RKM Motorsport - Tuned Tuners - May '13

Excuses, excuses, I'm still clueless on drag tuning and I've been at it for 3 days! :D but my point is, get a move on on my 'vette, then do the Speed 12…
I was only at it for 1 afternoon! :P Besides, after I got stuck at the lobby, I had to exit the hard way and I lost the tune. :indiff:

Admit it though, we only got reasonably good thanks to mafia_boy. :P
Here's a tip mate, take it or leave it.

And on another note, WHY RELEASE THE 458 AGES LATER?! I HAD A TUNED AND BLUE 458 A YEAR AGO WITH THE SAME PAINT JOB AND AERO KIT, BUT I SOLD IT BECAUSE OF HOW CRAP IT IS WHEN MODIFIED, NOW YOU GOT THE TUNE RELEASED WHEN I'M CONTEMPLATING ABOUT MY PRECIOUS FERRARI BEING SOLD AWAY :(

Or did it end up to you? If that's the case I'd be glad you're the one who bought it from me
Thanks for the tips! I'll try them out once I start rebuilding my Supra that I lost thanks to the lobby bug. :ouch:

As for the 458, because it was my coming back suprise! Just do one of the new seasonals and you can afford a new 458! :P

I tested this one, first with stock weight but the rest all done. Good car, but the weight slowed it down too much. Now, stripped the weight and it is truly a Alfa 147 Cup Car with proper NA engine. It does show some mid corner understeer, that might use some work. But overall a very nice tune doing 1:01.753 @ Tsukuba.
Thanks for the test. I think the 147 needs the weight reduction since it's not exactly a Civic Type R as far as weight goes.

Useless info: I bought a model 147 Cup Car in Singapore. Same wing as my GT5 one!
Awesome tune, i used it with stock engine, stock tranny, stock turbo's running 398hp or so. Car has good grip, does show understeer. However, this may be beause of the full weight is has. (only carbon hood)
1:00.663 @ Tsukuba. Not bad! I think that losing the understeer a bit more would make it an ultimate street legal racer !
Yeah, again it's one of those cars that needs the weight reduction. It does have a natural tendency to understeer though.
I just put this on my Exa...............
THIS THING HAULS. I was so surprised when I drove it. There is no more understeer! It handles amazingly! And it is so quick. I got one of my fastest TGTT lap times with this monster. Fantastic work, 10/10!!!!!
Thanks! The EXA is a real sleeper. :D
Damn, full aero, stock weight, stock transmission. Slicks, this thing is a beast. Like the others it shows understeer, but no real issue. 53 sec Tsukuba run says it all :D
Yeah the SV is one of my faster tunes, although the ZZII I just released wipes the floor with it.
Does anyone know if Roj and RJ use wheels or DS3's? I'm thinking that could explain why I'm experienceing significant understeer on most tunes...
I use a DS3, RJ uses both depending on if his wheel is dinked or not.
I just build this one. Only to my street legal specs. Full on weight, stiffend, full motor works, full turbo, intake exhaust. Pumping around 475hp.

Car runs awesome, 57 sec flat on Tsukuba, however, braking is weird and it understeers easily. Other than that, its a beast :D
My IV handles very differently to most of my other cars, you just need to get used to it's quirks.
Hi Roj! Welcome back! I'm posting a review of the RKM Murcielago SV. I've only applied weight reduction, front and rear aero, chassis stiffening, drivetrain, suspension and tire modifications to the car. I've left out mods that'll increase power.
Thanks for the review! The understeer I left so it wouldnt try to kill you with it's 780bhp, but since you ran stock power, I can agree with the need to change the LSD and such. 👍

I'm happy the suspension did it's job, that's the main part of most tunes anyway. :D
You calling my other nick name mate?

On another note, Roj, I'm curious if you're gonna do a real rally tune meant for a rally car only. I'm even tempted to give you tips but of course you know the tuning game better than me. If you're gonna do a rally tune, consider me as your handy test driver. 👍
After playing DiRT3 a lot these past few days, I do want to do a proper rally tune in GT5. :D Tips are always welcome. :)
Don't worry. He'll be doing one soon enough. I can tell...:mischievous:

...but I won't tell you why. :D
Because I keep playing DiRT3?

So, let's see here. I would include pics, but I can't find my USB stick. So you'll have to make do without.

I personally have bad experiences with RKM's tunes. They understeered somewhat equivalent to a boat... On land. Loaded with 25 elephants. So to be completely honest, I was excepting the same with the Lolvo. So I bought one, bought the parts, tampered with the settings... And took it to Grand Valley Speedway. I was expecting an understeering beast looking at the weight and spring settings, so I took it into the first sweeper expecting the worst, and... It went round completely flawlessly. While doing 150 KPH in 2nd Gear. So I carried on down the straight, turning into the shallow left-hander leading up to the hairpin, and through the hairpin. There was a smidge of understeer at the hairpin, but it was nowhere near going off track. It was at this point I had to leave for somewhere, so when I came back, I took it to a new track:

Fuji Speedway GT

Why? I have no idea. It was the first track that popped into my head. Now this track was a bit more revealing when it comes to this car. It understeered somewhat more in these turns, and the tires wetn red quite frequently. No loss of grip though, this thing is as stable as brick wall... Glued to the floor... On a planet with the gravity of Jupiter (Jupiter is made of gas, so it can't be Jupiter). Especially that notoriously twisty last section. Red tires and understeer everywhere. But that's, you know, to be expected from an FF car with this much power. I lapped it twice more, coming to a final time of 1:50.516 (GVS was 2:06.472). Now, to the final test:

The Nürburgring Nordschleife

We'll start by psyching myself up for this. I admit, I'm slghtly nervous, seeing this cars understeering tendencies and all. Because, given my very impatient me, if I go off track more than once, I'm going to ragequit. So, off to race:

*7 minutes, 49 seconds and 816 milliseconds later*

That was... Fun. Sort of. Not really. It's the stable as a brick wall thing: It's boring. BTW, I went completely off track once, so you might want to minus 10 seconds off that time.

Anyways, all in all: A nice car, if you don't mind a little understeer If I were to use it frequently, I would probably tweak it a little more oversteeringly, and shorten the damn gears. I barely hit 5th on Döttinger Hohe o.O

Are you shifting at 6,000rpm? The gears are made purposely long because after 6,000rpm, the car makes no power.
^ I believe Roj made that tune up for serious 500PP racing. I mean SERIOUS.

...maybe not.
Kind of. It is very quick (fastest time anyone managed with it on the FF Shootout was 2:01 at GVS) but it's not the best car for 500PP FF racing. A good underdog though.
I believed he just cobbled it together out of bits of tunes that are lying around. It's not really any good to drive…
And this. It's not refined in the slightest and the fact it did 2:01 suprised even me. It's made from good bits though.

I use Auto Trans lol... I forgot to think of that >.< But everything except the gears comments still stand :P

You should try and get into using manual, you'll be a lot faster once you get into it. That may be why you find a lot of understeer in our tunes too, since auto doesn't downshift until you're out of the powerband already. You can keep the revs up through corners a lot better when you control the gears.

Guess what I'll be spending my Sunday and Monday on (Tuesday is school start >.<)

Hey Roj, I think you forgot to add which stages of weight reduction the Galant Allroad needs.

A review of the RKM M3 CSL:

The ultimate driving machine. The M3 certainly lives up to its reputation; RKM set the bar even higher. The handling and the acceleration are seamless. What I really like about the CSL is its powerband. Even at full sprint in 6th, the car keeps accelerating, unlike in a stock CSL, the engine runs out of puff. Kudos to RKM for tweaking the gearbox so the car is always within its torque curve.

Suspension-wise, there's nothing to fault here. Nimble at the start, the RKM CSL becomes more agile as the car is driven harder, goading the driver to dive a little deeper into the corner, carry a bit more speed...definitely a car meant to be pushed to its limits.

It's a shame the CSL tops out at 499bhp, I'm pretty sure the car could handle more power. Again, hats off to RKM for churning out a car worthy of the title the ultimate driving machine.

Rating 10/10:tup:

Yeah! I love the RKM M3 CSL too! It has so much grip..i can eating my lunch one hand and with second hand i can handle this beast:D I love it! You guys are awesome!!! Could you tune my real car?:D

@GfxJG: The Volvo drives like crap if you're not shifting it at 6 grand. And no, it doesn't play. You either get your braking and turn-in points right or understeer off (it's fastest this way, reducing decel to 5 makes it easier to drive but also makes an overall slower car)... Throttle has a bit more leeway but the worst thing you can do is not hit it hard enough.

Also, take erm... 23 seconds off that Ring time with me driving. And I'm not fast. :P The not-using-manual-and-shifting-too-high thing means instead of pulling like a 400hp brick it pulls like a 250hp brick half the time. 6th comes into use on Dottinger Hohe if you do shift it properly so yeahhhhh :P

After playing DiRT3 a lot these past few days, I do want to do a proper rally tune in GT5. :D Tips are always welcome. :)

And I forgot to point out that sometimes you don't need really long gear ratios in some cases, what I'm telling ya is from my (amateur) experience of tuning cars for SSR7. Like for 1/4 mile runs, you need gear ratios close enough to let the car travel in such high speeds in short distances, but your tuning experience will tell you before I get to.

So you took the 458 when I sold it away and then you tuned it again and showed the world you're back with this car? I am overjoyed by my precious gem being found by a famous tuner. 👍

Well, common sense says that in rally tuning, a soft suspension setup and 50/50 weight distribution is key. And possibly extremely short ratios if the rally stage is just full of corners, corners and corners. Speaking of which, I have yet to try RJ's Impreza GVB setup on such special surfaces

How do I make requests for a tune, Roj? Should I PM you or post the request in this thread? :)

Make a review. The more detailed it is, the more he'll be pleased. Then:

GTP Name:
PSN Name: (Only if you wish to send us the car, otherwise ignore.)
Your Car:
Sending Your Own Car? Yes/No (Delete the one which does not apply to you.)
If No, Specify Car Details: (Please include as much detail as you can. Tires, power limitations, part preferences, etc.)
Tuning Request: (Please be as reasonable as you can. A Prius wont out-drag a Corvette.)
Link To Review:

Basically, 1 review = 1 request.

Well…one 'exception', if you do what us lot do, write reviews like a lunatic and make them lose track, you might just be able to fudge one or two more tunes than you deserve :D I know I always claim to have done '50 or more' reviews here, but I bet you that's not the case. But I'll also bet you I'll get 50 or more tunes from this lot as well :D

I'm currently meticulating over your ZZII tune, Roj. I'm not at my PS3 right now, so what would be your Opinion of the ZZII vs your Enzo GT you and RJ did?

They're equal in PP if you max the downforce on the Enzo...

RKM Motorsport’s Pinkie Pie Z

Pinkie is a monster! I had this car, fully tuned, but with no proper tuning. Apllied this tune and damn this goes fast! 53 sec Tsukuba, like WTF!? It has plenty op grip, just the perfect amount of under and oversteer and it had plenty of go!

Absolute monster :D

Update: my version has over 512hp :P

Also give kudos to a silver haired chick who's currently hibernating... :sly:

coughcoughShyecoughcough

What happened to her? She just disappeared one day…

Some say she teleported to Australia.

Some say she flew back to America to meet up with her old friends.

All we know is, we don't even know.

Hey guys, have not seen you in a while. Im just now getting home from Military stuff. so im ready to start rolling again so to speak lol

Hey Roj, I think you forgot to add which stages of weight reduction the Galant Allroad needs.
Thanks, it's fixed now.
A review of the RKM M3 CSL:

Rating 10/10:tup:
Thanks for the review! The CSL is one of my favourite BMW's in GT5 because of how it handles it's power. I wish it could get upwards of 700bhp, because it can clearly handle 500bhp like it's nothing!
Yeah! I love the RKM M3 CSL too! It has so much grip..i can eating my lunch one hand and with second hand i can handle this beast:D I love it! You guys are awesome!!! Could you tune my real car?:D
Sure! Just send the car, keys and a signed document stating I don't have to pay a penny if I wreck it. :D
How do I make requests for a tune, Roj? Should I PM you or post the request in this thread? :)
Just check out the bottom of the first post, there's a nice little guide to requesting there. :) Then PM either me or Rotary Junkie. Requests posted in the thread usually get forgotten under all the replies.
Roj, the ZZII tune is great!
Thanks!

Yeah, she was sitting at the back of GT Auto looking quite sad. So I bought her and now she's happy as can be. :D

I remember you doing the majority of our roster and running out of cars, so 50 is probably right. :P

The ZZII slaps the Enzo silly. There's no contest at all. The Enzo has a straight line advantage and that's it. The ZZII brakes, turns and launches 100 times better.

Welcome back!

Pinky is really a good tune :D its sticky and superfast :D Lets see what a more street legal version does in laptimes :D
I'd expect it wont be much slower, since a 380RS is already borderline street legal anyway.
Don't be silly. I don't even have DiRT 3. Although I sometimes wish I did, it sounds pretty awesome from what I have heard :D

Yeah I love it. It's really easy to get into and it's bags of fun, especially gymkhana. I own Ken Block! Mwahahaha!

Very effective car that transmission setup is really well done, and it can turn corners pretty well at trial mountain.

I raced the NSX that you guys tuned with your suspension settings online and won almost every race with that car. Then after countless months i realized i forgot to buy the weight upgrades. This car is definitely unbeatable now.

can the r34 black edition handle more power? i'm thinking about adding some.

It's at the limit as it is, you can take up to 500 on the dot, but that's as high as I know it can handle. I'd try the Mine's GTR for max power though, 660hp in a GTR without breaking a sweat.
