalistic abstract drawings. Still think that these pictures are somehow crap:

2012.90_ph_web-1.jpg

Birth (Yes, that's how I imagine birth, too. Who doesn't?)

large.jpg

Flush (1963! What a time to be alive.)

images.jpeg

Karma (Sure. As I saw it I said immediately "That's a Burrito". But I was wrong. Stupid me...)

Suprisingly I was really sober as I checked these drawings and I realized one thing: I may be much too stupid for this stuff, but I know this will make a excellent shape for a racecar livery!

So I used one of the Genesis GT3s I had lying around and went to work. To keep the idea alive I know what I do, I put these artworks in a Catawiki livery. The results are way better then I expected and it feels somewhat intellectual to drive around in this thing. i feeled to finalize my work with Kenneth Nolands signature I scanned from one of his drawings.

Long story short to sound like a intelligent person: Went with Nolands 2D artwork to the next level as it's static history has become mobile present. The shapes of a old drawing on the body of a GT car symbolizes to envolve and remember yesterdays art at the same moment. :D (I'm still sober!)

Renault Meganè Trophy Frank Stella Art Car

I made fun as I made the Kenneth Noland Genesis, but I think I have lost myself and start to enjoy this hard edge / minimalistic art thing. This time I had a look at the art of Frank Stella, which is automotive wise famous for his BMW Art car. @MatskiMonk made a beautiful transfer to the M6 at the Modern Throwback LEC:

20191104194447.jpg

Frank Stellas artwork, especially in his early years was very minimalistic, reduced in colours and shapes. I found two pieces of him which were interesting for another try with the Catawiki scheme:

Caviar20_Frank-Stella-Conspiracy-Angriff-1971_02_800x.jpg

Conspiracy - Angriff

Screenshot_20200425-005320.jpg

Unnamed

To make the lines work with the curves of the car and to catch viewers eye, I deleted the white lines and filled them up with a chrome paint chip. To keep the look I started with the Hyundai, only a part of the car shows the artwork while keeping enough neutral colour around it for the usual race car stuff. Used the base colour scheme at the front, mirror and the doors for a small chromeline highlight.

VW Beetle GT3 Duayne Hatchett Art Car

Did I made really fun with these pictures the artists have made in my Genesis post? Please forget about it, I'm too lazy to edit the post...

In this post we talk about the artwork of Duayne Hatchett:

13276472_master.jpg

This Beetle was my todays DWG and features a excellent shape on the sides and the lid. The bonnet is another story, but I am happy with the masking job which reminds a bit of the classic beetle design.

Again I gave myself a bit of creative freedom and deleted the thin lines in Hatchetts drawings to replace them with a chrome base paint masking job.

Mainsponsor this time is Singulart, a art trading company. Additionally I made a decal with the Think Blue slogan VW used some time ago. Also it may be possible that I pushed the colour scheme a bit towards TSV 1860, cause the Dark Blue - Light Blue contrast had invited me to do this.

Toyota Supra GT4 Gary Andrew Clarke Artcar

One or another may have already noted, that the art I currently stick on the cars is very simple, this is not happening without any reason. Cause of my technical deficit I am making all my svg files on my mobile devices, so Inkscape and some other great programs are not avaiable for me. All you see is scanned - directly from the original file and then converted via svgomg to be GT friendly. Unfortunately this is limiting the file size, so complex paintings and graphics are not possible for me. But at least the creative progress is truely from the original artwork, in a strange digital way. :D

I was never completly happy with the Supra livery I made 2 days after it was gifted to us:

8440314160161521664_0.jpg

I really want to like the car, but a subprime livery is holding me back of cars in my virtual garage.

So it got a new skin, this time with a relatively unknown artist - Gary Andrew Clarke, which is making interesting minimalistic art you can buy directly from him, I would say it is even reasonable priced and affordable. Thinking of adding maybe something from him in my house (what happened in this week to me and my understanding of art??). I have choosen three pictures:

GaryAndrewClarkePainting207.jpg
GaryAndrewClarkePainting318.jpg
GaryAndrewClarkePainting347.jpg

Gave myself again a bit of creative freedom and replaced colours with paint chips, so the car is completly masked. The upper two pictures got the bright blue colour deleted before being applied to the car, they are now with B6 Candy replaced. The bonnet graphic got the grey replaced with a aluminium grey paint chip.
As the artist is active, I have choosen him as the "main sponsor", link to his work and online store is also included in the livery. Catawiki has become a secondary sponsor, masking yellow is 15 / 100 / 100. Added some carbon parts to the car, car is running in the GT4 European Series.

Nissan GT-R '08 Group 2 Bavaria Motorsport

To have something suitable for the Group 2 Nations Cup Races, I made a livery. Following the formula I have set up with the Manufactor Cup liveries, we have again a matte maskjob over the BW colourchange paintchip. To be honest I had no idea which number board I could fit on it, so I decided to go the lazy standard way and went with the default ones.

Toyota Crown NEF BRK (Emergency Doctor/ Bavarian Red Cross)

Inspired by this:

NEF_BY_2013_5-1024.jpeg

I made a version of the Toyota Crown Safety car. Really like the shape of the Toyota, I already find the design of the grille attractive. The driving dynamics of it are suprisingly great, too. If you wonder what NEF BRK means: Notarzteinsatzfahrzeug Bayerisches Rotes Kreuz. :D

BMW Z4 GT3 Privatbrauerei Schweiger

There are still so many things on my to do list, I'm really grateful to @Maninashed that he helped me to tick this one off by helping me with the logo. The Privatbrauerei Schweiger is a brewerei out of my hometown Markt Schwaben, a small city about 15 minutes east of Munich.
While I also planned initially to make this my entry for the Forbidden Sponsors LEC, I was maybe to proud to ask for help. Finally I was pushed to make it happen by a request, as my Bavaria Motorsport BMWs seems to attract some local racing gentleman to my work.

I reused the basic body design I developed with the Bridgestone livery you find at page one of this thread. To make the golden logos happen, the car has a masking job with Y3 Gold chrome. Also added some small dark red decals, as an easteregg I replaced the Schweiger "Coat of Beers" at the backside with the BMW logo on the car. Some local secondary sponsors are completing the job.

BMW M6 GT3 Bavaria Motorsport #235

My Manufactor Cup livery for the BMWs seems to be a small regional success, quite happy that I was able to deliver something "patriotic" (which should be used carefully. Being a German patriot is very dangerous, you are immediately marked as something we have defeated 75 years ago. Bavarian patriotism is absolutley ok, cause you just drink peacefully beer, snooze Schnupftabak, wearing Lederhosen and disliking everything north of the Danube.)

Added a local brewery as sponsor and modernized the equipment decals. Also switched from Hartge to AC Schnitzer, additionally I made some small modifications to the overall design.

Mazda Roadster Touring Car - Bavaria Motorsport

Interesting combinatiion in the FIA Races - Sardagena with N100. Tried some cars, the GT86 GRMN is decent, the T1 Bus unusable (Suprise), the Dino is fun, Silvia to slow and the Stratos fast but you can't take with it the same line twice. Which left the Mazda TC as the only suitable car for me.

Followed the same formula I had already used on the other FIA cars I used this season.

Lamborghini Huracan GT4 Riva

Lets talk about boats. I bet that there is one thing nobody can deny: Riva boats are beautiful. If you have not yet searched for them today, take yoursellf two minutes and look at the pictures of them, you can thank me later :D

A piece of history is, that Ferruccio Lamborghini loved them, too. But he didn't wanted to have a V8 (is he stupid? What is better then a V8?). So Riva and Lamborghini cooperated and builded a one off 2x Lamborghini V12 powered Aquarama (What is better then V8? Two V12!).

Crank it up! Headphones strongley recommended:

You can read the whole history about this masterpiece here: https://www.rivalamborghini.com/

Lamborghini even offered their engines for offshore raceboats. What brings us now to the livery I created to bring these two brands together.

Based on the current models from Riva:

Riva-Aquariva-Super-Cruising-by-Poroli-Special-Boats_14.jpg

Livery features a complete masking job and "real" wood decals. Base colour is a colour change paint chip with chromed rear wing and half carbon / half chromed mirrors. On the roof, back and the lights we have dark red applications, the sideline under the Riva logo features a scanned mask of the side outlets of an Aquarama. I am so sorry that it is not possible to show you the car in motion as you will find all over the car chrome lines, handcrafted details and a suprisingly good looking wood look.

Edit: Spotted some issues and adjusted some small things:

- Base colour is now chrome
- Wheels are chrome, too
- At the front was a part unmasked
- Added Dark Red/Grey highlights at the front and the skirt
- Fixed an error with the roof decal
- Improved the wood design
- Added screws to the chrome parts

These both cars were in my head a entry for the Space Race LEC. Don't ask me what they could have been, at some point I decided that it will have nothing to do with the Competition and they became "normal" liveries.

The Audi features a colour shift paint, went with the classic logo position we loved in the 90s for some touring car vibes. Added some carbon fiber parts and a couple of @Adam Barber s great Audi and Vorsprung durch Technik decals.

Excuse me, but I have some problems with new technology. Today I got my new tablet and it has a pen. Now I can draw and write like on a piece of paper, but it needs electricity and costs a few hundred Deutsche Mark. What a stupid thing... and I love it! It was just a few clicks to bring my terrible handwriting to a Subaru. Nothing special on this livery, except it is completly handcrafted.

This one is based on multiple paintings of my wife I mixed together in a livery. And I love the result! Sure, by converting it into a svg file some details have got lost, but the result is great (In my eyes. It's my wife, I love her and the things she does automatically). Made only small changes to complete the livery job, please forgive me the too bright pictures.

My entry for the Space Race LEC. I couldn't decide if I shall make:

A Space Shuttle
New Horizons
Pluto

So I combined them in one car. The Bugatti is perfectly designed for this. If you check their design, it looks like the engine and passenger compartment is melted together.

The front half of the car features the legendary Space Shuttle Columbia. I gave it some weathering with about 90 individual decals to give it the look as it just had re entried the atmosphere.

On the back we have a masking job over a colour shift paint chip, featuring twinkling stars, i. E. Centauri. Also it transports a personal message to make Pluto a planet again.

To build a bridge between New Horizons spectacular Mission to Pluto and beyond, I have made a wrap job over gold and silver parts of the car, just like the foil they use on the probe for thermical reasons.

This entry sparkled joy to me, as it gave me some lessons about the maybe biggest adventure of manhood, something which could give us some light at the end of the corona tunel.

Peugeot RCZ Group 4 - Speedfight

The more you know... I already knowed, that Peugeot Motorcycle is not part of the PSA Group anymore, but I was thinking they own at least a minority in stakes. No, since a few years they belong to Mahindra. Things you learn, when making liveries.
The Speedfight is Peugeots most sporty scooter and I'm always impressed how well they zip away at traffic lights, even as a 50cc version.
Livery is pretty much freestyle, the main design is my own with standard GTS decals, 2nd and 3rd grade shapes are from pre-made decals.

(Livery is Sport Mode compatible)
