RKM Motorsport’s RX-7 R400

Based on: 2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R

Used this setup with some different power mods for the Tsukuba Seasonal Event just now. Had to use SRF since PD screws us over so bad. Ran 59.911 my best lap, with the rest being 1'00 and one 1'01. A few tries without SRF on had me in the low 1'02s. Great setup though. Surely not the setup's fault that I couldn't win the event, definitely PD. Synraith posted a setup he used for that event but it understeers so bad for me.

Guess who’s back with a complete makeover for GT5? Oh yes. It’s the RVV NSX-R Evo.II all rebuilt for this generation. The main difference you’ll notice is the new aero, new wheels and the titanium pipes out back. Under the bonnet, you’ll notice a fresh new C32B engine with a reliable 393bhp. Weight has been reduced to 1051kg, making this old favourite even faster than before. Oh yeah, it’s still just as agile, if not more so.

This 3rd Anniversary model marks the 3rd year of this NSX’s life.

Hello guys,
I just joined the forum just to tell you that this setup is crazy!
Fast, easy to handle and fun to drive!
With this set up, I rode in 6.52.xxx on the nurbungring, really amazing.
Thanks guys, great job

Hey Rotary Junkie
thanks for the help, the car is doing great and the setup gave me a base for the 99. which now handles great at 975HP. im looking forward to the next one.

and im just throwing this out there, ill probably get bashed for this. I think a small donation would be good once in a while for the amount of time and effort given. there is no telling how many hours he has tuning cars for people, and most them really enjoy the tunes. Its good to know your appreciated

Rotary Junkie: Do you think you could modify your FD tune to accommodate sports hard tires to complete the seasonal race?

I could but I see fairly little point; the instant you throw skid recovery on it becomes an instant win anyway.

I have to say this tune is NASTY!!!

I modified my R34 with everything but it handled like crap and on some races could only manage 2nd place. I found this tune earlier today and have to say the car handles PERFECT!!! I can't believe how much of a difference this tune made to the car.

After the tune I went from getting second to getting first... not only did I get first but I got it by 10+ sec!!! I gotta say this thing is a blast to drive and is very easy to control thanks to this tune, also this tune is very good for almost any race, man I love this car lol...

BIG UPS TO THE RKM TEAM!!!

Thanks.

Funny that, I've been using my civic since I won it in bspec FF. since level 1, I'm now level 31 & I've just noticed this thread, funny thing is, I've use the exact same tune for weeks & never knew someone else had found the secret 'G Spot' to this car ;-) same tune, no way. Great tune xD keep it up man !

That's kinda scary that Roj and you wound up with identical settings

This car jetfighter just flies throught the track! It's so nimble, fast and fun that everyone should try it. I guarantee you will fall in love. Just like I did. I drove this car on the Nurburgring and I've to admit it was my first clean lap :embarrassed: I did it in 7:24:361 It's pretty amazing for me (I'm using G27 for 2 weeks now) I have tried the RX7 also and I had something about 7:29:xxx. Thats a huge difference, isn't it? NSX-R is simply your best tune. I could feel every bump on the road, it's power is just perfect. You can exit corners with full throttle and not worry about sliding, tho if somehow you would make this car to slide its really simple to recover it from this weird stance :) Thank you Roj for this amazing tune, it is worth every penny! I'm starting all over again, becouse of corrupted save file and I spent my last credit points to get this beast! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The NSX-R is an excellent car to start with. Any improvement at all makes it a world-beater.

Can you guys do a 300ZX drift tune?

My current 300ZX setup is probably as close to a dedicated drift setup as will happen any time soon. That said, it does sideways quite well as it sits.

Needing a EVO IX tune...

Then follow the request policy.

Love your tunes guys!! Keep up the good work. That IS-F Lexus is sick. I've been having a blast with this car.

Heh. That IS-F was a complete pig when I got it. Now it just has a bit of lipstick and a turn of speed.

Used this setup with some different power mods for the Tsukuba Seasonal Event just now. Had to use SRF since PD screws us over so bad. Ran 59.911 my best lap, with the rest being 1'00 and one 1'01. Synraith posted a setup he used for that event but it understeers so bad for me.

After trying that event with SRF on, I'd say that a setup which understeers rather badly with it off may be faster than a neutral-to-oversteery car, if more annoying. Good to hear the setup worked well for you though.

There goes your pictures again!

Yeah, noted. Really should just grab Photobucket Pro, this is starting to get annoying.

Hey Rotary Junkie
thanks for the help, the car is doing great and the setup gave me a base for the 99. which now handles great at 975HP. im looking forward to the next one.

I highly doubt you'll get bashed for that. Good to hear the setup helped a bit, I wouldn't mind revisiting it with a '99 properly just to make it "right".

hey rotary and roj, just a heads up, your photo's need to be rehosted their bandwidth has been exceeded. I have been using alot of your tunes btw and I must say, amazing. I love the z06 and I have actually used its tune on my zr1 and it works very well with a few tweaks here and there.

Keep up the good work yall.

The civic tune has rear toe out - should make the rear end twitchy, but you are using very light springs - should make the rear more grippy. Wouldn't these be at odds with one another?

Mate, believe me, it sticks like SH** To A Blanket. It only ever twitches when you hard break then let off a stamp back on ( if you lock up) but apart from that, it's an immense tune. You P1SS on scoobys & 4wd's ;-) Love it, got All 4 Veriations of EK Civic's xD

Well it not EXACT, I mean different wheels & mods. But the suspension, Aero, & Diff' are the sane xD

Awesome tunes especially on the Gallardo & R34. Keep up the good work!
Got any plans to tune cars such as the SLS AMG? That car is so hard to tune right... :ill:

If you need a vehicle to do constant Ikea runs in, you'll want a wagon if you want to keep anything resembling driving dynamics. If you want a fast wagon, you'll buy an Audi RS6 Avant.

And if you find that the stock RS6 isn't fast enough to beat the crowd and could use a bit more room in the back for stuff, well... Bring it on by us. We'll strip all the rear interior trim, making the already-huge load area even bigger, crank the power by more than 300hp, and make an absolute monster. That will haul more than some trucks.

This car handles like a dream, once again you guys are real good at this tuning thing, keep up the good work!!

Anyway the car feels much better than before so thank you
Edit: Reset the areo to the standard settings and changed the gearing to 199mph

RKM Motorsport’s NSX-R 3rd Anniversary

Fist of all I am using a car of a slightly different spec. Mine is a 1991 Acura NSX with Race modification, this means the car has a bit more power and a bit less weight, also being race modified it has more in the way of aero capibility.
I was amazed when I first tried this car, it had great turn in and an incredible amount of grip through the corners, even with no tracion control the car never steps out of line. It also works very well on hard compound racing tyres which makes it great for the grand valley 300km race. The power and weight of this car mean it gets of the line well as well as getting out of corners fast.
So to finish off, good speed, great handling.

You guys are magicians!!

Just won the Polyphony Digital Cup with your Mazda Atenza build ... Who would've thought that you could bet a Ford GT with a 4-door Mazda!!

Will post video of the Grand Valley Race as soon as I can work out how to do so.

Keep up the good work 👍

RKM Motorsport’s 787B Black Beauty

787BBlackBeauty.jpg

Amazing tune.

On my first race on Suzuka: 1:48:023, and I have made some little mistakes. I only use ABS set to 1, everything else Off.

This car is really fast, and you have to be careful when you are in 2nd gear, if you press too much the gas pedal it is almost sure you are going to wheelspin, so it is a good thing to change quickly to 3rd or even don't reduce to 2nd. Maybe if we could adjust the gears it would be even better (perhaps with a longer 2nd).

Until today my best on Suzuka was 1:54:XXX with my Zonda, perhaps not a good time, but for me improve this result the first time I drive the 787B in more than 6 seconds is amazing.

Thank you so much!

I've been running with the March Super Turbo for quite a few races now. It is one heck of a car! I am not an expert driver by any means but I do consider myself middle to upper middle class (I can get the golds on most license tests but don't always have that perfect technique when racing). Here are a few thoughts

It definitely is a tight little number around the track. The set up (minus a two upgrades for budget/curiosity purposes) is quite forgiving and am excellent ride for beginners to experts. I found I could take this car much deeper into the corners before braking. Quite a nice surprise! It is very quick. I left off the stage 3 turbo and did not put the chassis stiffening on the car and I still think it is a very impressive machine. I will add the turbo and stiffening later on but for now, It is a very impressive ride despite "only" 170bhp and sitting at 854kg.

Great Job guys!

Thanks again for all the work you guys do.

I've been going through and giving credit where credit is due.

Thanks!

***EDIT*** To other tuning shops! If I haven't given you any credit yet then my bad! I just haven't had a chance to test your tunes yet.

I'm a big fan of RKM Motorsports and your setups. I appreciate the help you gave me with my M5. I have been working on a project car of my own. It is a 74' Triumph spitfire. I have been researching classic suspension setups and tuned it as it would be for autocross. I made a some adjustments as real suspension geometry doesn't exactly translate strain to GT5. I think i have got a pretty good setup and am wondering if you would be willing to test it out and give some feedback?

Thank you so much guys, have to try these on all those I own, not a lot yet :P. I guess winning will be easy after seeing all your tunes, great job!

The GT-R tune is IMMACULATE! Thanks heaps! Such a joy to drive!

Good to hear. There will be an R33 from me coming soonish (as in as soon as Roj gets back from vacation).

What colour did you use for the Midnight Z? the closest I've ever gotten was the R33's Midnight Purple.

Would you guys mind doing a rally tune of a Lan-Evo? Preferably the 4 or 6 (I can send you mine if that helps).

Here's a review of your Midnight Z:

First Drive

Wow this car is amazing, you can hear the supercharged VQ37 Howling away as soon as you mash the gas pedal (I'm Using a DFGT so it's literal) It feels like it has 200 more horsepower than the numbers say, and drives like that too. I've never had a car with only 500HP be able to reach 300 km/ph so quickly, if only my VQ35 actually was that fast! Even at top speed the car changes direction quick, you can easily feel that this car means business, you can go overtake that slow F430 in front of you at SSR7 with just a flick of the wheel and a tap on the gas. Despite it's confidence inspiring high speed handling, it's just as good going 60 kmph around the Hammerhead at the Top Gear Test Track. Even though this car is wonderfully set up for circuit racing, it is the first (and currently only) FR car that I can drift.

The Hot Lap

This car ran a 1:16.6xx Which put my Skylines to shame and Chases my GT-R SpecV all the way home.

Final Thougths

This car is out of this world, forget Your Skylines, this is just that good. It's a good tune even for not so competent drivers (like me). You guys have tuned this car to perfection. Now if you excuse me, I'm going for a ride in my Midnight Z.

Driver's notes: This car drifts amazingly for a car that can grip just as amazingly. Drift pics are at http://s725.photobucket.com/albums/ww254/Zhu8/RKM Motorsports Midnight Z/ Enjoy!

Wow, this is the first time I've looked at the garage, and you haven't wasted any time, have you? I was hoping to find some pathetically low-power models I could use online to great effect, and it seems that Roj is specializing in building just those. Great success.

Though, I just might have to try that VTi-R setup on the Mugen Motul I just won. That should work...
