RKM Motorsport - Tuned Tuners - May '13

Um……quick question, didn't the new update fix all the diff settings? So how did you get the tune to work with the diff being locked, nonadjustable? Unless it was set up beforehand…

The diff settings aren't 'locked' for FF cars, but a stupid bug in cursor placement means you can't actually get on them to change them. If anything, I haven't noticed any change with this patch other than this, and this is bad. So PD have taken a step back with this patch :grumpy:

Well…that's what I meant! :D anyways, RJ, you'd be glad to know, the ratio of RJ - Roj in my next review is 2 - 1. As will the following reviews unless I get sidetracked. And I'll be trying as hard as I can to make it 'proper', so no complaints :D

My Little Ferrari: A review of the Ferrari 458F by an aquatic reptile thing.
Thanks for the review!
Well…you've done something similar for me before…I'd write and post a review, a few days later request a car, and then another car, and you'd never say no:lol:
But you've done 9,001 reviews.
well Roj wouuld you just do the 1970 Challenger R/T then please, thanks  by the way lol i didnt want you to do them both i was giving you a choice but no worries :sly: and could you make it a Racing Hard Endurance monster 550/600pp your choice mate 👍
Okay. 👍 Would've chose the Challenger anyway. :D
After doing tests of several peoples NSX-R tunes. I decided I don't really like this car. Here its what I made of the Stock car and the 3 RKM versions.
To see the full NSX right up head over here.
I like how RJ's is slightly better at High Speed Ring, but mine is a Deep Forest monster. :D Thanks for doing these time trials with the NSX tunes, I'll have to keep an eye on your thread! 👍 Will you be doing our NSX Evolution R too?
CRIMSON R REVIEW
This is what the Crimson R does, makes believers out of people. Nice job sticking to the M5 while you did and glad to hear it's made you faster as a driver too. :D
Have you heard about the LSD adjustment glitch yet Roj?

Any Civics or Integras are in jeopardy now - you can't change the LSD on FFs. Good thing we did the FF Shootout before the glitch struck
Yeah it's quite a pain but at least the default LSD settings aren't too bad. Lucky I tuned the Copen when I did!

Ive driven this car for a few days now and i must say that i am very very pleased with the result. Finally it is the car that i wanted. Its even easy to drive @ Tsukuba (my favorite track) The Ring was easy :D. Thing is so easy to control that im thinking of giving it a power boost :D

It sticks to the road real good and almost no wheelspin anymore (i drive it on racing soft)
You did an excellent job on this one!Thank you!!
Glad you're happy with the result! Boosting power may ruin it's easy-to-control feeling though.

thanks roj! :D
Oh yeah, about the Challenger, could it be an endurance racer, racing hards Non RM no aero kits except at the front.I would like it to be stable so you could use ballast, 550pp/600pp? your choice :)

It's a muscle car, it'll be almost too stable. But yeah, sure. 👍 I'll do 550PP first and then see if 600 is noticably better.

C4 VTS REVIEW
Well pumping out another review today, and i also will be reviewing the "Civic VTi-R" anyway just gave the C4 VTS the RKM treatment, and i was a bit weary about the wing that needed to be attatched :ouch: i thought it looked abit....err...weird but anyway, 380hp+ Citroen! i have drove this car stock and it was "decent" but it felt too understeery, and i dont know if that was down to the shear weight of the car or the "comfortable suspension" actually it was probably a bit of both :) anyway i took it to the TGTT and did a few laps, my first impressions were very good to say the least! the car works at its best if you slow right down before the corner and just floor it halfway through the corner, Yup this will cause the car to understeer, and normally i would have rather died than understeer in a car! but understeer in the C4 VTS is minimal, and even if it does happen it is so fun. i cant explain why, i guess you'll have to try it out yourself! :sly: anyway back to the appearance of the car i decided to take the wing off, and try and set a lap time
Wing ON:1.15.957
Wing OFF:1.16.564
When you turn in WITHOUT the wing on the back-end slides out. At this point its not much of a problem because you can hardly hold the slide! the problem occurs when the back-end comes back in line. the front just goes crazy and understeers no matter where you are throughout the corner! the whole cars steering becomes unresponsive, the only way to get the C4 out of this "fit" is to slam the brakes on and slow right down, allowing the car to re-cooperate, and then you lose loads of precious time :grumpy:
so no matter how ugly the aero parts are, keep them on they do make a huge difference.
Out Right Speeeeeeed!
Very "nippy" for a car of its size (its not huge but its not a smart-car is it) i havnt tried the C4 VTS online but i guess it should be pretty good. this will definately put some high-end sports cars maybe even Supercars! to shame through the twisties. its so stable, a huge bundle of fun fast good handling (with WING) do not underestimate the C4
Overall
Fun: 9.5/10
speed:8.5/10
handling10/10
this car would probably scare the shizz out of the "honda civic turbo" and the "integra type R turbo" it would give them a good run for their money anyway :sly:

Not bad, only 2 seconds (I think) down on my time with it, and I've driven on the TGTT for around 1 million times :D

lol i just unlocked it because the samba van race stressed me out, they kept ramming ME and then it said "disqualified" and is it my eye-sight or just the track, i can never see the second to last corner!!!!!!:ouch:

The secnd to last corner is tricky to get right, but all I can say it that if you know what you're doing, your race can be won or loss at that corner. Practice makes perfect. As long as you don't shuffle race

I'll check the Evolution R out this week.
I did think it was cool how your 2 tunes were great for different tracks. Proves you're a good all round tuning garage. the times coming from the different tunes are all fairly close, it just some peoples tunes are a lot more stable and put out consistent lap times than others.

Spent last night doing seasonals so didn't do any more reviewing, but I'll get back to it this week.

It's turning out to be a much bigger task than I first thought it would. taking an hours to test each car. It's also a lot more enjoyable than i thought it would be. I had got to a point with GT5 where I was doing the seasonal then leaving the game for a week or so till the next set. Now I can't find enough hours to do what I want on there.

I'll let you guys know once I have tested the next 3 cars, inc the Evolution R

Oh and sorry about mixing the names on the tunes up to start with. Been sifting through so many tunes and info I got things mixed up.

Cheers
Cactus

thanks for the advice 👍 im normally faster than the AI but the runway is so flat you can't really see the entrance, but i do most of my laps on "the ring" :sly:

Tip: Go to the race, at the tirewall head over to the second to last corner, and practice the braking zone.

You've done it, but there might be others reading.

I had to use the above car cam for this race. that corner is a killer. I found with the above car cam I could see it coming and on the first lap judge it right and take 4 or 5 vans in one go. but it's hard not to bump one in this maneuver.

Really? I could take that corner at pretty much full speed in the event...I don't remember having braked at all at that corner...

Of course Onboy doesn't remember braking for any corner ever...:lol:

Thanks for the review! Yeah the wing is definately needed for such a high power FF, regardless of what anti-rice websites tell you. It is very fast though and if you use a high RPM turbo it's one of the fastest in a straight line. Can't turn with 420bhp or however much it gets.

It does rival the CTR Turbo but the Civic is probably the better car in the long run. Also the ITR Turbo is a racing modified car so it's out of the C4's league.

I'll check the Evolution R out this week.

Cheers

Thank you and looking forward to seeing the results! 👍

It's like me with tuning, if I didn't tune cars, I'd probably leave GT5 a week at a time until the next seasonals.

And yeah the mistake is understandable. Happens to us all. 👍

Yep in the sambus you can hit that corner at nearly full speed. you need to time it perfectly when there are 7 other sambus' around you though.
the number of times I bumped one slightly on the last lap trying to get in to first and i was disqualified. it was sickening.

Thank you and looking forward to seeing the results! 👍

It's no problem at all. It's all good fun, looking forward to my next session around deep forest already.

Was that to me, or Cactus? and the more you drive the track, the more you'll learn. I know a 'trick' of overtaking in the 2nd to last corner. Well…I say trick, but really, it's just a 'scare the **** out of the other guy' move :D
