Excuses, excuses, I'm still clueless on drag tuning and I've been at it for 3 days! :D but my point is, get a move on on my 'vette, then do the Speed 12…

Here's a tip mate, take it or leave it.

I usually put the tranny a bit wide at 400 km/h or something top speed for the cars that usually go to 320-350 km/h. I move the first gear all the way to the left like in usual tranny tuning, the second to the left too (but sometimes I don't really put it as fully left), but here's the crucial part. Gears 3 and 4 will be somewhere at the middle and gear 5 should NOT be ratio'ed to the right since you're gonna need a crapload of speed for drafting. In short, gears 3-5 should be at the middle of some sort. But not all should be right in the middle. Just like tranny tuning for circuits, they need to follow the same pattern. So 3 a bit to the left, 4 in the middle, 5 a tad higher than 4. If the car has 6 or 7 gears, then the same pattern will work, but you have to space the gears to fit the number of gears.

Or you could just simply go bonkers and leave the final drive ratio to do the work

I'm only an amateur though, but I did it with my Shmo R33 hybrid tune and beat Onboy123 2-3 times in a row in SSR7. Now the secret's revealed, I hope that people would get better in Wangan tuning

And on another note, WHY RELEASE THE 458 AGES LATER?! I HAD A TUNED AND BLUE 458 A YEAR AGO WITH THE SAME PAINT JOB AND AERO KIT, BUT I SOLD IT BECAUSE OF HOW CRAP IT IS WHEN MODIFIED, NOW YOU GOT THE TUNE RELEASED WHEN I'M CONTEMPLATING ABOUT MY PRECIOUS FERRARI BEING SOLD AWAY :(

Or did it end up to you? If that's the case I'd be glad you're the one who bought it from me

Well it was late at night when we raced! I wasn't as bright as you to start with, was I?! So how could I have remembered the stages to tranny tuning for drag races! -.- :grumpy: and what you just did there was describe some stages of tuning for drag, I think…

Tuner Comments:
Jeremy Clarkson said that you’re not a true petrolhead until you’ve owned an Alfa of some kind. Most of us wont ever own an Alfa, but perhaps we can reach some kind of compromise if we tune one instead.

This 147 RS turns the normal 2.0 Twin Spark into a proper hot hatch. 230bhp, low weight, spoilers and many tweaks ensure that the Focus RS behind you will never, ever catch up.

I tested this one, first with stock weight but the rest all done. Good car, but the weight slowed it down too much. Now, stripped the weight and it is truly a Alfa 147 Cup Car with proper NA engine. It does show some mid corner understeer, that might use some work. But overall a very nice tune doing 1:01.753 @ Tsukuba.

Tuner Comments:
First there was the Emperor IV, now there’s this, the Emperor IX. Continuing the Emperor family tree, the IX boasts a large power boost over the IV, as well as added stability and refinement. The result? A much faster car that’ll happily turn at any speed thanks to the AYC.

You’ll probably have to adjust your driving style to fit the IX, just like the IV, although the IX will be easier to get used to than the IV.

Awesome tune, i used it with stock engine, stock tranny, stock turbo's running 398hp or so. Car has good grip, does show understeer. However, this may be beause of the full weight is has. (only carbon hood)
1:00.663 @ Tsukuba. Not bad! I think that losing the understeer a bit more would make it an ultimate street legal racer !

Tuner Comments:
The Nissan EXA is unappreciated, unloved and unwanted by the masses, but it has a fan that goes by the name kingmoshoeshoe2 and a fan that works at RKM. The request was simple. Make the EXA livelier and get rid of the understeer.

So the result is this, the AXE. Why AXE? Because AXE is EXA spelt backwards and axes are good at persuading people. The AXE only has a mere 243bhp, but with only 910kg to carry, 243bhp suddenly seems like quite a lot for an 80?s wagon. The AXE has plenty of traction and doesn?t overpower itself. Understeer shows up only when you over-do it and even then, you can rescue it with ease. The handling is lively but not dangerous. You?ll have plenty of fun driving this car.

I just put this on my Exa...............
THIS THING HAULS. I was so surprised when I drove it. There is no more understeer! It handles amazingly! And it is so quick. I got one of my fastest TGTT lap times with this monster. Fantastic work, 10/10!!!!!

Damn, full aero, stock weight, stock transmission. Slicks, this thing is a beast. Like the others it shows understeer, but no real issue. 53 sec Tsukuba run says it all :D

Well they appreciate your kind words but please don't quote the entire tune, it uselessly takes a large amount of space. 👍

Does anyone know if Roj and RJ use wheels or DS3's? I'm thinking that could explain why I'm experienceing significant understeer on most tunes...

Roj is a DS3 user, RJ is (or should I say was, as RJ PS3 = dead) a wheel user.

i will try not to post complete tunes, sorry :P

im gonna get one of the other tunes and try :D
You WILL read me soon!

Lol hint, what Roj likes is less of the quoted text, and more personal opinions :D i.e more about 'feel' and 'driving dynamics' and less of the quotes :)

I've just realized I'll have to change my review of the Mitsu's I did a long time ago, because the mystery car is the Galant. And I still haven't tested the Emperor yet  Am planning to do that as part of a mega-comparo with other tuners Evo's. Not mine though, that's just a rally tune

RKM Motorsport’s Emperor IV

EmperorIV.jpg

EmperorIV_Big.jpg

I just build this one. Only to my street legal specs. Full on weight, stiffend, full motor works, full turbo, intake exhaust. Pumping around 475hp.

Car runs awesome, 57 sec flat on Tsukuba, however, braking is weird and it understeers easily. Other than that, its a beast :D

Hi Roj! Welcome back! I'm posting a review of the RKM Murcielago SV. I've only applied weight reduction, front and rear aero, chassis stiffening, drivetrain, suspension and tire modifications to the car. I've left out mods that'll increase power.

First off, there's no question of the car's acceleration (even with the stock tranny and hp), however, it suffers from a little understeer. I've managed to remove the understeer by applying a 25/75 torque split and the RKM Gallardo's diff settings and voila! The SV can brake late entering into a corner without risk of understeer!:)

Kudos to the suspension setup of the SV, too. The car is stable at speed, with no hint of wobble. Even when the car's ride height is set at the lowest, it does not bottom out. In the bumpier tracks however, the car gets unsettled by bumps (i.e. in Sarthe '09 and Nordschleife), to the point the tach and the speedo are jarred backward a few clicks. Aggressive braking from high speed results in a tendency for the SV to nosedive but due to the excellent suspension setup, its handling isn't upset.

Acceleration is stupendously fast. It's like driving a K-car with a monstrous V12 chasing you, threatening to run you over if you don't move your behind :)

Overall, I'd give the SV a 9/10. Even without engine upgrades, the SV still is a raging bull, with a dose of RKM :)

That's proper! 👍 still some way off, but he's got the hang of it :D  immaborednoob...

You calling my other nick name mate?

On another note, Roj, I'm curious if you're gonna do a real rally tune meant for a rally car only. I'm even tempted to give you tips but of course you know the tuning game better than me. If you're gonna do a rally tune, consider me as your handy test driver. 👍

Don't worry. He'll be doing one soon enough. I can tell...:mischievous:

...but I won't tell you why. :D

I just tried the Lolvo Tune... Let's say, there will be a favourable review shooting towards RKM's postbox very soon...

LolvoC30-500_Big.jpg

So, let's see here. I would include pics, but I can't find my USB stick. So you'll have to make do without.

I personally have bad experiences with RKM's tunes. They understeered somewhat equivalent to a boat... On land. Loaded with 25 elephants. So to be completely honest, I was excepting the same with the Lolvo. So I bought one, bought the parts, tampered with the settings... And took it to Grand Valley Speedway. I was expecting an understeering beast looking at the weight and spring settings, so I took it into the first sweeper expecting the worst, and... It went round completely flawlessly. While doing 150 KPH in 2nd Gear. So I carried on down the straight, turning into the shallow left-hander leading up to the hairpin, and through the hairpin. There was a smidge of understeer at the hairpin, but it was nowhere near going off track. It was at this point I had to leave for somewhere, so when I came back, I took it to a new track:

Fuji Speedway GT

Why? I have no idea. It was the first track that popped into my head. Now this track was a bit more revealing when it comes to this car. It understeered somewhat more in these turns, and the tires wetn red quite frequently. No loss of grip though, this thing is as stable as brick wall... Glued to the floor... On a planet with the gravity of Jupiter (Jupiter is made of gas, so it can't be Jupiter). Especially that notoriously twisty last section. Red tires and understeer everywhere. But that's, you know, to be expected from an FF car with this much power. I lapped it twice more, coming to a final time of 1:50.516 (GVS was 2:06.472). Now, to the final test:

The Nürburgring Nordschleife

We'll start by psyching myself up for this. I admit, I'm slghtly nervous, seeing this cars understeering tendencies and all. Because, given my very impatient me, if I go off track more than once, I'm going to ragequit. So, off to race:

*7 minutes, 49 seconds and 816 milliseconds later*

That was... Fun. Sort of. Not really. It's the stable as a brick wall thing: It's boring. BTW, I went completely off track once, so you might want to minus 10 seconds off that time.

Anyways, all in all: A nice car, if you don't mind a little understeer If I were to use it frequently, I would probably tweak it a little more oversteeringly, and shorten the damn gears. I barely hit 5th on Döttinger Hohe o.O
