RKM Motorsport - Tuned Tuners - May '13

I tested out the GT 86 GT-Apex tune, and I have one thing to say and ask: When I go into some corners, the rear end just moves and slides and goes out of control. Do you have any solutions on your own tune on how to keep the rear end from moving so much with the same spring rate?

Tuner Comments:
SoMe0nE2tAlK2 reviewed our CR-Z Type R and gave some pretty detailed feedback, including a head to head against the Spoon CR-Z, also with the RKM settings. In return, he requested a Honda S2000 with 305bhp and no limits on weight. So here it is.

Honda already made the S2000 an amazing car from the factory. However, we made the amazing even better. This S2000 can pick any line it wants through a corner, any, and it’ll fly through at breakneck speed every time. It’ll do full throttle launches without wheelspin and it’ll make the Eiger hairpins look like child’s play. Oh and it’ll easily take more power, very easily.

After delivering this car to SoMe0nE2tAlK2, he found the online physics gave the S2000 a bit more oversteer than usual. To combat this, he changed the rear toe setting to –0.08, which helped keep the rear end in better control.

New for Spec II, this S2000 now packs 30 more horsepower and a new gearbox to match.

24th Feb 2011 - Transmission & ballast/power settings.
22nd Oct 2011 - Parts list changes & Spec II adjustments.

Good job on the tune, it works on very flat track if you like a very twitchy car but in my experience it is not suited to the nurbugring, can you guys do a tune for the same car and the ring please?

RKM Motorsport’s C63 AMG

This is what the Albanian Mafia take out on the week ends, with the C63 AMG they will never need to waste their money on guns and ammunition just tires, a whole lot of tires because all they need to do is put the the pedal to the metal and when they find their victim they have to pull the handbrake and not only will the tires be smoke but also their victim. After a long day at work they might want a smoke but wait they forgot a lighter but no worries they just have to go down a gear and the flames from what seems to be a dragon but is actually the monster engine will come out of the exhaust and light it for them. This car is a monster when you want it to be but with care this can be one of the best cars you will ever drive so whatever mood you're in the car will suit you and you will suit the car.

I like this tune as it has some oversteer, which is your friend :)

...yet.

Though from what I heard from Roj the BR-Z is basically just a safer-handling FR-S/GT86. Default settings are the same, it's within a hundredth of a second of the other two on SSRX speed test (same launch Gs as well), it's just slightly more understeery.

Tuning Request: MAKE IT OUTDRAG AN X2011!1!1!!!!111!1 Nah, I kid. I would like this Camaro to be a fun/enjoyable car to drive around a track on Sport Softs, while still being able to kick the tail out and put on a bit of a smoky show online, if the enjoyment needs to be kicked up another notch.

The car's already been purchased and the parts have been fitted, all it needs now is to be sent off to you guys to work your magic on it :D

Long time since I've been in here. Thanks everyone for your reviews, they're much appreciated. 👍 And a note to future reviewers, none of our tunes have been updated for 2.08 yet so bare that in mind when reviewing, thanks. :D

And as far as requests go, I don't think any of them can be taken since I've moved on from tuning for the time being, RJ's PS3 is still broken and Dragonthing is moving house. So here's a great resource for finding tunes.
Where's my BRZ tune? :P
In my garage, next to the Honda HSV. :D

Pretty much. It does mean the BRZ does have the potential to be faster than the 86 when you start tuning though.

Thanks ^..^ when it's all over I'll have a chance to not only post tunes, but reviews and lovely photos too :D

heeey you used the dog emoticon ^..^ YAY! i thought i was the only one who acuttly uses it any more

but on a side note i tested both the FRS and the FT86 and the FR-S seems to be slightly faster (both brand new form the dealership and same S450 tunes)

last night i tried the BR-Z with the same tune. the BR-Z to me seems to handle a bit better but it seems to be lacking.(i been using the Motegi Road course as the test bed for them) the FR-S and the GT/FT86 both seem to be very easly to side around corners and not lose much pace while the BRZ seems to lose a bit of momentem when sliding. i will test this abit more indepth tonight. but the FR-S did a 2:19,the FT/GT86 did a 2:21 and the BRZ did a 2:24.

This is weird.

Academy Cars, new DLC, and VTiRoj on a podcast. Where did everyone go?

*heads of to the island to find out what's going on* :dopey:

As far as I can tell, RKM is closed.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but how long has it been since a tune was released?

If RJ's PS3 was working, I suspect we'd see a hell of a lot of tunes.

And a garage isn't closed until the owners say its closed.

We might as well be closed because all 3 of us have stopped tuning and in 2 confirmed cases, no longer actively playing GT5. The thing is with GT5 garages is that they never physically close. The thread will always remain open so you guys can leave feedback or whatever. 👍

I just had an arguably stupid idea, but you could, in essence, pass the baton on to someone (or 2) to keep RKM going.

Afraid that without RJ, VTiRoj and Dragonthing providing the tunes it just wouldn't be the same. They have a certain style and flair with their tunes that mark them as RKM.

Would suggest that if there were tuners interested in posting new tunes they open their own garage and build their own style. Otherwise it would likely just be seen as trying to profit from an established name.

I see where you're coming from. Maybe if the RKM crew taught someone their knowledge...

If this was a real garage then yeah it'd make sense to pass the business on, but a forum thread? Besides there's nothing to pass on except a couple hundred tunes that need updating.

That'd be very difficult over the internet.
