I'l try to report monday. still working on tires. now i'd rather not give too much data on what times i have managed, but i am off the lancer's pace, which i think is understandable. i am worried that i may have over driven the car. i've got 95-110 miles in it, maybe more, and if it's not the type that rises in hp, i may have hurt myself, or hurt myself if i'm not careful. lotus indicated there is a way for me to get cars from the MK program, at least i think she did, so things may work out. btw, i'm too tired to care much about making sense. so if this post leaves you scratching your heads, sorry.

hiya T, spent a little time testing tyres myself after work tonight..and yes I am also off the Lancers pace...but don't forget that we are 40 plus HP down, there is tyre wear and this thing is front wheel drive :irked:. Have had an attempt at the race but will fill you in on the results via a PM mate (can't be letting any secrets out now :D ). Reasonably happy for the short amount of time I've spent on it. Are you finding any difficulties with the car at all?

Bugger it all...was going to give you all the details via a PM, but I can't post attachments in one. So here's what I was gonna post....

Here's the initial attempt that I've made at a race T, very slow but that will improve as I go! As I see you know how to get settings using the replay checker built into MK's wonderful program I'm just gonna post the replay up mate. I cannot for the life of me get close to the times I've run in Free run (1:18.8's) so at this stage 1:19.5's are all I can muster. Very early days though so I'll get back to you soon. Cheers Drew.

T, as the deadline draws closer I will e-mail my best race attempts but for now I'm gonna put my trust in me 'ol mate Ron ;) not to pass this on to GT3 Times.

Drew, just lke to say no worries about Ron passing on any times to them;) he knows to stay out of here now and I stay out of his .

I found a bug at GTN yesterday it was funny I ended up in there secret forum and got to read a few threads before making it known to them that I got in there, couldn't resist:D
Anyway that bug is fixed now thanks to my honesty, there was nothing of any interest in there, but did get to see a few of their preliminary(sp?) lap times but thats about it.

Anyway point is this .........trust! I can keep my mouth shut and so can Ron ;)
So post up times coz I need to see 'em :D

It will be hard for me though, to keep times to myself and not be able to tell you guys some targets, it would be unfair of me and I would feel bad about it

Understood Kelly...I trust Ron to do the right thing anyways, for the life of me I don't know what made me so paranoid anyway   I'm also glad that you won't pass on any info either...takes away the intrigue! ;)

You ran 18.8s??? crap i'm slow. damn that car. i've not been able to get near 1:19.5 all day. i'll take a look at your settings later.

The more expensive tires don't seem to give much benefit. Speeds and handling seem the same, I guess acceleration and corner grip are most affected. But I estimate pitting costs at least 35 seconds, and as a 1-1.5 second advantage does not seem easily coaxable from the costlier tires, I think a no pit strategy is probably the best bet. t3 front and t4 or t5 rear. My main problem is that the turns are so that avoiding ramming into the vette or ruf is very challenging. Also, I think a first gear start works better than a second gear one. I'm upshifting from the start line at certain mph. One thing is that if you shift at about 35-40 mph in 2nd gear (depends on gearing) it appears to help in acceleration for a moment, though the short drop in the tach after shifting to 3rd could make one nervous. Stiff springs seem to work well, but in the long sweeping turns I tend to drop speed, I think my grip is compromised. Too bad because it seems to help my quick transitions. Can I keep the damping where it is, or the spring rates as they are, I wonder?

Hiya T, sorry mate but I haven't had time to run this again yet due to being back at work and having to run my last race for the Torc series over at the GTF. (oh, and I had a quck blast around Swiss Alps to test out round one!).
Anyways..I will be back on this pretty much full time as of tomorrow after work and should have some results to share with you soon.
One thing though...Run this one on the harder compound tyres and don't pit. The softer options with a pit stop won't cut the mustard around Midfield I'm afraid. Try a softer set up and see if the cornering improves for you too.
Cheers Drew. ;)

God damn it to hell, no matter what I try I can't improve. It's a miracle if I can break 1:20. :banghead:

OK T,
Finished work early today so I got the chance to play around with the settings on the Celica and have a couple more attempts at the race. At this stage I have settled with T3’s on the front and T5’s on the rear as that seems to be the most even wearing combination that is durable enough to go the whole distance without a pit stop. I’ll post the settings for my best run straight after this post mate.
Here’s my best clean race to date…with this set-up I expect to possibly knock of around 2-3 seconds if I can get a little more speed and consistency. I have run 1:29.5’s for the first lap and 1:19.1’s around lap 5-6…so a much faster race is possible.

Lap 01 1:30.349
Lap 02 1:19.331
Lap 03 1:20.076
Lap 04 1:19.823
Lap 05 1:19.753
Lap 06 1:19.760
Lap 07 1:20.522
Lap 08 1:20.034
Lap 09 1:20.394
Lap 10 1:20.507

Full race Time – 13:30.549

Here’s the replay for any PAL team mates who want to check it out.

And here's another replay...a bit slower than my best but clean also...this race used different settings and harder tyres to the race I posted above T, might be worth checking them out too. Cheers Drew. ;)

sorry about no times, but i'm not feeling well and am rather uncomfortable.

T, I'll have a go at this one here really soon, but I don't know if I have that car, I might have to win it.
But once I get it, I'll post you up a replay and settings OK.

Managed another session last night and came up with my best effort so far.......13:28.032. This race is also 100% clean and has a starting lap of 1:29.736, and a bunch of laps in the mid to low 1:19's. Hey T, are you finding the A.I. to be as much of a nightmare on lap 1 as I am? I have worn out my 'ol Celica (down to 303 HP :( ) restarting the goddamn race more times than I care to remember! :banghead: Good luck with it mate.
Oh, I used identical settings and tyres from my last posted race, cheers, Drew. ;) And Rob....I'd be very interested in what lap times you can screw out of this car in race trim :)

You mean the Ruf rom hell? The car that, along with other cars, likes to slide into the wall and bounce right in front of your path? No, the first lap is a joy!

Well, crap!!!

I don't have this car, and I can't get it again. Is there anyway I can get it that you know of?

You'll have to add it to your garage using MK's Program and your X-port/Sharkport Rob...just remember to back up your game to the hard-drive before you modify a copy of it. ;)

Hmmm, I guess I'm going to have to spend some good quality time with MK's, and get a bit more familiar with her! ;)

:mischievous: Fresh Car and a fresh attitude and improvements abound. Have my opening laps down to 1:28.9's/1:29.1's and my flyers down to 1:19.1's on a regular basis. Now all I have to do is put it together. Have been able to match my race time easily but each time I've run a quicker race I've managed to 🤬 it up on the last lap pushing that little bit too hard :banghead: . Hoping to improve my total time by at least 2 seconds before the deadline...but i have a bad feeling that I'm gonna be way off the pace on this one :irked:
