I tried and tried, and tried, but I can stand it no longer. The steering locks if I lift throttle, if I engange it, if I upshift, if I blink, breathe and burp. It is an utter piece of crap. Before I make myself sicker than I already feel, I have sold this God damn worthless piece of **** and will never participate an any standard rules race with this car again. Hopefully whoever has it is burning it. I'll have to go through a few races to get the Clio as I'm low on credits.

Nothing personal, Boom, but I hate that car.

Ahhhhh, my job here is complete!
See you at Deep Forest T!

I just don't understand why I could not improve in this car. I could only get into the 1:34s, rarely.

Hey Boom, try this for torture.....

Car: Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak Version
Track: Cote de' Azure, Arcade mode, professional, 10 laps
Mods: Supersofts, stage 4 turbo
NO WALL TOUCHES, EVEN IF AI CAUSED IT

You must be pretty suicidal if you want to race that!

Or how about a fully modded Lotus Elise at Seattle with sim tires, the stiffest suspension possible, and no TCS or ASM. Your run is disqualified if you even begin to spin out.

Back on topic, last night I managed a 4'46.920 with minimal wall scrapes. The GT-One and R390 sure are some harassers though, especially that damn Toyota

Nice time there Fury! I expect you'll finish well here in your race :) just remember though, your submitted race must be clean ;)

Hey Fury, how goes it with round 10 mate...made any attempts yet? I haven't had the chance to run this again since the team was testing it but I will be back on it as soon as I get the time. You should find plenty of info within this thread but any prob's give me a yell. ;)

Public holiday over here in Oz yesterday so I managed a three hour session around the streets of Seattle...and have I mentioned that I HATE THIS RACE...aaaaahhhhh!!! I'm guessing l made at least a couple of hundred starts (maybe more) and very rarely got past the first lap :banghead: Damn A.I.
On a happier note...I have managed to improve my lap times...lap 1 is regularly down in the 1:39's and the flyers are into the 1:32's....so all I have to do is get that One run in and its done, but what a nightmare!! ;)
Welcome aboard Duke and good luck with it mate..if you want any help with a set-up or anything let me know. Cheers, Drew. ;)

Thanks, and please, post your current setup. My ITR is one of my favorite FF cars (fast, fun, and relaxing to drive ) in 300-hp form. I'm expecting the 'relaxing' factor do go down a bit with the addition of 180 more prancing horses.

From the Amateur Type R races I've got my car beautifully dialled in at the 300hp level, but I have a nagging suspicion that I still am using Sport suspension, not full race. I'll have to spend a few kilocredits on it to bring it up to snuff.

Just to clarify, fully tuned means anything I can do to spend money on the car, correct? Including lightweight, etc? Also, what tires are you running?

Thanks for any advice you've got to offer.

Yes Duke...Fully tuned/Full mod's means that you can add everything available onto your car...so spend those bucks! Run super softs (T8's) as there is no tyre wear and you'll need all the grip you can find.
Don't have time tonight but I promise to post up my current settings as well as another 2 that they progressed from. Now hints for the race...hmmmm, let me see...some soothing music to help with the  anger that the A.I. will induce   On a serious note...don't be afraid to mix it up with the other cars on track, just try not to smack into 'em to hard. I hate traction control but this race needs it..mine's set to 2 or 3. The set-ups might help you but this race will need many, many attempts I'm afraid just to get a clean, submissable run. :irked: Good luck with it mate...will post tomorrow cheers, Drew. ;)

OK, I took my first crack at this last night after building my car. My first and only run was a 5':05.xxx, finishing in 5th place ahead of the Vertigo and literally pushing the GT40 over the finish line. About 3.5xx" behind the GT One IIRC. Prior to that I ran 5 setup laps or so which are in the consistent 1':40.low" range, but I know there is plenty of time to be found even for me. Plus I don't have the car dialled in yet though it is in rough shape.

Currently I'm running the rear very stiff of course, the front fairly soft, and massive toe out at the rear. I think I have the gearing a little tighter than Boombexus does but with a slightly taller FD. Gearing doesn't seem to be the problem at the moment but hopefully I will speed up until it is...

I'm not afraid to get into it with the AI when I can catch 'em. I figure fenders and doors are made to rub (especially on a city course), but bumpers are a no-no.

OK, I've gotten a chance to make some more runs at this. In Free Run, my laps are coming in between 1':36.low" and 1'38.high", which is a less consistent than I'd like but about par for my course. I experimented with running T8s in front and T5s out back, but ultimately that proved not grippy enough despite being fairly easy to coax a four-wheel-drift out of. I did some more tinkering and arrived in the range above.

Unfortunately due to the annoying AI, I've never been able to break 1':39.low" on a race lap, which means I still don't have a sub-5':00" race... GRRRRRRR.

Any tips on how to deal? Any particular entrants that I should look for or avoid? Sometimes the 787B and the Zonda racer show up for the party, sometimes not.

Heh, it's weird. I find the Vertigo the easy to get around, but hard to stay in front of. He and the GT40 driver are real pricks when it comes to track manners. So far I've gotten to third position, but then been run out of it on the last lap.

For the record, here are my current settings. The car seems to handle pretty decently (traffic is the real problem) given my driving style.

Springs: 9.0/12.0
Ride: 100/95
Bound: 3/10
Rebound: 3/10
Camber: 3.5/0.0
Toe: +0.5/-2.0
Stabs: 3/6
Brakes: 14/24
F/D: 4.550
AS: 27
LSD: none

That's pretty funny, since most of those settings are the reverse of yours. I'm going to try widening the gears a little and shortening the FD to get a little more low end out of her.

Yes...I am finally finishing in 1st place...have done it quite a few times now. :D Put in a few more Km's around Seattle today and Intend to do the same again tomorrow. Changed my set-up a little more again and ran a 1:32.592 in free run while playing around. Will post the new settings up tomorrow given time or grab them off this replay using MK's replay checker ;)

Best Race time so far is a 4:46.816 ....but unfortuneately it has a wall kiss (ever so light too :( ) so it would get a DA I'm afraid. Here's the replay.....

But this Race 4:48.078 is clean. So I guess its a good banker for now. Should be able to get a clean 4:46, maybe a 4:45 if I'm lucky, but that will be about my limit I'm afraid. Could someone check out this replay to make sure that my A.I. contact is within the spirit of the rules please?

OK, if I can manage to keep the AI out of my butt, I should be able to turn in a clean 4':55" race. Off the pace a bit but that's about as good as I'll get.

Always interested in trying new setups, PH, so by all means post 'em. I'm about to tinker my gearing to see if I can get my fast lap below 1':36".

New personal best..........

Lap 1 1:39.290
Lap 2 1:33.218
Lap 3 1:33.844

Total Race Time 4:46.352

It does have a very minor wall touch...but it was caused by the GT-one rear ended me into the barrier as I was leaving the corner so its legal under the revised rules.

Here's the settings......

Springs: 11.8 kgf/mm front / 15.6 kgf/mm rear
Ride Height: 90mm front / 95mm rear
Damper bound: 6 front / 10 rear
Damper rebound: 6 front / 10 rear
Camber: 2.8 front / 2.2 rear
Toe: 1.0 front / -2.0 rear
Stabiliser: 3 front / 7 rear
Brake balance: 24 front / 20 rear
LSD: 5 / 25 / 5
Gears: 3.648 / 2.741 / 2.147 / 1.752 / 1.490 / 1.190
Final: 3.00
Auto set: 15
ASM: 0
TCS: 2

The Field consisted of a R390, GT-One, GT40, Vertigo and Camaro racecar. hope this is of assistance! ;)
